I'm not one who buys a system for the sake of just one game, but this is highly tempting.I'll likely have a good long while to make up my mind, at least.
General Persona Thread

I wonder how the DLC of this game will be.
I think it will be characters from persona 1 and 2 and maybe other Shin Megami Tensei games.
-
I'm getting that Persona 4 Golden for the Vita, I played the original but I'm hungry for more!
-
Loving the style of this fighting Persona game.
Funky, flashy, yummy~ -
@Holy:
Persona 2: IS is the best Persona game (though I think P4 is really close behind), so it would be cool if Persona 5 would take cues and try to mix things up. The way P2 game starts as just high school students and they gather more effective and older characters once they actually leave school and go on "the mission" could really switch things up social link-wise. It can still have a town, or city, as a hub and not be a high school.
hey holy
speaking of innocent sin

A bunch of Persona 4 fighting game pics from the official website:

I SO want to see this in movement. . .I hope the animation is as good as the sprites. This can be glorious.
-
The only Persona game I've played is P3, so I may pick this one up along with P4.
I really need to finish P3 though. I have no excuse. I'm at the Final Boss's door step.
-
T](http://p-atlus.jp/p4u/)he music in the main site is so kickass.
The soundtrack will rock, I bet there will be many remixes of past great tracks, I hope this is like Persona 4 and comes with the soundtrack included in the game.
-
And the first trailer is here:

The final boss cheats. Make sure your entire party has anti-charm equipment. Because your healers WILL full heal the bastard, or attack you and kill you. Not fun. Not to mention the rounds where they don't heal you because the AI is retarded.
-
Didn't the final boss in P4 have a attack that has 50% change of giving a random status affect and then he uses a attack that kills anyone who has a status affect on him? That was a really big middle finger.

It does?! I only make it to half of the final boss's health before I run out of SP and eventually out of HP items.
-

You see, I guessed I must be blessed with luck or something, but whenever I play P3, the AI of my teammates is always pretty good. They attack when I need them to attack and healed whenever I needed them to heal. I pretty shocked when I heard a lot of people have problems with the AI.
-
The only problem I have is sometimes the healers will only use a single character heal instead of a party heal when I need it.
Oh and Mitsuru with her fucking Marin Karin.
-
THE AI is PASSABLE for ordinary battles, where it takes the enemy three or four turns to kill you. Then between the three of your teammates, they usually manage.
But when the enemy can kill you, or any of your teammates, in a single round, and you need to be on full time heal/life restoring duty? And its game over if the leader falls? And its a really long protracted battle that takes upwards of 90 minutes to do and the boss has 13 forms, and your teammates don't pay attention to its current zoidac and so keep casting spells that are innefective or heal him, and he has crazy ammounts of HP and ocassionally casts random status effects on the entire party and you run out of MP and you really need the entire group doing what you need them to do?
The AI is… not so good then.
Simply being able to control their actions manually would have been infinitely better. With the OPTION of putting them on auto if you feel like it.
-
I have the PSP version, where I'm allowed to control their actions manually. I'm not sure if the PS2 version had that, but I can control them.
Yeah, the AI was retarded at times.
I was using Yukari, Mitsuru, and Doro-Chan, so my team was pretty solid. A part of me regret not using a powerhouse like Junpei, but both MC and Doro make up for that, really.
EDIT: I hope they add more Persona 3 characters. I'm pretty much sold for this game if Mitsuru or Doromaru get in the game. I bet you Akihiko will instead. X_X I'm sorry, but Akihiko is so boring to me.
-

Yeah, neither of the PS2 versions had that option. PSP fixed it but… I'm not about to buy the game a third time and work on re-fusing all those monsters AGAIN...
I dunno if part 4 fixed it or not.
Also. Thor's hammer weapon with Thor as your summon is pretty amazing combo. Get an electric bonus, and a hammer bonus, and you can max out the stats at the arcade pretty easily, to get some MASSIVE regular damage capabilities.
-
Yeah in 4 you can control your characters if you want.
-
And the first trailer is here:
There's room for improvement, but for a first trailer.. It's stylish
-
Oh geez. I just realized that this might just exclusivley be P4 characters. Don't get me wrong, I love P4, but when we were shown Aigis, I was under the assumption that it would be characters from both P3 and P4. Well, if Aigis is the only P3 character we're getting, here's hoping for DLC.
-
I just realized P4's main character's name is Yu Narukami.
Yu.
You.
I might be slow, but damn that's hilarious.

