@Ryuksgelus:
Every single arc boss has either hyped and completely obvious before the actual arc got moving or were introduced late. Decken and Hodi follow neither pattern.
What exactly is "before the actual arc got moving"? As far as I'm concerned every arc boss save the admirals, yonkou, and shichibukai were hyped in the same arc they were in. I do not see the relevance in "before the actual arc got moving". Kreig got hyped in the baratie arc, not before it, same with Arlong, Wapol, Enel, etc. Not before.
I'd like to know what you mean by hyped and hyped by who anyway? The fans or the story? Cuz from the story there's been considerable "hype" for VDD and Hodi, Oda's even showcased some of Hodi's skill.
Still likely someone more important than them is pulling strings.
No it's not likely, it's a baseless assumption fans have made because they are not satisfied with the current enemies.
Its the EXACT same premise. Croc set things up so there would be a civil war and he could do his thing. Here someone gave Hodi a little push to cause some civil unrest so said person can do their thing.
Only difference is Croc actually had to do a lot of work to make things go badly. Here the villain just had to give events a little push.
That and then more frequently mentioned during W7. We get to SA which we assume would be Jaya to FI but instead we are thrown more than 2 years of course. During the departure we are still given bits of info about the place and certain key figures.
Oh so you're still talking under the premise that some bigger badder enemy is pulling the strings. So let me guess this guy is providing Hodi drugs and got VDD hooked on Princess Shira?
The whole idea of some guy in the shadows planning all this out is extremely baseless to me and is in no way like the Alabasta arc or a simpler version of Croc's plan. It is in NO WAY the exact same premise. It's laughable you'd argue this when this guy pulling the strings hasn't even revealed himself yet.
You don't consider such info hype?
What does this part of the discussion have to do with hype? I said no to what you said about it being a simpler version of Croc's plan. Since Croc's plan wasn't just destroy a kingdom.

What the hell are you talking about here? How is that hype? Exactly why wouldn't they talk about Fishman island at Water 7 when fishman island was the NEXT island?
Just because Oda had a plan of what he was going to do with Ace, the war, the new era, death of a yonkou, Blackbeard, and a couple other things and did that instead of going straight to fishman island does not mean he was hyping fishman island.
No. I do not consider meeting a key figure or info about the island before the crew goes there as hype, especially when the island is the next destination. Maybe we have different definitions of hype. The way I've seen it the hype was fan created. It was mentioned early and fans immediately wanted to get there especially when it was said to be next after W7. Yes, it was a long wait but I don't see where Oda was hyping the island so all of you could assume it'd be one of the most amazing arcs in the story.
