Hey NATO, when they said they want more air strikes, they meant on Gaddafi's forces and not on them.
AFP: At least five opposition fighters killed in a NATO air raid in the eastern oil town of Brega.

Bbc has been vociferating the number 13 since this morning is 5 the official number asmo? Whats with the lack of communication between the rebels and the Nato pilots both sides should get that shit sorted before the entire rebel faction gets decimated by friendly fire.
13? I've only heard of 5.
And Misurata is still being shelled by Gaddafi's forces.
Araa this is confusing http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12997181 perhaps they will update the article.

BBC missed things up I'd say, 13 was the number of deaths in the first 'accidental' attack about a week ago, this one has 5 deaths and 25 injured.

So…MANY...LORDZEBS.
Keep to the real topic people. We all now that NF is a place beyond all hope, but that doesn't mean you should bash it here. Most of us are interested in the current news, keep those coming instead.
It's totally pointless to criticize a place if you're not even trying to make things better.
I know Dryish. It's jut that I am utterly baffled when I bring for the plight of the Lybian people, I get called a "disgusting, moronic human being" for it.
Totally beyond all hope, that's what I said.
Sadly, the internet is filled with morons like that. It's our duty to assure that AP will remain sensible and a place for intelligent conversation.
@Cyan:
So…MANY...LORDZEBS.
I thought we banned that word?
You know for a second there I felt like I was in the book The Marching Morons, except all were marching in my direction :ninja:
And what exactly do we have on that tidbit the guardian gave on these so called Al Qaeda conections ?
Welp, according to NPR, it turns out the military in Egypt (at BEST in small parts) are starting to arrest and imprison critics, including a blogger. Their trials for the accused last only minutes.
One guy even argued with a plain clothes officer at a checkpoint for being rude (he didn't know he was an officer), so the officer said he had a knife, turned him over to the military. No knife was presented at trial, but he was found guilty anyway.
Crosses fingers
Please let this just be a sign of baby steps.
Well fuck .
I don't know if this has been mentioned; but could it be possible for Libya to divide and become two separate countries?
Geographically it looks like the easiest option/alternative to what could be a 100+ year conflict that would probably mirror the Gaza strip.
I don't think the international community would want to have a hand in it.

Actually it was mentioned by Gaddafi himself. He said that the opposition in the east want to divide the country and don't care about Tripoli, which was dismissed by the people in Benghazi.
I mean it looks easier for the people in the east, but what about the people in the west.
–EDIT--
Reuters: Revos say they are fighting Gaddafi forces who are trying to enter Misurata.

The state news agency SANA reported shooting in Daraa, but it said "vandals" had opened fire on mass gatherings, killing a policeman and an ambulance driver and wounding dozens of police and residents.
Reuters quotes opposition activists in Damascus saying that automatic weapons fire rang out during a pro-democracy rally confronted by Syrian security forces in a suburb there.

Okay.
I need a specific source for that. I need this sourced so I can shove it down a certain moron's throat.
And by the way: MY GOD.
Gadaffi is oficialy almost worse then Hitler.
Even if you show it to them, it won't matter. They'll probably tell you that those kids shouldn't be on the street, or that they're trained terrorist lol.

These leaders are disgusting, god rid the middle east and the rest of the world from them.

The report says Pyongyang sent a message to its embassy in Libya telling about 200 North Korean workers not to return.
Ah yes, when every other nation is doing all it can to save their citizens and bring them out of a warzone, North Korea forbids them to leave a country where a civil war is ocurring.
How delightfully sickening.
Also I asume they will revoke their citizenship later ?

What an imbecile Kim is.
If it's about nations saving their citizens, then it's not just North Korea. There are 100s of thousands still stuck in Libya and in the borders (specially the tunisians border) with no hope of getting out or going home.
Yes I heard about that yesterday actually. Kim gets the lynching for the reason why :/
Lol also at france getting all steamy over Italy issuing free EU passes or something to inflowing migrants fleeing the conflicts.
Passing each other the burden.

But how many states forbid their citizens of going back home ?
More than one actually come to my mind. I mean, even not sending an airplane or a ship is kind of like forbidding them from going home.

-NATO airstrikes outside Ajdabiya destroyed 25 tanks earlier today.
-AU (African Union) leaders have arrived in Tripoli, and are expected to meet Gaddafi tonight.
News yesterday was gushing about how "clouds are gathering over the rebels" yadda yadda yadda, I wanna know what you people think, cause the day that photo from Japan started to circle around with the wrong date, they were, of course, absolutely the first in airing the information, with the wrong date.

