There's nothing that says that one can't strategically use a Shichibukai position to their own ends (Crocodile? Hancock? Kuma? Blackbeard?). I could honestly see them doing so to get the government off their backs.

that whole "Luffy's gonna destroy the island" was a vision Shirley had. This is exactly what she saw:
A dude with a strawhat destroying sth big in a big bubble. She thought that big thing in that big bubble would be FI (in that moment everyone would have interpreted that in the same way). But when Noah was surrounded by a big bubble the Neptune army has shot, it was clear to Shirley that she saw exactly that moment in her visions:

Smoker is going to be an Admiral.
The marines have lost too much Power with Sengoku, Garp, and Aoikiji gone.
They need all the help they can get to feel in the empty Seats.
Smoker expressed interest in getting higher rank at the end of CP9 arc.
To those who say he wont be an Admiral because Smoker is to luffy as Garp was to Roger and he will Stay at Vice Admiral.

The reason we believe he will be like Garp was that he decided to raise in rank ONLY for teh reason of being able to do what he wants. He clearly stated that he needs a higher rank in order to have more freedom.
THEN we have Garp who refused becoming admiral or anything higher than VA, BECAUSE he said he had all the freedom he needed at that rank. Being Admiral apparantly doesn't let you do anything that VA's can't do, so this is why we don't see Smoker caring about being higher ranked than VA. He isn't like Coby. Coby's dream is to become an Admiral. Smokers dream is to just be let to do what he wants. He wants freedom to pursue who he wants, where he wants and when he wants. As soon as he is able to do that, I see no reason he would want to go any higher.
Momonga will be one of the new admirals. He fits and he is one of the vice admirals we have seen the most of. Just sayin!

That's just you guessing there are no precedents for that rather the opposite sengoku and garp stepped down without problem, you might argue that these are special cases. But still like I said no precedents for you to back up your argument.
The Warlords are themselves examples of this.

I think it could be either kidd drake hawkins or law. Those were the names to be said always in the newspapers. Law did say he would stay in paradise for awhile. But since Kidd is the one most feared my pirates and civillians I guess that makes him a good canidate to.
I doubt Drake would leave his position as rear admiral in the marines only to become a pirate and then AGAIN work for the marines as a warlord.

what i find highly unlikely is the another misdirection, like if that panel from shirley was there only to mislead us. Your point is that predictions never are what it seems, yet you're adding a second twist so it exactly turns into what it seems.

Drake becoming a Shichibukai would make absolutely no sense. The man is a Former Rear Admiral that went rogue. Why would the WG let him defect from the Marines, only to turn around and re-hire him as a contracted pirate?
because he would be a powerful asset and they could keep closer times on him and his valuable secrets.

Honestly, I think he's more fit to be a "main VA" who's in charge of the Buster Call and things like that. And it's not because he lost to WB.
Another thing: Ronse is out of the question, we can all agree about that. He has shown that sometimes, people get to be VAs just because they're giants. Yes, I mean his encounter with WB. While JG was doing it for a clear, sensible purpose (gaining time), Ronse was like: "Hey mom, look, I'll kill the world's strongest man, hey mom, are you watching, look, look, I'll shout at him, look, I'm swinging my axe, look, oh damn…"
Lacroix also failed, but I prefer considering it the fail of the whole Giant Squad. I'd like to see what he's capable of though.
Comil is another man who I doubt will ever become more than a VA.
Kaiser, Dalmation and Horny still have yet to show something.
Momonga was seen at G-1, wasn't he? Maybe he became the leader of it. Some sort of promotion, but still not as big as being promoted to Admiral. Furthermore while he had the most screentime of all (not counting Garp of course), he, again is most suitable for VA position than Admiral in my opinion.
Yamakaji... I'd laugh my so hard if he got promoted. Either way, I'm sure we will see more of him.
Strawberry has finally got some backstory which wasn't that impressing, but didn't make things hopeless. Also, being so.... longheaded makes him more of a comic-relief. I've still got hopes for him though.
Doberman is I think the best candidate (surprisingly~). He believes in Absolute Justice, he doesn't seem to be easily scared, he's vicious, he's somewhat unforgiving and cruel. He also seems more balanced than Onigumo who seems to ignore basic morals (like not killing your crewmen). I can see him as Akainu's "right-hand-man" though. The only thing Onigumo has an advantage in over Doberman is fighting skills. Onigumo has 8 swords, and he must be able to use them. On the other hand, Doberman only has that "basic" katana every other VA seems to have (except for Strawberry, Dalmatian and Horny). I guess he had to get those scars somewhere/somehow, but I'm still not pleased with him being another swordsman. He should fight with his bare fists, that would be cooler. Meh...

The thing I found funny this chapter was it felt like we got insane amount of info regarding the WORLD this chapter, meanwhile our coverstory regarding the WORLD has shown us like nothing.

I agree, but I doubt any of the VAs made such a jump the Strawhats did. They are too experienced and "old" for that. They can learn and train, but they have already reached (or close to reaching) their limits in my opinion.

I admit that in the war (where it would be a good opportunity to show how badass they are) they showed nothing really impressive. However, I think their task there wasn't "kicking ass", but to command soldiers while the Admirals did their thing. Someone had to order lower-ranked marines and keeping the whole thing from falling apart. The Vice-Admirals were perfect for that. In any other situation they might have showed a little bit more of what they can do.
Then again, I may see things wrong. Vice-Admiral is maybe the rank more suited for commanding than fighting with only few who can achieve being promoted to Admiral.

You do realize we have seen what two meetings this entire series. One meeting involved them all sitting around a table eating food and not talking, nor any marines talking to them either.
The other one, only a few showed up and really only doflamingo talked a little.
So EVEN if we do get more meetings, which I doubt. Not much goes on during them. So i wouldn't want to throw Drake on that team just to see these "epic" meetings. Let him be himself. If he wanted to have any dealings with the WG, he would not have left them, so I doubt he joins warlords.

Laffitte can't use soru. At least there's nothing indicating it. The flash effect in chapter 440 was from him jumping down from above after flying.

As someone said above, Doflamingo was with them once.
But what could Capone do? The Pacifista's don't obey him. If he lets them out, they would only attack WANTED criminals, or pirates. They aren't going to start attacking Marines. Now lets say he does somehow abuse them and is able to kill EVERY PIRATE IN THE WORLD with them. OK, good for him. Now he is what pirate king. The WG, still has nothing to fear from him. The Pacifistas can't be used against themselves. They could just send out an order for them to return home, and then next time Capone releases them they just walk away.

Doflamingo has 'higher' clearance then every other Warlord, but I doubt even HE'S been given outright control of the Pacifistas. They seem to be programmed to recognise allies and follow commands from them like ceasing an attack half-way because Hancock blocked their line of fire.
There's a difference between giving an order to a Pacifista that's already on the field, and carrying some around in your pocket, don't you think?

I never did mean using the Pacifistas against the Marines/WG itself since they must be 'hard-coded' to refuse such orders. I was thinking more along the lines of Crocodile abusing his power and privilege. There's always loopholes to exploit.
There is always the possibility of the new admirals being completely new characters who rose through the ranks, though they would have to be pretty impressive to rise that fast.
