It is simply closed… Is it so hard to understand.
Well, we don't know that yet. For all we know it could be gone entirely/damaged beyond use. But my money's still on "it's closed".

And what will happen when it will open? Will his bloodline ability appear or has his eye changed to the almighty Mihakigan?
What besides a regular eye could be behind it?
Man, these topics are getting worse every week.
Doesn't anyone actually read a few of the posts before he posts.
This is what the whole topic is like:
Hey, don't know if anyone noticed but zoro his eye is open
No it's not, it's a shadow
Where did Luffy get the air from?
NIPPLE LIGHTS!!!!
The eye isn't open
How does sanji light up his leg?
Not again, don't use physics in a manga
and this repeats itself about every 10 posts.

Needs more nipple lights
@2xN:
Yes. I have made this prediction as well.
There is a (disproven) rumor about pirates back in the day; the reason they'd wear their eye-patches is, get this, when they fought during the night time, they'd take them off so their night vision would give them an advantage in battle.
I've heard of that..
if you use real world logics in this manga, you would just end up a fool
What besides a regular eye could be behind it?
An expanded iris. And depth perception.
It's not one of those Kenpachi Ziraki deals, it's just a closed eye. You fight better with both eyes open, so Zoro keeping one eye closed means he is limiting his ability to better himself in preparation for when a serious fight calls for the use of both eyes.
Also, NIPPLE LIGHTS.
Cool chapter, loved Chopper's new guard point and Franky's upgrades. I really hope they continue to show Chopper and Luffy with stars in their eyes everytime Franky does something cyborgish. I may not like the new look, but I love the humour!
Not convinced having Robin go all giant is the best idea as this smacks of Luffy (and if Chopper's upgrades are anything to go by based on guard point, him as well) - seems a bit repititious.
I have a questions about the coating Luffy applied to his arm: is that due to him imbuing his rubber form with haki? Ie that the haki somehow vulcanised his rubber form without removing the elasticity? I wonder if the different types of haki will do different things to his body now.
Really awesome chapter!

Well at least it is better than Hakieye or wtf else. Still doubting it. If you mater CoO, what I think Zoro will, you don't need both eyes
As far as we know, CoO doesn't grant the user night vision or visual depth perception. As far as we know.

And you don't need it, when you can predict it. Rayleigh predicted attacks from behind without even lookign at it.
Come to think of it. We haven't seen Chopper's Heavy Point (that is his human form right). Brain Point = remains the same. Walk Point = bigger. Guard Point = Much bigger. Can't wait to see the rest (especially Berserk Point)
I knida see Luffy's Elephant Gun as one those police batons. And CoA is used to harden it, tha black color is just for cosmetics, u know, so we know when he's using it and when its just a regular Gear 3
Whoa Zoro sliced one tentacle into 5 pieces.. I bet Mihawk can slice the whole kraken into half! haha! I have a feeling the shark will become Shs friends! Think it might say something like thankyou for saving me after i got eaten by the kraken!
And what will happen when it will open? Will his bloodline ability appear or has his eye changed to the almighty Mihakigan?

maybe he gained some hawk eyes
camie turned into a shark..
FI was under whitebeard before he died, so it used to become a peaceful and safe place according to Jimbei. Jimbei also said that if Whitebeard died, countless pirates will try to take over FI because they have no one to be scared at anymore.
So, I think.. that shark which is obviously from FI (wearing crimin t-shirt) together with the Kraken trying to block the entrance to FI and crushing as many pirate ships as they can to protect it.
The kraken seems like it can think itself when it look worry when it saw luffy trying to attack it with haki embed fist. So it must be some character from FI just like a giant snake on Skypea.
They must be struggling hard these 2 years to protect their island :( . Poor kraken (and Mr Sharks)
Doesn't really make much sense. You say the Kraken protect's the island from pirates coming from the 1st part of the Grandline but that aren't the pirates who are a threat to the island. The real threat comes from the New World side
am i the only one who thinks caribou's an idiot?
If he can put those bubble coats on luffy zoro and sanji, then couldnt he just put one on himself, then jump out of the ship and swim back up?
There is a reason I never follow chapter threads, and this shitty discussion is reminding me of that… Too bad I'm the one trying to procrastinate, so here I am.
I honestly expected more talk about the shark or the dark CoA.... so I'm just gonna put in my two cents. I liked the connection between Sengoku's weird shading in Buddha mode.
People say if Luffy took a hit imbued with Haki he'd have been crushed, and unable to fight afterwards. I say he was crushed, and hurt quite bad, but he still fought afterwards (not the first time).
Also did anyone talk about how the Shark seems to be a bit distraught about the Krakken getting owned. It's likely they are on the same team - namely the team that's putting them there to protect Fishman Island. Oda is setting up for the Fishman Island arc I'd say. I don't think it's going to be a short arc ~~ well maybe TB length
Edit: Haha and RIGHT after I post this, I see the post about the Shark
it looks like the shark was controlling the movements of the kraken, just like how moria was inside oars' body..
Forgot about them… Did Oda make an entire crew die? :D
(Loved Zoro's remark about them looking like jelly fishes XD)
Don't think so. My theory is that when the bubble implodes, small objects inside as well as persons can get coated with a little volume of oxygen, so they can survive for a few minutes under the high pressure while they are pushed to the surface.

