dang it. i gotta go watch the 3rd one.
Pirates of the Caribbean
-
-
Well the only thing i can see Bloom and Knightly coming back for is For the Fountain of Youth. I mean gotta suck for William he only gets to see her every 10 years, while he won't age she will, and eventually die. But aside from that their story is over. Anyways not a big fan of PotC, so won't see this in theaters, just wait until it's out on DVD and my friend buys it.
-
i thought i heard that bloom and whatserface didnt want to come back
-
i thought i heard that bloom and whatserface didnt want to come back
Yeah, you heard right, I remember reading that too.
-
Aw, that sucks.
I couldn't care less about Keira Knightley, but the interactions between Jck and Will were freaking GOLD.
-
I'd be happy with just Jack and Barbossa x3 they were AMAZING together… I mean I love Bloom, but his story was already told and ended pretty much. There's not much left for him to do but see his wife every 10 years... kinda boring xD but with Jack we could see MORE antics... I mean lets be honest he was totally the star of the movies anyways xDD
-

They can get a new straight man.
-
But it won't be the saaaaaame~
-
Meh, we don't need Will and what's her face in the story anymore. Their tale is done. We just need to focus on Jack. No seriously, I can never get tired of his antics XD
-
@Thousand:
I can never get tired of his antics XD
Are you SURE about that?
-
I don't think it would be based on the book. I read the plot summary and nothing is mentioned of the Fountain of Youth, where I think that the 4th will be all about them searching for it based on the ending to the 3rd movie. It would be nice to see some more historical pirates like Blackbeard and Morgan.
-
I do not remember any Les Paul in the POTC that I have read, who is he? I did read the the 12 Rob Kidd did (they were awesome), and the one w/ Bill Turner too…though I haven't read the Legends of the Brethren Courts yet

Well I got a little more of the story of the Book that says
Puppeteer John Chandagnac, bound for Jamaica to recover stolen money from his uncle, becomes Jack Shandy after pirates attack his ship and force him to join their crew. Shandy’s struggle to accept his new life grounds the story for readers, even as Blackbeard and vodun magicians whisk everyone away to dreamlike lands where the Fountain of Youth itself awaits. The chaotic sea battles sing, though at times key events happen so quickly that they get lost in the shuffle as Jack tries to comprehend where he’s going and what’s at stake.

I believe it's the ghost pirate LeChuck main rival to Guybrush Threepwood of Monkey Island
-
Hm, I guessed I missed that part . I guess it is possible then.
-
Jack and Barbosa are the only two I really care about (not a fan of the romantic pairing after the first movie) so I'm really excited.

I'm still confused about this, was it only every 10 years, or how it went if his true love would stay faithful to him he'd be able to return for good after 10 years?
-

He's only able to step on land one day every 10 years, period, that is the curse of being Davy Jones, flat out, an oceanic curse. I guess he like, dissolves or something otherwise. Thats why he had to trust minions to do everything. (Seems odd that THEY can walk the land with no reprecussions, and magically teleport to other ships, and such…)
The true love had nothing to do with it, it was a seperate promise made between them that kept him human. She broke it, and he gave into the horrible monstry octopus face.
Will and Elizabaeth then made the same promise to each other, and actually kept it. She remained faithful.
What this DOESN'T explain, is why she couldn't just get on the boat WITH him. Maybe only the dead can ride itt and it kills the living to be on it too long, or something. -
I just the movies again, and i just had a genius idea. Put buckets filled with water on land, that way Will can always go visit her, just as long as he stays in the buckets of water. If Octopus face can do it why not Will. Maybe there's something i'm mising here, but as far as i can tell in the movies it doesn't mention anything about it, so it should work. As for the curse like robby said he can walk on land 1 day every 10 years, no exception.
-
The point isn't being able to walk on the land. Its being able to go have sex.
-
@robbybevard:
Are you SURE about that?
http://www.imitationpickles.org/pinkdress/contest/The%20Nanno-Captain%20Jack%20Sparrow.jpgI would actually laugh if that happened XD

The ship goes underwater.

"Disney Prepares To Replace Deppin POTC Franchise"
But that's IF Depp decides to quit. Disney is prepared to give him as much money as possible but is also prepared to find a replacement
To me, it is the equivalent of removing Spock from a Star Trek sequel.