-Al Arabiya: Yemen's President accepts Gulf countries plan. Plan calls on him to hand over power to the Vice President and form a coalition government.
Off topic guys, Gbagbo has been captured by Pro Outtara forces and taken to his headquarters.
Edit: Cyan: Hmm maybe it's more of a "yay its the north's turn to takeover now". I dnt know much about this in general to make an informed judgement but the pro ouattara forces dn't give me the same civilian feel as in Tunisia,Egypt that would make me call this a people's revolution. Many have been rumoured to be mercenaries from Burkina and compared to Libya with al quaeda it's easier to believe this rumour seeing the hrw reports about how they have been quite ruthless.
Tsukushima: I know right good ridance hopefully the guy who is about to come in power does things right and brings the much awaited change in IC.
No maam: Does clouds over rebels mean they are losing?
By the way people we hvn't heard about Bart-Kuma for a while now.
Would the Ivory Coast be classified as a revolution?
Off topic guys, Gbagbo has been captured by Pro Outtara forces and taken to his headquarters.
Awesome. He won't be missed.
Libyan rebels reject African Union peace plan.[hide]
Libyan rebels have rejected an African Union peace plan because it did not address their main demand that Muammar Gaddafi quit and because it proposed reforming a ruling system they want removed.
"The African Union initiative does not include the departure of Gaddafi and his sons from the Libyan political scene, therefore it is outdated," rebel council head Mustafa Abdel Jalil told a news conference in Benghazi on Monday.
He said the rebel council demanded Gaddafi leave from the very first day it was set up.
Council spokesman Hafiz Ghoga also told the news conference: "The initiative speaks of reforms from within the Libyan system and that is rejected."
Earlier in the day, an African Union delegation held talks with the rebel leadership in the opposition's Benghazi stronghold.
South Africa's Jacob Zuma, leading the delegation of five African presidents, said Gaddafi had accepted its initiative, including a ceasefire.
Zuma did not travel from Tripoli to Benghazi with the rest of the delegation, to the surprise of the rebels, but issued a statement when he got home saying the mission was "a huge success".
The AU mission was met with scepticism as rebels said they would only agree to a ceasefire if Muammar Gaddafi's forces were to be withdrawn from towns and streets, and freedom of expression was permitted across Libya.
Representing the African Union, the delegation, which met with Gaddafi on Sunday, had announced that he accepted a roadmap to peace, but refused to say whether the deal included his resignation–a key demand for rebels.
Around 200 people waving Libyan rebel flags were gathered outside the airport when the high-level African Union delegation arrived, welcoming its efforts but demanding Gaddafi's overthrow.
"The people must be allowed to go into the streets to express their opinion and the soldiers must return to their barracks," Shamsiddin Abdulmolah, a spokesman for the rebels' Transitional National Council, told the AFP news agency.
"If people are free to come out and demonstrate in Tripoli, then that's it. I imagine all of Libya will be liberated within moments."
He also demanded the release of hundreds of people who have gone missing since the outbreak of the popular uprising and are believed to be held by Gaddafi's forces
[/hide]
Mustafa Abdel Jalil.[hide]
This proposal today was determined more than a month ago, the initiative comes in line with the resolutions of the UN Security Council - including the ceasefire, protection of civilians, and granting the freedom of the Libyan people to determine their future.
Col Gaddafi during this time [this past month] did not respect these resolutions and continued to bombard civilians from the air and artillery shelling. He laid siege with militia forces and positioned security personnel in plain clothes and snipers on rooftops - which cannot allow the Libyan people to determine their future.
For more than one month, he has disregarded the UN resolutions.
You are aware how many deaths and injuries have occured this month. You are also aware how many material assets have been destroyed, how many oil fields wrecked. Therefore, this porposal presented today is outdated.
We are also aware the demands of our people from day one is that Gaddafi must step down. Therefore, any initiiative which does not include this key popular demand will not be regarded.
Muammar Gaddafi and his sons should depart immediately [applause].
If he will, to save himself, otherwise the flood of the Libyan people is heading its way to him [more applause]
We cannot negotiate the blood of our martyrs. We will die with them or be rewarded with victory.
I must extend my thanks to the international forces which have saved the lives of civilians.
Without the air strikes that have destroyed Gaddafi's forces, we would have been history. We hail their efforts and ask for more, in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution, which stipulates that, for the protection of civilians, all necessary measures must be taken in this respect.

-Revos say attacks from Gaddafi forces on the town of Misurata stepped up over the course of the day.
There's some conflicting sources on who captured Gbagbo, but let's just hope things settle down there so we can shift our full atention to Lybia.
-Saif al-Islam Gaddafi says it is time for "new blood" in the country's leadership - but that talk of his father stepping down was "ridiculous".
-Gaddafi forces bombarded the western entrance to Ajdabiyah. A witness reported about eight artillery blasts around the western entrance.
-William Hague: NATO must intensify its efforts in Libya to protect civilians from attacks by forces loyal to leader Muammar Gaddafi. Alain Juppe: NATO is not doing enough to protect civilians in Libya.
-Amnesty International: Captured rebel Libyan fighters have been found shot in the head with their hands tied behind their backs
-Libya's former Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa is traveling to Qatar to share his insight on the workings of Moammar Gaddafi's inner circle, according to a British government official.
A little insight into Gaddafi's personal life from an ex-nurse.
She did get out just in time.
-Doctors in Misurata say that shelling in the city "was very bad yesterday: ten dead, including two children, with 40 injured."
-Aljazeera: opposition fighters have taken Zintan's western gate from Gaddafi's forces. They have also prevented Gaddafi's troops from taking over the road between Nalut and Tunis.
-Revos say they have repelled attacks in two districts of Misurata after heavy shelling and street-to-street fighting there.
-Hosni Mubarak hospitalised.[hide]
Hosni Mubarak, the former Egyptian president, has been hospitalised at the Red Sea port of Sharm el-Shaikh, where he has been staying since he was ousted from power by a popular uprising on February 11.
Mubarak has kept a low profile since he stepped down from the presidency, but released an audio message earlier this week saying that he would cooperate fully with the prosecutor-general's investigations into allegations of corruption committed by his himself and family members.
Mubarak had been expected to be questioned by investigators for the first time on Tuesday in connection with corruption allegations and violence against protesters during the uprising.
The public prosecutor issued the summons on Sunday.
Mubarak's sons Alaa and Gamal have also been summoned for questioning.
The former president had suffered from a number of health problems and had undergone gallbladder surgery in the days leading up to the end of his rule.
