Well i could see either Zoro being with her already or she falls in love with Brook/Luffy gives vander dekken a reason to go all out on strawhats.

Well then I`m begging Oda not to let it be Luffy, one influential person to go all crazy over mr Strawhat is quite enough thank you.

After all the crap Sanji's been through, I think this maybe some compensation.

In what way would it be compensation? I dont quite get your point i`m afraid

Well, it's like Sanji saying "Well, I spent two years living with Okamas, I have a poorly-drawn bounty and I nearly died and got blood from Okamas among other things, but hey at least the Mermaid Princes digged me".

Oh you meant the Mermaid Princess would take a liking to him instead! Well yes, that would be a pretty fair compensation. Then again, a bit overcompensating perhaps even.
yea if the mermaid princess even shows a lil bit her liking to him… sanji's gonna bleed to death..
I really think that the Mermaid princess might gonna be the one that needs saving this arc. And who knows, I thinkt its plausible that she might be a candidate to join the straw hats. After all, Van der Decken is probably after her.
What if….the Mermaid princess is FUGLY ?
What if….the Mermaid princess is FUGLY ?
after having seen his brothers i had my doubts too, but she´s said to be one of the most beatiful women in the world
I think Lola said once that she was even more beautiful than Hancock…

No it was the Risky brothers. And they didn't say she was more beautiful. Just that her beauty would amaze even her.
Something I found.
Zoe, has the number 02, written on him.
And Namur has the number 8 written on him.
Both are fishmen, so this might be more then a coincidence.

Namur was also the 8th Division Commander of the Whitebeards, so it's probably about that.
Well currently, these "evil drugs" seem to consist of some sort of fishman steroid.
But I'm interested to know if it has anymore uses.
Like per-say if Hyozou took them, would they unlock some sort of special ability?
Would he be able to cut at incredible speeds?
And I'd really like to see Daruma on the drugs. That would be extremely entertaing.
Oh!! What if he made the drugs? It was stated that he might be a match for Chopper. So it would make some sense (in my mind at least).
Even if he isn't, we are gonna get some Chopper action where he explains in greater detail how they work. And when he does he will tell us if they work on humans themselves.
I honestly don't think so. Since they seem to be drugs made to fight against the humans and for fishmen.

Damn was hoping for more of a connecting.
Alright, ignore my stupidity.

A tiny drugged out fish, that loves to eat people, fighting against a character constantly mistaken as food?
I could see that happening.
Oh yeah. Hodi Jones took four pills.
It was explained that taking two pills multiplies a fishmans strength will "double" two fold.
So what does four pills means that it multiplies two fold more than that?
I honestly don't think so. Since they seem to be drugs made to fight against the humans and for fishmen.
I don't think humans and fishmen/merfolk are that different. They're probably the same species, regardless of how very few of either species admit to it.

Well we haven't really gotten to explore him that much. But I see your point.
As of right now at least, it doesn't seem likely. But again, in my mind it made sense. I guess I should have put more thought into it. =/ Well whatever.
I'm just wondering what that little guy can do. I hope he just stays small and just goes nuts.
I think Doflamingo is related to the drugs!! and he's the final boss

Doflamingo is in the new world and the island is control by Big Mama.
She would have went there if one of the 7 warlords was at it which is probly why Jinbe had to leave the island being a former warlord.
Hmmm… Defeating Doflamingo and becoming the boss of the New Era would be a good starting point...
Those pills are Omega 3
well he did have a slave trade but this might be Big Mam's operation. Or it could be just Hodi's thing he doing by himself

The impression I got was each pill doubles his strength every time. Not that it is that important to keep track, all we need to remember is that it makes him really strong.
And I disagree with some who think Hodi won't be the arc villain. I beleive he will be.
The Hammerhead also strongly looks like an opponent for Franky.
why people keeps insisting that the Strawhats will only fight the antagonists similar to them? The big dude with the hammer against Franky, the swordsman against Zoro or Brook…
Remember that back on W7 and EL franky fought against Nero and Fukurou. He could´ve fight Blueno, he even met Blueno before those arcs! But no
Maybe it´ll happen, and Zoro/Brook vs Hyouzou seems possible... But dont say random stuff like Chopper´s gonna fight Daruma coz both are tiny, or thing like that e.e

Zoro had a fight with another swordman in that EL arc and Luffys main fight was against the strongest fighter, Sanji had a fight against someone with out weapons as his main fight as well.
I still think Van Dekkens crew will be the main enermys however so we can't really guess yet.

