One Piece Collectibles v.7 Main Discussion - "The never-ending POP alts"

Ok, I may have it wrong about ppl motivation. But WCF has quickly begun a pain in the ass to get a complete set, and each set is really expensive…The 2nd argument is why I never started to get any of these.
I agree for FC, it's become boring, so I didn't get the last 2 sets. However, MBH just fills the bill nicely, so it's the only SD series I'm still collecting :)

Well I don't buy every single figure in wcf. Only the ones I like. It's the only way I'll ever bother to buy figures of the likes of Kuro, Arlong, Chuu, Alvida, Nojiko, Bellemere, Iva, Bon-Chan, Shanks and Roger. I like them enough to buy a small figure of them but not enough to invest money and space on larger figures.

I'm still not happy about the last MBH set (TB) randomly not having Robin in. But at least she's in the new set I suppose. Kinda bleh that it's impossible to own the entire set of Mugiwara in Enies Lobby, Thriller Bark or Saboady outfits tho. Especially considering the size of the sets.

I think the biggest pain is if you're a must have full sets collector. I'd hate to be one. It would be painful. The only thing I'm trying to fill out atm is my POPs. Other than that, I don't mind not having ever figure. When I look at WCF, I feel like I need to get it all or it seems like stuff is missing, hence me avoid it. I do enjoy seeing people post their pictures and stuff of them though. Same with all the figures really. With my own collection, be in for OP or something else, I only get figures I like and are what I consider good quality. Otherwise, I'd be super poor. Well more poor than I am now.

lol, im in china now, saw bootlegs of the vivi+nami snap girls and the super dx ace 2.
nice stuff, couldn't really tell they were bootlegs but the edges were a little unrefined and there were no boxes.
also, wow, bootlegs in china are SUPER cheap. I think the POPs are 10USD and nendoroids are 7usd.
they look so authentic I can understand why people get cheated.

i ended up not buying it, kind of regretting it because I don't think I can go back again, its quite far from where I am. If I do I will buy an extra then. (i didnt ask the price)

anyway the edges were very unrefined, like the hat had chips in it. maybe rejected goods?

Yep, maybe they reject items, but yeah. If u manage to go back there. I would love to get 1.
My ace is having a hard time standing straight. And i like my ace to have flame on his hand. XD

Sorry I just have GLM and Styling. The old Styling Editions look really horrible, Robin is just completly unproportional xD

pictures of the bootlegs I got. Got them cause I don't want the pops THAT much but have a slight desire XD sorry megahouse! (i still buy their stuff neways)

I asked to inspect the figures but I knew they were bootlegs fosho thanks to the price. if they were sold at a convention I would definitely have mistook them for the real thing (if there were stickers). The painting is a little off here and there but its not obvious at all (though I intend to repaint sanji's teeth).
! also can do a comparison with my authentic pop chopper :) when I get home!
really regret not getting an dx ace though I have one at home in sg, I wanted to repaint one for my own entertainment…

totally agree. I can hardly tell the difference from this and my other POPs. The cardboard box (which is supposed to be flimsy) has identical material too. the shiny skin is quite a giveaway though…

The shiny plastic looks the same as what figuarts zero use for their product.

Take a look at this akainu figuarts. The plastic look is identical. Most probably some cheap plastic
I think they stole one of the moulds and then copy using cheap plastics to sell as bootlegs, so its identical to original POPs

I'm not sure. It could be tomorrow or Tuesday or not. I cannot actually remember when the release date was (cus we do tend to hear people saying they're on Yahoo Japan.) I think the official release was for this upcoming week.

Volume 13 is released on the 26th so I don't imagine PA will get them until either Thursday or maybe even Monday the 2nd of May

Don't go to Tokyo Toys then!! Its such a rip of and full of bootlegs last time I went in there

Theres a comic shop called Orbital Comics near Leicester Square that often has One Piece merch (usually GLM and common WCF's) in stock, but I emailed them last week and the guy said they haven't recieved anything new since January now :/

According to Liz, Japan Centre occasionally has some mini figures in but its all random

London is a pitiful place for One Piece tbh, and if you do find stuff, its mostly over priced :(

Forbidden planets good for manga, but i go there for final fantasy figures aswell.

It's worth heading to Tokyo Toys for one reason. Trocardo :D they have real Sega UFO catchers there for you to try, filled with crap but hey it's the game not the prize ^.^

Much as others have said, Orbital is great, it was much better when they had the separate Orbital Manga store but they have a decent range of Manga and some toys including some WCF as people have said.

That Sengoku repaint is pretty awesome.

and someone asked why those small models are so expensive, I don't know anything about them, though they're obviously not worth the prize they're charged for, so I assume the reason is because they know a lot of Japanese will want to have One Piece merchandise, but don't have the physical room in their tiny Japanese houses for larger models.

So they can sell the small ones for a rip off prize and people will stay buy them in abundance, also with the fact they make so many of them people who like to collect things that buy a few will get hooked and buy them all.

I'd say about 2 weeks, could take longer but usually it takes about this time.

Apparently it's the Ichiban Kuji Kyun with the Shichibukai theme due in July. Neat, caught me off guard. Looking forward to it….IK is getting to be almost monthly now =O
