I wanna see Nami and Robin have a good fight as much as the next guy but that's just not them. Robin hasn't had a 1v1 since what.. Skypeia? And I'm pretty sure Nami hasn't had a 1v1 since TB (although I could be mistaken). Their roles are different, they're meant more to be working parts of a fighting team, whereas Luffy/Zoro/Sanji/etc are geared more towards 1v1 fights (but work well in a team as well).

He meant that they have plenty of time to do a proper translation. i.e. The translations are bad not because of lack of time but because the translators they use are either bad or lazy.

Trust me - people are grateful for being able to read the Manga in a language they are familure with.
The problem comes from when things are translated poorly or incorrectly - setting up people to argue or be confused about situations in the manga - a big one was in the flashback of Tiger - it was poorly translated and it threw out the timeline of Tiger freeing the slaves - it ended up eventually being corrected. But took a couple of weeks for it to trickle down.
Also mistranslations provide forum trolls with fodder for setting off the more easily baited - by quoting an incorrect translation as gospel even when it had been corrected.
Just look at the mess Nakama made and I think that was only limited to the Anime initially.

And, you should be grateful also for translations. I'm not that familiar to English though, i have to read chapters in English if I don't want a poor translation. Sometimes, there isn't even one translation that i can trust, and, i know what i'm talking about : Japanese ==> English ==> Other languages (for many europeans countries i think, and it's my case). Then, i figured out Mangastream translation was not that bad. Also, you can compare it to the other translations : Cnet, Aohige… and, you can see sometimes there a minor mistranslations, but, not that much big mistranslation.
And, the chapter is up really early on MS, so i guess TL don't have much time to translate so we can't complain that much. For example, you take a text, if you translate it a second time, the second translation should be far better than the first...
But, that's not that important, and, first of all, i really liked the chapter. I'm waiting for the new chapter, and i feel like i'll like it.

Actually, no, he doesn't care if people ask or not for permission to use his translations… They are free for anybody to use, as long as he is properly credited, as he states in the guidelines for using his translations (to which there is a link at the beginning of every translation he makes)...
I believe that the reasons he translates so late nowadays are: firstly because the RAW appears in the internet only days after mangastream's scanlation (mangastream have their own exclusive RAW provider, who gets their RAW very early), and secondly because he doesn't have to translate so that fast scanlation groups can use his translations as soon as possible anymore (which he used to do years ago), since mangastream's super-early high-quality releases (if you disregard the quality of the translation) basically destroyed all the "competition", so there is no necessity for him to make fast translations anymore, he just does it when he has free time, at his own pace... (Nowadays only late scanlations use his translations, such as scanlations of whole volumes of the manga.)
BTW, he used to translate OP for binktopia (which as you all know merged with mangastream), but they ended using other translators after the merge because Cnet's time available to translate didn't match mangastream's work time to release the chapters (and probably also because of some problems binktopia and Cnet had at the end of their period working together), which would mean having to delay the chapter's release if they really wanted to use Cnet's translation.

For a scan that uses cnet's trans, there's a scan group called mangarule. I think they are over 10 chapters or so behind, but it's a reliable scan if anyone wants to reread The arc (especially the flashback) with accurate wording

and besides. take a one piece chapter and you have say 500 words to translate and 50 dialogue boxes to clean and edit and so on.
take a bleach chapter and you have 50 words and 5 dialogue boxs to clean and edit.
even IF the translator handed both scripts done to the editor at the same time it woudl take longer to finish one piece.
