I wonder if Rises is a reference to "over the edge" of the animated series in which Barbara Gordon dies in a nightmare. Coincidentally, Batman becomes a fugitive and the commisioner pursues him. Bane is hired to put an end to the dark knight.
The Dark Knight Rises

-
As he should be, I honestly think the Robins and Alfred kept him sane for as long as they possibly could. If I remember correctly there was a comic where Alfred was thinking about how long Bruce could last before he got consumed by the weight of it all.
It's really a shame that this series is ending though, I really would like to see scarface done in this style. In fact, this would be a series that could honestly last until Battle for the cowl.

Rises.
Batman Begins- Bruce Wayne falls for the first time and after that the Batman legend is born.
The Dark Knight-Batman falls, his reputation has sunk, and now an outcast the fallen Dark Knight
Rises- He Rises from the fall from the last film. The Batman legend will live on, it will rise and become more than a man, a symbol.
The Dark Knight legend has risen from the chaos. -

I meant the third movie. I was just wondering if Nolan had a bit of inspiration from one of the episodes of the animated series. This was really an awesome and sad episode.

It would be a really interesting idea, if he did become consumed by the Batman thing and he basically became a social shut-in.
Maybe the presence of Cat-woman could help him overcome it.Can Bale really play the obsessive, paranoid side to Bruce from the comics?
It could make for a great character arc for this film.

I have no idea, but I'd pay good money to see him try. I don't think they would have a very good way of illustrating it without other heroes though, nothing shows that you've got problems than when you have the weakness of everyone you've met.
But the bad thing about using that in a movie theme is he never overcomes it. He pushes everyone away until he ends up completely alone in BB, and honestly if he didn't "die" in battle for the cowl, I'd see comic Bruce suffering the same fate.
It'd make for a seriously depressing movie.
Speaking of which… I need to finish BFTC.
-
I'm pretty sure that Bale can do anything.
No seriously. He has had so many varied roles in his career and he's done them all fantastically.
I'm sure he could pull it off, Bill.
-
The more I see, the more I think that the iconic "Bane breaking Batman" is a likely thing.

I'm kind of thinking along the lines of that, too. Plus he could've been in the hospital due to his back being broken by Bane.
"But Mr. Zoro, you silly faggot! He had an oxygen mask thingy! Bane breaks his spine, not his lungs you idiot lololol" It's just a possibility, is all I'm saying.
-
It looked like Batman was about to cage fight someone. Probably Bane. I'm really curious where nolan is going with this.
-
I hate Nolan I ll probably go watch the new Sherlock instead..

Needless to say that Gary Oldman was awesome as Gordon. I am amazed by how different his roles are.
If there is a role that will forever stick with me it is that one.

You STFU and get a good taste in movies…
..and whats with your horrible homosexual avatar ?

After seeing the trailer in the theatre before the Harry Potter showing, I realized that the person in the hospital bed was Gary Oldman, NOT Christian Bale.
I really am a silly faggot.

Anyway I liked the teaser at the start of Deathly Hallows. Gordon's speech and the bat buildings were well done.

Agreed. I thought that the "every hero has an end" was sorta cheesy. I really like the tone of the trailer, it felt very tragic and pessimistic.
I really praise the marketing for the Nolan movies because they don't reveal much of the plot.

I agree 100%. I hate it when trailers give away the entire plot… If they really wanted to spark interest to the masses, they should hint at the conflicts and leave people guessing.
For example (in terms of giving away the plot), the ... Breaking Dawn trailer... I've never read the books (honestly tried reading the first, but lost interest), but that trailer gave away the plot. Bella gets married, Jacob gets pissed, Edward gets jiggy with it, and Bella's baby chomps down.
And do they really need to make that movie into two parts? If anything, it looks like they're milking the cash cow.

Agreed. I was kinda of mad that Fox spoiled (Is there anything they can do right ?) a lot of key scenes of X men first class. From my point of view, they did not seem to put a lot of hope in this movie, it turned out to be the surprise success of the summer. They really suck at everything and they made horrible posters.
Speaking of that, the dark knight posters were amazing and memorable. They were stylistically gorgeous and intriguing (I love the cards campaign).
One of my problems with US video games and movies posters is that they tend to focus too much on the cast of characters. For instance, the american cover shows us the whole cast explicitely (especially the hot chick in the middle when she is not the main character). Whereas, the european and Japanese covers focus more on the origami and the theme of rain. I thought this was more memorable and interesting. It seems that marketing products to americans is more about visual whereas Japanese tend to be more about curiosity and symbolism. I think stimulating imagination and curiosity is more important.

^That's cuz MURIKA.
I couldn't stop laughing during this trailer because I couldn't understand a word Gordan was saying. It reminded me of Bale's Batman voice and I lost it.
"WhUUR ID DSHE?!"

New officially released teaser!
-
Ahhh, so nice to hear Liam Neeson's speech again. Such a wonderful Ra's Al Ghul.
But awwww, poor Gordon!! Did Bane break him too!?
-
I have just noticed that there was some dude standing in the background when Batman was facing Bane. I wonder who is it.
I have rewatched Begins and Liam Neeson was really awesome. It is amazing how George Lucas wasted his potential because I think he would have been a perfect villain of the prequels.
Bane's mask reminds me a lot of Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid.
-
I have just noticed that there was some dude standing in the background when Batman was facing Bane. I wonder who is it.
I have an idea, but I won't say it yet. It could be an arkham inmate Bane helped busted out and is now acting as his sorta henchmen, or someone with a bigger role in things….
-
Does anyone still think Bane is going to be a luchadora? Otherwise it wouldn't make much sense if he can beat batman without much fighting experience.
-

To be honest dude, I think this Bane is going to vastly different from the comics in many ways. Notice in the press release Nolan said he is going give a 'unique interpretation' to him.
Also to those who don't know who Bane is….
-
Nevermind, figured it out, I had the Batman: Bane oneshot as a kid and it seemed to imply Bruce was in the suit. Turns out it was Valley. Never knew that.
-
I thought Bruce was in that mechanical suit. Right?
Nope. His replacement that was more violent than him.

