Hope Brook vs Zeo's fight isn't overly one-sided and stretched for at least half a chapter (if the whole fight is covered in a single chapter, that is). I, for one, want to see Brook's new sword techniques but I'd also love to see Zeo's fighting style and techniques with his chains.

At this rate, I think every fight will go pretty much "one-sided" for each strawhat, so you'll be disappointed if that really is what you want. If I were you, I will just be looking forward to some non-serious ass-kicking from Brook and comedic antics from our boy Zeo.

If you think about it, the New Fishman Pirates are probably around the same level as Arlong's crew. Considering the SHs had a pretty tough time against the raw strength of Fishmen back then, it says something about how far they've come when they're easily dominating in an even larger group of them today.

To me, the NFP actually seem stronger than the Arlong Pirates because of the way the fights are shaping up. The interesting thing is that while it is obvious that Hody's underlings will be owned sooner or later, they haven't gone down yet. This is just like the East Blue underlings who usually gave the Straw Hat they were fighting a good fight because of the Straw Hat having some handicap, but when the handicap was removed and the underling defeated, it was obvious that the underling was a weakling compared to the Straw Hat. Zoro vs Hatchan and Sanji vs Kuroobi are good examples of that.

No one commented on this line yet? There's something hinky going on about that whole prophecy thing - how would it be all over if the princess got hit too? I mean, sure, if the island got destroyed they'd be out a home and all, so I suppose you could call it all over, but he specifically added Shirahoshi to that statement. Just what does this freakin' prophecy say?!

Good chapter though. I enjoy watching the crew all fight and I've really missed seeing them trounce their enemies. Considering that Hattchi is the 2nd best sword-fighter in FI, I'm not surprised Zoro is giving Octo-guy a major beat down. Hattchi was trounced before the crew even got to the Grand Line. There can't be too much of a difference in his and Hyozo's skills - even if Hyozo was a complete 'power level' above Hatchi, he'd still be way below Zoro.

Like someone said before, this arc is about showing off how powerful the crew has become before they officially reach the New World and start getting their asses handed back to them. Also, story reasons.

Calm down, :If it collides with the island and the princess. everything will be over as was written: simply refers to the prrincess' ability to control sea beasts, and the prophecy made by shirley.

Also, can people stop it with the damn power levels? it gets you nowhere. If you look through the posts, you are allj sut repeating each other.

First half was boring, felt like a pointless flashback and could have been done real time back a few chapters.

Second half I enjoyed and liked better than last chapter. Sure last chapter was probably more important and had some sweet underwater fighting but it was all about Luffy. I have seen too much of him in the past 2-3 years. Any chapter showing the other strawhats goofing around, fighting, ect is a HUGE bonus in my books right now.

Wasn't that little interaction there a few minutes ago, you know before decken became unconcious and the ship was still chasing the princess. Thus if the ship hits the princess then the ship will fall back down to fishman island.

So probably next chapter we'll see Robin vs Hammond, Usopp vs Daruma, more Brook and maybe Zoro getting poisoned. Then everyone finishing off their opponent in the next two chapters with some Luffy in each, followed by flashback?

This was the chapter I was expecting, and I'm not disappointed. I'm glad we got some story/clues instead of just fights.

I'd be pretty dissapointed if Zoro got poisoned. I mean he fought against what like 9 swords and managed to slice them in half VERTICALLY, now how is he going to let a tenticle get close enough to touch him? If any of Hyouzou's limbs get even close to zoro they should be severed like nothing.

Chopper looks like a cuter furrier hulk. He's huge now, looks like the size of the Dosun.

Great to see Robin get a specific task and at the request of Jinbe even! Hopefully it results in a decent fight. Still waiting for Nami as well against A and B, her attacks are so visually impressive, we've got to learn more.

If Wadatsumi can control himself while inflated then I don't mind the Jinbe Sanji tag team, at least then it doesn't seem like they are beating up a helpless baby.

Indeed. Isn't this, like the first chapter since Thriller Bark which is not a flashback or about the Shichibukai/Marines/etc. that has not featured Luffy? I think his role has been a bit too big lately. Of course he is the absolute main character, but the other Straw Hats are also main characters, and Luffy isn't exactly my favorite character in One Piece.