The first two here are very bad examples :getlost:

I think Van Dekken will turn out to be a good guy.
Perhaps he will be a wild card, as well as Caribou.
OR, Van Dekken will be the one who marries the princess and the kingdom lives happily ever after.
What? Its not like anyone else has said something different. =/

Thank god we don't have scouters in this show.
Cuz his power level would probably be like "ITS OVER 1,000,000!!!"
Its true that all we need to know is that it doubles his strength.
But do you think this "evil drug" will play some sort of plot point within the new world? I know it sounds like the dumbest coup-out of all time. But what if these "evil drugs" are being bought and sold because people are wanting to get stronger.
If this is true, then Don Flamingo would most likely be behind much of the business that this has. Meaning we might get to see him soon.
They're made of Ivankov. S/he's stuck in Big Mum's Candy Factory running on a treadmill and they're freezing his/her sweat into pills. S/he looks so good now that s/he doesn't care. (^_^)
On some level I guiltily hope that the first arc is going to be like the intro arc for a new group in a battle manga, a series of effortless victories/surprise OHKO's. Especially Usopp - stopping avalanches or no, he still seems a bit of a crybaby thus far and I'd love to see some of that Batman spirit that let him make Luffy get semi-serious. (Also more on Sogeking now being his mentally ill alternate persona!)
Oda is too far in to have the arc be this obvious I think - it's basically:
a) Oda gives a redemption point (but NOT a 'Join the crew!' chance) to Hodi et al. They're just freedom fighters in their way!
If yes, HUZZAH!
If no, go to b)
b) Oda has someone SUPER-SERIAL turn out to be involved (Yonkou/WG/Shichibukai, basically) and masterminding this all for ULTERIOR MOTIVES.
If yes, HUZZAH!
If no, WTF Arlong Park II - but probably go to c)
c) We expect the fights to be involved but the new Strawhat powers just massacre everyone.
OR
d) It's a colossal disappointment.
OR
e) Oda proves once again he's much smarter than me. :P

yeah, im quite aware, but its tiring to see "zoro´ll fight a swordsman, sanji´ll fight a weaponless antagonist, nami´ll fight a girl, etc…" no matter how true has this been before
it started to annoy me that time some members started matching up the SH vs the Kurohige Kaizoku...

Thats just Oda's way of writing.
I suppose he feels that is the coolest and most badass route to take.
Frankly I don't really care right now. I just want to see everyone in action.
I don't see the problem with predicting fights, especially with Zoro. Obviously he's going to fight the most powerful swordsmen. He has done so almost every arc and he needs to in order to accomplish his dream.
Maybe there will be a kind of a "Secondary main villain" that everyone from the SH's will fight, to like show off their skillz….
sanji usually fights someone who is experienced in some form of martial arts (kurroobi, jyabura, mr. 2). I'm looking at Zeo. He gives off the impression that he's one of the top fighters.

Well, that will probably be either Jones or Decken, depending which of the two is the main villain.

I get that impression from him too, maybe because of his appearance, stance and plus the fact that it seems he doesn't use a weapon.

Or it could be neither of them.
Decken nor Jones give me the final villain vibe.

Another similarity to Skypeia (in the way Eneru didn't appear until later)? I don't have a problem with them, but it's making this arc seem very predictable…
Edit: Wow, again you've done it, rubia... need to recheck my comments before posting...

You know, there are also similarities to Arlong Park.
So when people say "AHH!! THIS IS SO MUCH LIEK SKYPEIA!!!" I know you mean well, but its what Oda wants. He is using this arc as a sort of nostalgia trip. Trying to bring back old elements and remind everyone, what One Piece is about.
I think that you guys are heavily underestimating Oda's creativity by believing that Fishman Island is going to be Skypeia with names changed.

sorry, this is unrelated but i couldn´t sent you a PM D:
thanks for using my Hyouzou fanart as your avatar!! It makes me happy >3<

That wasn't my point. I love it that Oda's bringing in the nostalgia. Whatever similarities or references from past arcs (it's much more than just Skypeia and Arlong Park, you know) just brings back so many happy memories. Besides, the story outline is still completely different. There will still be plenty to try a guessing game with.
It's moving a bit slowly, but "slow and steady wins the race" sometimes. I am the hare in that case.