That's interestingly plausible, actually..
NVM I just talk random bs, becouse I'm dumb >,>
Sry for forgetting everything I read about OP, I feel so embarassed >.>
mythical zoan fruit : kraken
Kraken for new nakama.
this is not the fucking dumb predictions thread. stop posting about the shark and kraken having eaten a DF.

Oda has shown us, with Sanji, that he does not give a fuck about the usage of two eyes and all things attached.

indeed, because they'd sink, which makes any fish zoan abolutely useless
Whew! Good thing Oda got that new inker. I knew it was going to be pitch black.
Rubia – To clarify: I don't know if he actually got a new inker, I was just making a theory based on a change of inking style that we saw a few chapters back, but you're right: if Oda did bring a new inker on board, now would be the perfect time for it.
Sorry to hear that you're having the flu. It's gotten pretty cool around the Bay Area where I am too. Fortunately, I've recently rid of my cold.
Thanks, glad to hear you're over yours.
And now, Luffy has a new pet. The others just haven't agreed to his decision yet.
The Kraken's biggest threat right now is actually Zoro's stomach …
It looked like a giant sushi chef was going to work. He wasn't kidding about thinking the kraken looked tasty.
I'm still standing by my pet theory (Wagomu, get your picture ready …) that Mihawk never let him eat sushi while he was training, and that because of this, he's suffering massive withdrawal pangs for sushi – yet is too proud to beg Sanji to make him some -- and that this overwhelming need for sushi is going to cause him some trouble in FI. I mean, he's no longer just naming his moves after sushi -- he's making his moves in anticipation of sushi.
The other real interesting part about this chapter is that it confirms the way water effects devil fruits.
Yep, I don't think that we had an example – or at least I can't remember if we did -- of a DF user trying to use their ability just for a quick second before submerging in water. In the past, we had people falling into water and then trying to use DF, but at that point it's too late. The advantage that they have here is that they're enclosed in air under the water, so they can plan the move and then dip in and out of the water instantly. So it clarifies things better.
Oh and feel better dints.
Thanks! Have a good Thanksgiving.
Pretty good chapter. Blue Walk has the potential to look awesome in the anime if handled by a special animator.
The Criminal t-shirt should be a clue that Camie is close enough, so i'm betting that Zoro, Sanji and Luffy are fine. I'm curious about what's gonna happen to the rest in the meantime.
Blue Walk reminds me of Geppou
Anyone realise Sanji has Diable Jambe on his right leg while moving towards the Kraken but kicks it with his left?
Robin can freakin' generate freakin' giant hands now that can support Sunny's weight! That's a freakin' huge power boost! She's a real monster now.
I doubt this is precise. I'm also responding to the following:
Not convinced having Robin go all giant is the best idea as this smacks of Luffy (and if Chopper's upgrades are anything to go by based on guard point, him as well) - seems a bit repititious.
Think carefully about how Oda has drawn Robin's attacks zoomed-out in the past. I'm willing to bet that mil fleur was for "million flowers", and that she instantaneously summoned a million of her arms together in the shape of two giant arms for the purpose of the cushioning. That is the essence of robin's power-up: she can summon far more arms, and faster than before. As for the reason she felt the need to do it in the shape of two giant arms, well, her attacks have always focused heavily on abstract beauty, and I think this attack suits that image well.
As for Chopper, he's older now. He grew. Him getting bigger just makes sense.
Oh, I'm a little disappointed that Luffy has to announce "color or armament" when using this attack. His attacks are getting too wordy, plus "color of armaments" doesn't sound that good as an attack name! Especially when I doubt Luffy will need to do that with his other two haki techniques. Hopefully this gets refined in the future.
Two thoughts on this. First, I think it may keep happening because rather than simply being haki, it's a specific technique that utilizes haki. But I do think it could be shortened to simply "Hardening."
Second, because it's a technique, I don't think it should be translated to begin with. I don't know offhand what "color of armament" reads as in Japanese, but I'd expect to see it used verbatim, I think.
OMG, think about it there way down in the bottom of the ocean (well close) and he went out of his bubble which means he should feel the pressure and it should slow/weaken him
He was already back in his bubble right after Luffy used his Elephant Gun. The last update we'd gotten they were only 1000 meters down, I think (but they'd probably gone a bit farther since then).