Check out Aohige's translation in the first post. Kekkai can apparently also refer to 'range' or 'zone'; my guess was simply stating that he gave Hyouzou a chance to escape or some such. As to what he did, he cut all of Hyouzou's swords vertically in an instant, which is pretty crazy even for Zoro, haha.

I like how Franky's mecha is essentially just a giant suit of armor. It does nothing, anything at all not involving punching or swinging a sword is just franky opening the doors and attacking himself.

Hopefully we see his mecha's improve throughout the series to the point where it actually is like a mecha and not a suit of armor.

BTW has any manga or anything ever had a character cut the swords in half vertically before or is Zoro the first to do this?
ALso hoping we don't get many more things like this INK double. Would hate to turn into like naruto ninja battles. Nami already has her mirage tempos that might annoy me if used too much.

If Zoro doesn't get poisoned then it wouldn't be a proper Zoro fight (he needs a temporary disability, his eye doesn't count) and then th eonly reason for Hyouzou's poison side was to show that Luffy has developed anti-bodies, which I had already suspected was the case.

The only problem I have with Zoro being poisoned is HOW.

He has so far blocked EVERY attack sent at him this entire time, and even cut all of the guys swords. So how do you expect him to get one of his tentacles in close enough to Zoro in order to prick him and poison him. With Luffy its easy, Luffy has to PHYSICALLY TOUCH you in order to attack. Zoro does not. If the octopus tries to poison Zoro, why should Zoro not severe that limb off?

Am I only one here who thinks that Hyozou might actually be more powerful if he isn't drunk? When not drunk, he obviously can think better, thus making him a more skilled fighter. Even when powered up by the ES, being unable to think properly due to being drunk must be what caused him to look so weak.

It was nice to have a chapter not focused on Luffy. Zoro's badassery obviously seems to have no limits. Another Zoro's Stamp of Approval for the weakling trio. Sanji looks to be redeeming himself by trolling which is fantastic. It looks like Hody and Fisher Tiger are probably related.

Anyway, I like how the chapter portrayed the match-ups, as in how irrelevant they are. Sanji's not even hitting his opponent, Brook gets one panel, Franky's just showing off, Chopper is fangasming at Franky while fighting Dosun, and Zoro broke all of Hyouzous swords in one hit and demands a better time waster challenge.

Hyouzou, unless there is a twist, is easily the most badly handled character Oda has ever done. Bar none. Just… absolutely horrible. Luffy saying he's strong, introducing him separately and in a much more favorable light than any of the others, foreshadowing him since the AP arc, him being more of a veteran among all these newbies, giving him the ES transformation... all that for absolutely nothing at all? He might as well not exist. Ugh.

Thats why i havent enjoyed this chapter at all… Why would Oda do this? Hope he has something in mind for this X_X

Noticed that too. Also noticed how Zoro had to get used to Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu before using them properly. Yet Hyouzou can collect random generic swords from defeated combatants and cut those shells as effortlessly as Zoro. Yes, hes on ES, but the swords werent.

They gave the right minister a little charaterization it was nice.chopper and franky's fight were pretty good. frany only having that robot too look cool and chopper's heavy pooint making him a real monster

I think the pacing is just fine. It has a ton of elements to cover in 20 something pages on a weekly basis. But holy balls Zoro is so off the charts this week. Who cuts swords vertically? lol. Zoro is the manliest man to ever man. And I'm loving this new confident monster-esque Chopper.

Funny how people demand to see full one-on-one fights, yet also want another nakama to join the SHs. For each crew member to have a long, dragged out fight like they used to have would be very time consuming. I don't think this arc is worth it, but it'll most likely happen in the future. I personally hope there wont be any more nakama, because it'd increase the workload for Oda even further, and he might have to skip on certain development like he has so far in this arc.

Not a bad chapter. I'm starting to get a little impatient on the plot development. Oda has slowed way down… we still have to hear about Noah's past, Hody's true nature or whatever, poneglyph(?), prophecy... I think we need to start getting more information now. The SH fights aren't really getting anywhere interesting... seems like the SHs are on holiday or something. They should just finish the job or at least get in some desperate situation which would add more tension. It's all fun and games on land.
