FUCK YEAH!!!!
sees trailer
FUCK YEAH!!!!
SanAndreas looks so boss in all this hi definition glory. I'm hoping we get all three cities, the planes seem to hint at that (remember they were not in IV because planes in one city was pointless.)
The guy narrating the trailer may be the protagonist, but he sounds more like a mission boss to me. This game would be amazing if you were to do jobs for Tommy Vercetti, although it's unlikely Tommy would move from Vice City, for the weather, unless that's an ironic joke.
I am so looking forward to this if I have to wait an entire year it will be utter torture! However, given how 'complete' the trailer looks, I'm still standing by my April prediction (in a guess the date competition.)
Going back to San Andreas, Andreas, Andreas.
Los Santos looks amazing in the trailer, I'm happy.
It really does look amazing x)
SA was my favorite so I'm pretty excited it's back. :)
Favorite part of the trailer was the shot of those oil drills(?), its the small stuff like that that really brings these worlds to life.
I also think I'll pick this one up at launch time, I loved San Andreas quite a bit.

GTA V will have multiple playable characters
That's just a rumor from several days ago. It's probably not even true.
Please come true.
Doing a wheelie on a dirtbike down the Las Venturas Strip while being chased by cops and listening to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton singing "LOUISIANA WOMAN MISSISSIPPI MAN" is still one of my gaming highlights, and I thank San Andreas for that. Like Kaze said, time to go home.
Ahhh what did I tell yah?
San fucking Andreas
Rockstar are really smart for understanding their demographic. Bringing things back to that Cali feel will make SOOOO much fucking money by choosing Los Santos (and hopefully the rest of San Andreas… well.... I can honestly do without the other two cities... Santos was the fucking best, hands down).
Hahaha let the pre-orders roooooooollllll in.
I hate my job. raises chalice

For those interested it is confirmed that all 3 cities of San Andreas will be there and all of their glorious glory (Not just Las Santos)
I never been this exited for a game since…
San Andreas.
wow
I just…really didn't expect this. I was sure the trailer would be alright, make me interested, but I thought these times to get really excited for a GTA are over, but this trailer made me so happy.
The scenery just looked so fantastic, colorful and inviting, like the opposite of the dark and gritty IV style. Seeing the mountain was my personal highlight, since I don't think I spend more time in San Andreas on anything other then messing around there and doing all kind of crazy and impossible stunts.
So much has been brought back or hinted at. Loved seeing the jet, airplane, jet skis and all that other good stuff, with some new stuff like dogs and maybe other animals.
It's actually pretty awesome that this is happening right in the week before Skyrim, something take my mind of from it ^^
Edit: wow, kind of sounded like I'm hating on IV.
Just to make it clear again, loved the game, liked the atmosphere, characters and everything, but I really appreciate it that Rockstar has apparently listened to fan feedback and went back to my personal favorite of the series. I'm thankful for IV, it's been an interesting and fun game, but I'm so hyped for some old fashioned GTA 3 - SA goofiness.
Simply said, I want a toned down Saint Rows, but not too much. I dunno, San Andreas just got it perfect, with Vice City being close second. GTA 3 didn't age well for me.
So here's my reaction from when I saw the trailer.

We are very proud to officially announce that Grand Theft Auto V is in full development.
Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created.
A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.

Looks like it's only Los Santos..
It "starts" in Los Santos.
Looks fun, like old GTA again.
I'm going to be happy even if it is one city. I imagine they'd have made improvements in other areas, expanded upon interiors and interactivity with the city. Los Santos looks amazing and I'm thinking that an entire state of that quality depth might just be a stretch too far. If we parallel this with the last generation games, it was the third one (SanAndreas) where they were able to give us the state, which could mean a Rockstar take on Florida for GTA VI, but that's going way too far ahead now.
Nice.
I wonder what theme they will go for.
e.g. black gangster…polish war criminal etc lol
Being only in Las Santos is pretty disappointing but I'm still glad to be going back and the country areas are still going to be there.
It would be pretty cool even if CJ doesn't appear in this game if they kept Grove Street in still just as game reference.
San Andreas? For Reals?!
Nice.

