If the funimation One Piece is being shown anywhere on TV and it boosts DVD sales then this is more and more of a good thing. If sales are good enough then retail prices will drop and they will be more inclined to dub more of the show.

The point I'm trying to make is that where you'd prefer it, where it would be better suited or where it should be is irrelevant.

If it is going to get any bigger and any more exposure, it needs to get anywhere it can, regardless of a few prospective edits.

Oh no i should've clarified I wasn't thinking about Enies Lobby and Marineford when I was talking about gunfire and stuff I was assuming it would start from episode 1 meaning that EL and Marineford would be really really far away. I'm mostly thinking of the East Blue, Baroque works and Skypiea sagas when I think of this thread. Besides that i mean toonzai is just terrible. That's basically my arguement. I'll aggree to have OP on another network but not toonzai. End of DISCUSSION (still pointing out that u didn't finish ur sentence before u just said "end of"….............)

Well my position isn't really so black and white. Ultimately and above all else, if we wish for the anime to be popular outside of Japan it's a necessity it gets shown on T.V. If we're putting One Piece getting shown to the viewing world above everything else (which includes suffering through terrible 4kids edits) than we'll probably need to take what we can get.

Well it's more than just the plot i found their edit kinda racist to be honest and i still hold this thought I mean honestly it was. I know what your getting at and I somewhat aggree with u but this isn't just for non-fans many fans would want to see it on tv as long as it's not heavily edited which is exactly what toonzai will do. They'll get more views if they hand OP over to a reliable channel like CN (unlikely), nicktoons or the Hub, because then they'll get the non-fans which will lead to everything u said and the fans which means more views which means more popularity which means that literally EVERYONE wins.

Despite that, In the interest of fairness, most of the opposition against the notion of handing it to toonzai comes from the cut story arcs and devices that did affect the plot the last time it was on that channel. It should at least be understandable why their views are like that.

There's plenty of other factors to consider aside from just putting it back on T.V no matter who the distributor. If it isn't handled well it'll only be a matter of time before it's cancelled again. Funimation coming out with their brand new dub at the time that it did couldn't save a thing due to the damage inflicted by the past dubbers.

Well, I've gotta admit, you're right about that. Plus, it's been a while since the show has been on T.V which means a fresh, new, and young audience is in the wait for something spectacular to blow their minds. It definately could work.

Yea i understand ur point and I think it's good and i didn't even think about the merchandise that would be really great but i still don't want it on toonzai. I'm just saying they shouldn't go for it. I'm sure nicktoons or the hub would be better and I think we have a pretty good chance at getting OP on one of those two stations

Seeing the other thread you've just posted, maybe Toonzai isn't looking like such a bad idea after all.

The main difference with now and back then is that the 4kids dub was ALL we had. Now at least the uncut stuff is still available on DVD. It doesn't matter if the TV version is cut to a degree, as long as its getting its name out there and making an impression on a new wave of kids.

With the timeskip coming up, there isn't really a better place for a new audience to jump on board.

Any TV channel is better then none. As SympathyX been saying, we don't have the luxury to be picking and choosing. Any channel that is willing to host One Piece is better then right now. I don't mind seeing a dub with guns and blood being edit out. I saw up to 100 episodes without the blood via 4Kids like that and still enjoyed it. Kids under 11 can do the same thing as well. Still unlike myself, they be having it with a better dub.

The Marineford anime was gimped in the first place. If it was a bit more like it was in the manga then yeah it'd have been harder but you make it sound as if it was some Guy Richie movie. It wasn't.

It was no more or less violent than your average Dragon Ball arc. Complaining about edits or wondering how it would come across isn't the attitude we need anyway. TV exposure is TV exposure. That is whats most important.

Yea it wasn't even edited clearly enough if u look really closely u can still see the black or sometimes it's just overlaps it looks like a little kid took every frame and tried to fill in the drawings

Toonzai would want dbz kai on their channel for money, it's not just funimation who proposes their shows to other channels! They do it, but not all the time. Toonzai probably saw dbz's success on nicktoons and decided they wanted it! Why? For money! Yea so it's good it got publicity but it's not the only thing being discussed in this thread. If their buying the DVDs and getting up ratings what does it matter?

As I mentioned before… this kind of exposure could get you localised version of games, more import merchandise, more chances of books from Viz, all kinds.

The german version of OP was cut to hell. Unnecessary in most places but hell, they were up to date in the manga and didnt need a huge catchup like the US had, the anime is running right up into Impel Down at the moment and we've had the Cruise games and Gigant Battle released in Europe.

The difference is that they didnt even get uncut DVDs. You still have the choice. If this gets more kids into One Piece than it's not a bad thing.

Seriously think of how many people are on youtube who complain about dbz kai on toonzai. That's how many people aren't going to watch dbz kai. It may be a lot or it may be a little but either way u keep talking about publicity and views and shit but there are already a lot of people who aren't going to watch toonzai. I didn't even see that post about the ratings of dbz though, so I guess it still gets a pretty good amount of views. Still, this isn't just about publicity. Again u dont live in America so u arent thinking about the opinions of the viewers if we were talking about the UK I would be doing the same thing.

As I mentioned before… this kind of exposure could get you localised version of games, more import merchandise, more chances of books from Viz, all kinds.

The german version of OP was cut to hell. Unnecessary in most places but hell, they were up to date in the manga and didnt need a huge catchup like the US had, the anime is running right up into Impel Down at the moment and we've had the Cruise games and Gigant Battle released in Europe.

The difference is that they didnt even get uncut DVDs. You still have the choice. If this gets more kids into One Piece than it's not a bad thing.

You definitely got a point there, but I don't think people who get up early on saturday morning to watch cartoons are actually able to afford buying the DVDs. And even if they want it for birthdays/Christmas and what not, there's a good portion of parents who don't want to buy a show with a TV14 rating for their children.

Being aired weekly on saturday mornings is completely different from what DBZ, Naruto and pretty much any other popular anime had anyway: daily airings on a popular network in primetime. DBZ bombed twice before it actually became popular on CN and I don't think OP would do all that differently.
