I still think Coby will get Ace's fruit because he's hair is really close to the same color as Natsu in fairy tail who also has a fire power.
Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

I don't think Coby is going to get to luffy's level as I think smoker already took up the post of the man who is gonna chase luffy to the ends of the earth. In my opinion Garp is to Roger as Smoker is to Luffy. We dont need two people to fill that role and i think Oda sees that

It's so hard to tell sarcasm over AP. Please tell me your joking.
-
I believe Oda won't kill any of the strawhats, it just wouldn't make sense. Ace also died for it to not happen.
It will be most likely the case for everyone except Luffy and nami.
If they truly are the equivalent of Roger and Rouge. Nami might go through the same ordeal as Rouge and Luffy might be executed. However, I am not sure this will happen myself because Luffy has to differ or exceed the previous PK in some way.

I second this…

But the manga has stated time and time again that in order for Coby and Luffy to honor themselves and their freindship, as well as respect the other's choices, they will have to fight all out when and if they do ever fight. Anything less would be dishonorable.

I think Coby, at some point in the story, will be an admiral. Most probably at the very end and he'll be there to stop the SH's at raftel, it'll be a very emotional battle and Luffy & co will have there hands full with Coby and his crew. At least, that is how I'd like it to go
I agree with this 100%! I think that would make a very epic battle indeed.

Also Coby getting Ace's fruit would piss Luffy off and Luffy never defeated Ace so it would give him a chance to beat someone with Ace's fruit.
Also Coby wants to be a ADMIRAL and they all seem to use Logia fruit and Ace's fruit was a Fire/Flame Logia.@mdmartin101:

2 year time skip,Ace dying and Whitebeard dying people also thought these things would not happen either.

Actually a good amount of people DID predict that Ace, and Whitebeard would die. And while not everyone expected a timeskip, a good amount of the Manga Forum predicted a time skip of reasonable length.
But your basis for this was that Coby would get Ace's fruit because he has hair like Natsu. Now trying to put reason into this.
I think it would be better to show Coby becoming an Admiral without having a Logia fruit. And I don't think it's much of a reason to give Coby the fruit so Luffy can finally beat the man using the fruit, because Ace and Coby are different fighters. If Coby does indeed get Ace's fruit, it will be used in a very different manner. Oda has stressed that it doesn't matter who has what fruit, because that person will use it to complement their fighting style and personality.
-
That doesm't mean that they won't be on equal levels one day.
Luffy's going to become the Pirate King and no one will be able to stop him.
@Sonic:
^ Except Trafalgar Law perhaps:ninja:
Ah, sorry, I totally forgot the thread name when I posted that alone, my post was directed to @Ferdallstar one.
I don't think what I said is a theory because I have a lot of confidence it will happen anyway. It will be most likely the case for everyone except Luffy and nami.

I don't think they are and even so if they are it doesn't have to be the case of them to go dying like that.
By the way I do believe in the final war after Laftel and everything about it so I don't see a reason why they would die after completely changing the world.@thread For the Admiral gotta be Logia thing: Sengoku was an admiral once and he has a zoan, Garp could of have been one aswell and he has no fruit.
-
-
@S.C.:
Actually, it's a Mythical Zoan.
Oops, nevermind, I knew it but wrote the wrong thing, thanks for pointing out, I'll edit it. But still, it doesn't require it to have a logia to be an admiral.

Are you a LuffyxNami shipper?

Luffy and Nami are not in love, people. -
You gotta admit that TS Nami looks a lot like Portgas D Rouge. We don't need to be told that they are in love in order to know that.
-
NO to the power of infinity!
-
I agree. Oda has not out in any hints that Nami and Luffy have any romantic feelings for each other. But who knows it might happen.
-
With the current chapters focusing on Hodi and Vander Dekken, the majority's attention has been taken off Caribou. In fact he has been somewhat misplaced in the equation of major villian. I believe this guy will be the major asshole of this arc. I mean the guy has the potential and power to become one. He is ruthless and sadistic, not to mention cunning and manipulating and he has a DF fruit, a logia at that. He wants to get rid of the SH and has the means to take out Vander Dekken and Hodi. I'm calling it, Caribou will be the master of them all.
-
Even after 11 years there are still people how think, they can predict Oda. Lol
-
The log pose of the new world may bear a resemblance to Shiki's Log pose.
-
He is hard to predict but not totally unpredicatable.
I remember predicting things like (no lies), Zoro was sent to Mihawk's home, Nami crying for Luffy after the war.
WG winning the war.