Protagonist is supposedly Hispanic.
No-one from the previous generation games will show up. It's a whole new universe and I expect this Los Santos will be a different to the original as Liberty City was in III compared to IV.
I'd love to see a street called Grove, as an easter egg, I doubt it will be there in the same capacity and I also doubt we'll see the GSF and the Ballas, unless the gangs are like franchises such as Cluckin Bell, and they survive through to the Next-gen.
Minor spoilers. A Rockstar developer that's resigning soon posted a map of at least Los Santos on his twitter feed. Spoilers if you don't want to see it.
!
Actually, I believe that's been confirmed as fake. At least, that's the general consensus.
I find it hard to believe that's real.
It doesn't resemble a GTA style map in previous games but I suppose it would be dull to do the same thing in what they call "Their most ambitious game"
Vinewood's in the countryside. =/

The actor playing as GTA 5's main character Albert De Silva is possibly actor Ned Luke
Not familiar with him but he seems like a good choice going by the debut trailer (provided he is the voice of Albert)
When did we get the main character's name?
When did we get the main character's name?
Not sure but apparently we got it some point in between the debut trailer and now lol we probably just missed it
IGN says they got it from IMDB but since anyone can edit that, it could be a made up name.
Interesting how most of the people in here say San Andreas is back. I thought Vice City is back. Mostly because of the more vibrant colors and the nice little speech in the beginning. I've not played IV so far, but SA was always the part of the series that was so gray, that I actually installed a mod making the game look a bit more colorful. Also the story was not as good as in Vice City. Just when CJ had made his way to the top, his idot brother drags him back into the shit. CJ may ask "What has the hood ever done fore me?" But instead of acting on that he goes back to the old gang fighting. It's the only GTA where the character ends up right where he started.
Anyway that trailer gives off a different vibe and I look forward to playing it on my new pc. And don't forget this fantastic surf rock track they have on the trailer. I want to hear some GTA radio now!
Rockstar says it's San Andreas
I'm sure SA's environments weren't as colorful and detailed due to how huge it was for it's time. That's what I assume.
If you don't understand the things that made SA enjoyable, then that's your own loss. Too me, GTAIV felt like it stripped away many MANY features that could have been easily included or vastly improved upon. I honestly felt like I was playing another game with a separate title.
You have to admit that GTA IV had many great elements, shown in hundreds of YT vids like this:

GTA V is making great progress. Which is a great thing.
Just make a good PC port you basterds.
Just make a good PC port you basterds.
And bring back the helicopter controls from san andreas and vice city…
The last mission was so stupid with the new helicopter controls.
I never beat IV so I wouldn't know anything about that :ninja: . I need to get on that.
I'm actually kind of irked to see that it's in San Andreas again, we've already been there :/
How cool would it be if it were in Mumbai?

Max Payne 3 being set in San Paulo is one thing I don't know about setting a GTA game in India though I do think they might have to set one outside the country at some point.
If they set one in India and keep the same level of insensitivity, but using Indians as the subject instead of Americans I'm sure there'll be some sort of backlash at a higher level than what the games already get when they come out.
^ Worst I see of of it is people complaining about it using muslims eventhough most indians are buddhists.
There was a backlash against RE5 when it was revealed that it was taking place in Africa because "the point of the game is shooting black people". Now add GTA's sense of humor and I can see something serious happening. Hell, people jumped on Bully before it was even out, calling it a "Columbine simulator".
Americans love to bitch about things they have little to no understanding of.
I'm not going to dig up the GTAIV thread for this but there's this GTAIV mod that improves the graphics coming out soon (well it's actually already out but this is the latest version) and I'm wondering how GTAV will compare to it. And also how this mod will look when it's made for GTAV, if it is.

Who cares about all that stupidity, the game would just be fun. GTA cranked up higher; more traffic to plow through, more crowded streets, more general lawlessness
We could have gun fights in ancient temples and drive-by shootouts in auto-rickshaws lol
And can you imagine all the ridiculous Indian caricatures Rockstar would come up with?
We've explored American cities so often in these open game worlds, it would be nice to have a change.
Sao Paulo would be cool too.
^ Worst I see of of it is people complaining about it using muslims eventhough most indians are hindus
There are lots of muslims in India, more than 100 million of them…
They actually form somewhat of an underclass compared to Hindus, I could definitely see this dynamic being used by Rockstar.
