Wow… great chapter.
So, I don't really have the time to translate, but here's the rundown.
Title page: Miss Valentine, Mr. 5, and Miss Goldenweek approach a Navy Detention Center in their commandeered ships.
Chapter:
There's chaos on the island. While the people are taken by surprise, so are the Naval forces on the island, and they make a hasty retreat. Spandine does likewise, after telling one of his lieutenants to take note of the child who claimed to be an archaeologist, follow her, and make sure she didn't leave the island. Meanwhile, Dr. Clover laments the loss of the history stored within the burning Tree of Knowledge, that the scholars are desperately (and ineffectively) trying to put out.
While all this is going on, Robin takes her mother's hand, and embraces her, explaining that it's something she's always wanted to do. Olvia and Robin share a mother-daughter moment, while Clover apologizes for his role in marking Robin for destruction. Olvia also apologizes to her daughter, and tells her that she's truly impressed by her abilities and perseverance. Clover, at seeing this, tells them both to flee the island.
At this moment, however, Saul makes his appearance, and is happy to see that Robin has been reunited with her mother. But Olvia, who knows Saul, demands to know how he got to Ohara. Saul explains that he was washed up on shore there and Robin had befriended him. At this, Olvia entrusts him with her daughter and tells him to to get Robin off the island, as she still has things to do. Robin doesn't want to be separated, and tells Olvia so, but Olvia has made up her mind. She tells Robin that if Ohara is destroyed, then she must be the one to carry on, for the future's sake. Robin tearfully sobs that she doesn't understand, but Olvia reassures her that she will... someday. At this, she tells Saul to go, and he scoops up Robin against her protestations. Olvia thinks to herself that she was happy to be called "Mom," and shouts her last words to her daughter: "STAY ALIVE, ROBIN!!!" Olvia breaks down in tears.
On Kuzan (Aokiji)'s ship, it's discovered that VICE ADMIRAL Saul is on the island. This causes such a shock that the story turns into a flashback-within-a-flashback. As it turns out, Saul's ship was the one to attack the archaeological expedition's, though he obviously feels that the level of force being used is too great, telling his men that they don't have to kill anyone, despite the crew's objections. He is told that only one person survived, as Olvia is brought on board. she shouts at the vice-admiral, telling him that they weren't criminals.
Later (still earlier than the beginning of Robin's flashback), Saul is dismayed to find out, from Sengoku, that there is to be a Buster Call carried out on Ohara. Not only that, but he is to be the Vice-Admiral to lead the assault. Saul argues with him, saying that they are mere scholars, who only want to know about history. Sengoku tells him that they are absolute evil, and asks him if he really wants to betray the government. …Saul approaches Olvia's cell, and tells her he has something to say to her. ...Soon afterward, Saul is spotted leaving the base with Olvia. Men are ordered after him, but they escape on a battleship (the same one Olvia arrives in, presumably). Olvia wants to know why he helped her, since he can't go back to the Navy. Saul tells her that he doesn't have faith in the Navy, so he's not going to stay with them any longer. Though it might be following the law, the next operation was too tyrannical, and went against his own sense of justice. Olvia tells him that she won't say thanks, but Saul just laughs and says that he'll be praying for good luck.
Jumping back to Robin's flashback, Saul is running from cannon fire with Robin cradled in his hands. Robin wants him to go back, but he refuses, saying that the island and her mother were both right: she needs to survive so she can tell the world its history, because Ohara fought against the world to do it. He is hit in the face by artillery, but despite his wounds, is conscious enough to attack the Navy ship shelling them in order to keep Robin safe. Robin shouts for him to stop, but Saul angrily challenges the vessel, declaring that if they're going to turn him into an enemy, he won't give up without a fight.