The fight in this film might go down like this.
-
You gotta admit, this is pretty fucking awesome:
-
I saw the trailer at the premiere for Harry Potter. In exchange for the awfulness that is Twilight I got the Dark Knight Rises trailer, which did indeed look pretty awesome. We'll just have to wait and see but I think it's going to be good. We all know that Nolan is a very talented director and can make some really epic films.

New officially released teaser!
I can't believe I missed this the first time.
At 1:24, in the background, there is someone standing around in what looks like a white suit watching Bats and Bane fight.
Could this be Strange? The Riddler? Hush? Some other villain? Or just some random nobody?
No matter what, I have the feeling that it's Joseph Gordon-Levitt in that white suit.
-

.Ooh. I didn't know about that guy.
I've had a feeling from the start that Nolan would do two things. Keep one major character a secret. And lie about one of the characters. For the latter, I've suspected that JGL's character is not who Nolan claims him to be, which is why I assumed that he was whoever was in the background.
Now I'm not so sure about that.
Also, I don't think that's a henchman. Mainly because I don't feel that the only mysterious part of the entire teaser would be a nobody.
Also, in Nolan's films, the henchmen tend to be taken out of the picture every time before Bats faces off with one of the villains, so it seems odd that there would be 1 left over to just pace around and watch the fight.

Yeah I was just throwing out there. Also I always knew Bane wasn't going to be the main villain, he doesn't have that angle Strange has on pushing Batman.
Bane will clearly be someone different, like a Max Cort like type of character that Strange will most likely manipulate and use a drug to make him strong enough fight Batman. Also take in consideration of Oldman's comment about the villain
I think it's a villain from one of the old, old, from way back from the old comics. It is a Batman villian… It's not going to be the Joker.
If I told you who the villain was, they'd kill me.http://geektyrant.com/news/2011/3/9/gary-oldman-talks-about-an-old-school-batman-villain-in-the.html
Strange debuted shortly before Joker and Catwoman in the 40's and Nolan has denied Penguin and Riddler and Goyer has said he wants to use a villain that hasn't been used in live action film before. Riddler and Catwoman, Penquin have used before so the number one candidate is…......! Hugo Strange
I expect him to be revealed last.
-
That is amazingly awesome.

Well if it is a villain there is only one villain that can potentially be that person, going by the movies anyway, Harvey "Two Face" Dent since he, at least going by the ending clip of the Dark Knight, appears to be alive.
-
Dent was clearly dead.
Dent's fall was a mirror of Batman's own. I mean seriously. White Knight vs Dark Knight.
Dent was everything Wayne wanted. A true successor to Batman. So when Dent (literally) fell, so did Batman.
(Also, I still love that they had him fall to his death, I mean, that's as symbolic as it gets.)
Also, it'll be kind of hard to fake his death. They held a public funeral. All it takes is for him to show his face and everything at the end of TDK is completely pointless.
-

…..............
No.
Nolan and Eckhart has verified that Two Face is dead. Really he was clearly dead by the end, why do people keep assuming he was alive?

Yeah and Sakurai said Brawl was the last SSB and guess what? theres another one coming and did you see the clip at the end of the Dark Knight credits?

What exactly is this angle that Hugo Strange would have on Batman that Bane wouldn't? Would it be deducing Batman's secret identity? Because Bane did that. Among other things. He's not the idiot that he was made out to be in Batman&Robin and some of the other media. Bane Broke the Bat. Not only physically, but mentally.
-
Sno is right. Bane's a freaking genius. He could easily be the man villain.
But I still feel like something is missing.
KaizokuJinbei: No, just no.
This is a movie, not a videogame.
On top of that, this is Nolan.
He's not going to pull something like that.

No.

Bruce checked his pulse and didn't say anything. I thought they just staged his death and sent him to prison honestly.
I found it hard to believe he died because Bruce fell off a building WAY HIGHER with a woman and saved her.
-
I sorta understand your doubt.
I remember this as well.

He had armor, and used a grappling hook to lower the impact of fall(I think)
In the script it said his neck snapped.
Plus the whole ''you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain'' thing..
Nolan and Eckhart has verified he's dead. Also staging his death is really an illogical assumption considering many would have found out right now, unless you think a public funeral could work without a corpse.

People do closed casket funerals all the time. What do you think they do for sailors whose bodies are lost at sea?
I understand he's dead if Nolan says so… but the movie never made it CLEAR CUT and dry that he was dead. Why couldn't Batman shake his head? Why couldn't they show his body in the casket?
Of course I'm gonna assume something's amiss...
-

http://spinoff.comicbookresources.co…-knight-rises/That's different. Neeson will reprise the role sure , but Ra's is still dead. He will appear in a flashback of some sort. In fact Nolan never denied Neeson of returning like he did with Eckhart, plus he's going full circle with the films and tying them back to begins.
Dent might make a comeback in a flashback, like a tragic revisiting of his of public speeches about cleaning up Gotham before everything went wrong.
Also this