He said he would put no romance in onePiece (Hancock does not count)

Aaaah… The spirits of the future are coursing their wisdom on to me... Yes! Whisper this to me oh ethereal ones...
Here goes:
Neptune is the next crewmate.
Nami is Blackbeard's daughter.
Shanks has the Tree fruit - He can turn into a tree at will.
New World Log Pose has a Different pull... it reacts to bacon.
Kaidou is a jedi (appearently One Piece is a Star Wars precursor??)
Big Mam is a woman who has the Penis fruit, and her signature move is Cockslap.
Usopp will eat the truth fruit, so everything he says will become truth, in his lifetime. It's fun to do these predictions
This type of thing belongs in the dumb predictions thread, not this one which is for legitmate theories you actually believe have a chance
-
This is exactly why this thread was created. Speculating is fun, just simply waiting for things to pop up is boring.
-
You gotta admit that TS Nami looks a lot like Portgas D Rouge. We don't need to be told that they are in love in order to know that.
Ugh.
Seriously dude, give up. Oda is not going to make Nami and Luffy fall in love. He said so himself NO ROMANCE. -

Ah… My mistake. It seemed a bit out of place too.
I'm starting with dumb ones and working my way up
-
I think it is a smart idea to leave out the romance. It seems to get in the way, in sometimes people obsese over the romance and don;t pay atention to the actual story.

There is indeed love for the Straw Hats Oda has said so himself in an SBS.
….THEIR LOVE FOR ADVENTURE.
-
I don't want stupid romance either but that does not mean nothing is going on between the characters or nothing will happen between them. Besides Oda loves to put a lot of hints in his story and finding them is part of the fun.
I think it is gonna end up like DBZ. A TS and we see who is with who.
-
A post New World timeskip… Now that would be legendary.
I'd like to see a space arc featuring Vegapunk as the strawhats' spaceship carpenter.
A lot of people think that the story has to end at the end of the world. But I personally think that the world is not enough.
About love in one piece, Luffy is the only one who would ever display something like that (since everyone's elses would be off screened and timeskipped like sanji499 said) But he wouldn't ever. His stereotypical character ain't like that.
I'd see one thing break his stubbornness, and that would be the accomplishment of his "Will" that is D.
But it's pretty hard to scratch that D thing at this junction
-
i have a theory that there's a way for BB to lose one of his DFs. Like it's not permanent or something.

i think i rephrased that wrongly, sorry. i just have a theory that he can lose one his DFs. I don't know the means per se.
-
My theory :
Skypiea = Poseidon(god of sea)
FI = Zeus (God of sky)

The DBZ factor was the whole "what the fuck" concept and for humor only.
Nami/Luffy is not a WTF pairing. If Oda is going to pull a DBZ he's not going to go for LuNa. He's going to go for something more random and mindblowing. -
Has this one been mentioned before?
Two possible explanations for Zoro's poor sense of direction (or lack thereof):
-
His internal compass is affected by the surrounding magnetic fields. If you think about it, back in EB, he rarely would get lost. By the time they get into the Grand Line, it slowly degenerated into a lack of directional focus. Oh, it's more than just a gag…
-
It's the curse placed upon him after acquiring the Sandai Kitetsu. The problem only subtly was shown in Loguetown, so it wasn't very clear at the time. By the time they arrive in the Grand Line, the curse began to empower itself.
Following these two ideas, I wonder if there will be a time in the New World when Zoro gets lost to the point that he bends time and space. If each island in the NW follows its own physics, then there may be some plausibility to such an incident.
(BTW, if anyone actually takes these theories seriously, I'm not sure how to respond.)
Edit: So someone did take this seriously. Oh, nothing's bad about that. I'm just curious to see how others would respond.
-
-
What's so bad about taking theory #2 seriously? Sandai Kitetsu is cursed, after all, and its implications don't have to be as outlandish as time-space distortion…I think the main point could hold up just fine, and it would be totally legitimate.
Now, for a real non-serious theory:
*Stefan (Whitebeard's dog) will appear in-canon the next time Luffy meets Marco. Stefan to March is as Pwngoat to Sengoku.

To be honest that sounds good but the first one could be ruined by the fact that Oda wrote Strong World and Zoro does get lost a lot there, even tho it's a bit filler and he could ignore that but since he wrote I'd take that in account.
It would be fun if it was indeed the case but I do believe is just a running gag. xD -

strawhats crew have to climb the red line like fisher tiger did and the main battle happens there (or maybe the start of a new arc)

I've been believing this can happen since I don't find much plausible to go to Mariejoa again after we live the middle of the red line.
-

Yeah man, I can't possibly imagine how we'd ever find our way back to the headquarters of the main antagonistic force in the series.
-
Whitebeard has a dog? Wtf? where?
-
He can catch mustaches.
-
-
Since they mentioned that the new Marine HQ is on the other side of the red line right after fisherman island. I am guessing that there will be some kind of major confrontation between the marines and the straw hats. The marines will probably send their best soldiers available and I am hoping Smoker will be summoned.

I think it's to soon for Smoker. We'll probably see the new Fleet Admiral, some confrontation with Marine HQ and the Strawhats, which ends with them escaping with Coup De Burst. Then we'll most likely see Smoker being notified the Strawhats are in the New World, and possibly find out his new rank.

Of course it's possible but I do believe if it is to happen is more likely now. I think the final war will be at the new HQ, from what was said it seems kind of close to the red line but we don't know how much close. The Admirals used to be really near Mariejoa, now they aren't that much anymore so it'd be easier now than before.