Persona 2 : Innocent Sin UK LE looking pretty cool:

-
Do you guys wish for a return of the calendar system in Persona 5? I personally think it's outdated. I didn't mind it at first but now being in my fourth playthrough the dayswitch animation becomes annoying. A tweak so you could skip it might be enough? Also don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with the calendersystem itself since I think it's amazing in giving a sense of progression just think how it happens can become annoying.
-
So I guess Arc System Works is making a fighting game about Persona. Looks EXACTLY like Blazblue but with 3D models.

Is it me or is Kanji's body made to look like Superman's?
-
He was definitely beefed up a bit.
Though the character models really didn't have much in the way of variation in P4, in fighting games it's nice to have at least a character or two with different silhouettes. Apparently Kanji is this game's grappler, so I don't mind it. Otherwise pretty much every character would be "slender."
-
Mitsuru and Akihiko confirmed for P4: Arena.
Shirtless Akihiko and Mitsuru in a black leotard?
I'm ready.
-
Akihiko, Mitsuru, and Shinji were my tri-star favorites of P3 by oodles and oodles
-
If it wants to stay true to the series Mitsuru must cast Marin Karin at random times.
-
Akihiko? My favorite character from Persona 3 is in?
Hell yeah!
-
Oh baby oh BABY. Now just give me Ken. If Ken is in I will have no qualms with buying this day one.
-
I…
um...
Um. i have never been more ready
-
I refuse to pay this game any attention until they show Kuromaru is in it.
Sure, he'd have a smaller hitbox, but thats how it goes.
-
-
I hope I can date Kanji this time.
-
I hope they rebalance some aspects, like making it a little bit less grindy.
I like Persona but after finishing Persona 4, 3 times I don't know if I want to grind again. -
I hope we can actually choose the skills we want when fusing Personas, I remember spending a big chunk of 3 and 4 just trying to get right combination of skills, that was annoying.
-
http://www.atlus.com/p4arena/purchase.html
Mayonaka Arena's been confirmed for US release as "Persona 4: Arena ".
-
And there was much rejoicing. MUCH rejoicing.
-
I'm not very great at fighting games but P4 Arena looks fun. Plus Holy told me I have to get it or else.

Awwwww yeah my patience pays off
-
Wait, there's a second part to Persona 2? Is it like a sequel? A re-telling? I'm confused.
-
Its a sequel and a re-telling(it makes sense in the plot) of the original Persona 2 that was only released in Japan, the Persona 2 people played in America is that game, only last year did a official translation of the first Persona 2 came out on the PSP.
-
Wait, there's a second part to Persona 2? Is it like a sequel? A re-telling? I'm confused.
There are two games in the Persona 2 miniseries.
Innocent Sin is the original game that happens chronologically first. Eternal Punishment is the sequel. It's more like Persona 2.5 than anything, but it is entirely and completely a sequel (not a 1.5 remake, or anything).
Makes sense when you play it, yup.
http://gematsu.com/2012/02/persona-4-arena-adds-new-fighter-on-consoles
Also there's a third anti-shadow robot now. Kind of okay, I guess, because that giant axe looks great.
-
Ah, okay thanks. One more persona game for me to enjoy then.
New character huh? Does this mean the game will have some sort of story mode?
Because any game that crosses P3 and P4 characters will be pretty freaking sweet.
-
Eternal Punishment takes the main female character from Innocent Sin and makes her your silent protagonist while IS's main character gets a vocal role. It's pretty interesting because you team up with all her friends and acquaintances instead and the other game's cast are just kind of on the sideline now.

http://www.screwattack.com/news/music-tracks-upcoming-persona-5
Real…or fake.....either way good music!
-
Waitwaitwait….That's a lot of music to release before much else is known about the game. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'm highly skeptical on the legitimacy of these tracks. I'm calling fake...or at least unofficially leaked.
-
Those tracks have been revealed some time ago, and yeah its fake the man in some of the videos is clearly a edited image of Dojima.