No. No Depp, no POTC. They better pay through the noses if necessary.
-

Same here! I really don't mind if Bloom and Knightley aren't acting. I just wanna see Jack and Barbossa again :'D
So the fourth movie is really coming then? Awesommeee~! 3 Can't wait for it!
-
Was there any doubt a 4th would happen? This is Disney for crying out loud, they've just said they'd even replace Depp, one of the biggest draws of the series, if needed. If Disney sees possible money, they go for it.
-
Say what?!
Wow, she's hot and can act, and I for one think she'd be the perfect foil for Jack, and as opposed to Elizabeth, he might actually get to keep the girl this time.
Maybe there will be a love triangle between her, jack, and barbossa. that would be fun to watch!

More like removing the kirk, McCoy, spock, the ship and space itself.
Depp sets the boundaries of acting.
(weird, hard to cast characters) -
Where have I heard the name Penelope Cruz before?
-
Somewhere called Everywhere? I had to look at the pic to see what she looked like tho, I know the name but not the face.

The booklet that came with the DVD said that he could only come on land once every 10 years, but on the DVD commentary, the writers said he was free of the curse after the first 10 year wait since she was there. IE, he still had to do the Job, but he could come home to her much more often.'I'd trust the writers words over some DVD inlay booklet that could have been written by anyone.
-
I hope Penelope joins. The pirate style is really for her.

shit keeps getting better!!!

This movie just keeps sounding better and better.

Blackbeard is win!
-
HOLY SHIT BLACKBEARD!!! I'M OFFICIALLY SOLD!!!
Pirates 4 is going to be all levels of epic!!! HOGAWD!!!
-
Ian McShane will play Edward Teach, better known as the legendary pirate Blackbeard, a notorious black-bearded pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of the American colonies during the early 1700s, and famously piloted the ship Queen Anne’s Revenge. McShane will join Johnny Depp, who is reprising his role of Captain Jack Sparrow, and the recently announced Penelope Cruz, who will be playing “Sparrow’s foil and equal in many ways”, whatever that means.
Hrm. Penelope Cruz as Sparrow's foil and equal.
Wonder how much eyeshadow that will entail.
-
So spoiler ahead:
! Penelope Cruz is play Blackbeard's Daughter!!?! How fucking cool is this setup. http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/03/20/penelope-cruz-role-in-pirates-4-identified-charlotte-gainsbourg-joins-von-triers-melancholia/
Oh and mermaids, with REAl breasts!!! That casting call had me cracking up. -
Oh hey, just the other day I was saying that Penelope better not be a love interest to Jack…unless she was the daughter of Barbossa or Blackbeard, which would make it interesting.
So I'm happy. Can't wait for this. Seriously, I would watch it if it was just Jack and Barbossa stranded on a deserted island and doing stuff for two hours.
-
Zehahahahaha!
:ninja:
-
This is going to break the blockbuster in ticket sales again… sounds epic beyond words.
-
Mermaids with real breasts? Are there any other kind? Hopefully they go the long hair route and not those stupid clam bras.
-
Silicone breasts would impede with a mermaid's ability to swim properly.
-
Seriously, I would watch it if it was just Jack and Barbossa stranded on a deserted island and doing stuff for two hours.
Lmao. I so agree.
-
Mermaids don't really need the ability to swim.
-
So let me get this straight…
Elizabeth and William are no longer major factors in the story. The entire movie will be Jack, Barbossa, and their crew handling a new adventure dealing with Blackbeard and his daughter, played by Penelope Cruz .
I only have two issues:
-
I REALLY hope the romance between Jack and said daughter (and there WILL be a romance between the two, I'm betting money on it) is NOT going to be sappy and crap.
-
I would rather have Catherine Zeta Jones instead of Penelope, but that's only because I like Zeta a little bit more. I'm happy either way though.
Either way, this movie sounds like the sex!
EDIT: Dark Lord Zenigame has a good eye!
-

Er, why do you want it to be sappy?
-
-
Well the Disney Press release is out. and so far sounds awesome.
The plot:
! In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he’s not sure if it’s love–or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.
Oh and guess who's back!!!
! Rush reprises his role as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa, and Kevin R. McNally returns as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs. Claflin stars as a stalwart missionary, while Berges-Frisbey is transformed into a mysterious mermaid.
Looks like this will be the summer blockbuster next year.

Blackbeard is going to suck Johny Depp into a black hole
millions will cheer :ninja:

Kill yourself now you freaking Narutard.
Jack Sparrow and Barbossa ARE this franchise.
Jack Sparrow is the most epic character in movies ever, just end your waste of oxygen existence.