Yeah, this is the first time he's really started to establish the rules behind a fruit user's limits while being partially submerged. The stuff in Croc's casino (with Mr 3's doru ball especially) are about the only examples we'd seen in the past. Luffy and Robin didn't have any trouble pulling Usopp back up when they first got to the white sea, but sea cloud may behave differently anyway.
I'm willing to bet that mil fleur was for "million flowers"
I believe it's supposed to be "mille fleur" which would be "thousand flowers." The previous high was hundred.
He was already back in his bubble right after Luffy used his Elephant Gun.
..not sure if that was your point, but you just confirmed how impressively fast his underwater speed was..
The last update we'd gotten they were only 1000 meters down, I think (but they'd probably gone a bit farther since then).
They're 7000 meters down. That's said in this very chapter.

I thought it was pretty clear that I was referring to when Sanji was outside of his bubble, but I guess not.
I love that panel with the freaky fish in darkness. Good things are ahead.
@O:
did you spot this fish in the last panel?
Holy crap! It was totally there!
I am definitely in agreement with those who think Luffy's attack and Sengoku are related. Sengoku can use it all over his body cause he's an enlightened human, hurr hurrrr.
Wauw! So we finally got to see Usopps manly side. Great chapter!
so is chopper just going to have stronger forms or will he get new powers cause so far it looks like he just increased in power size
what do you mean by stronger forms ?
I guess he/she meant stronger forms of the rumble ball transformations, because guard point seemed bigger this time than in the past.
@Fezzik:
You are basing that off what? One panel that showed him using guard point to protect the ship.
Yeah, I have to say to me his guard point also looks bigger. This could have 2 reasons:
1. Chopper's reindeer form also got bigger after these 2 years (remember his first encounter with post timeskip Nami and Usopp, Nami also noticed that time that Chopper got even "fuzzier" or "furrier"-> he got more fur anyway!). So guard point also seems bigger because Chopper grew in the last 2 years (except 4 his "tiny form" so far, because we haven't seen his "big human/gorilla" form yet).
2. Chopper really could have developed the strength of his Rumble Balls since he was researching on that bird island. As a result each point has more power nao.
I also got Rumble Balls! :ninja:
No, seriously, these are the 2 reasons I can give so far for the bigger lookin guard point. He couldn't have protected the whole ship, if his guard point was as small as in the past.
But my 2 reasons are just speculated conclusions of what I've seen so far from the story. Don't pick out of it too much.
EDIT: YUCK @ THAT UGLY BLOB-FISH!!!!!
yea actually i kinda agree that zoro's left is open when he cut the kraken LOLZ!

I agree it might be simply that. I was thinking more in terms of the possible evolution of her powers. At any rate my jury is out on whether it is giant arms that appear to be singular from afar or whether it is an actual evolution. My point is that having something be giant does seem slightly repititive in view of Luffy and perhaps Chopper even if it is done in a more elegant fashion.
For Chopper my point is merely that the appearance alone are size increases. I would like to think there was more to their two years training than such an increase.
At any rate, it is only a minor thing and certainly didn't hamper my enjoyment of the chapter
how come sanji didn't die when he got out of his bubble
Good morning.
The last double page was gold. It shows how much fun Oda will have drawing the FI arc.
how come sanji didn't die when he got out of his bubble
Cause this is One Piece, he was only out for a few seconds and well he's cool like that…
So what was Usopp saying about graduating from the weak trio? lol Nami seems braver than him now :D
yea actually i kinda agree that zoro's left is open when he cut the kraken LOLZ!
The worst part about this post is that it's not even meant as a joke.
@mr.jack:
how come sanji didn't die when he got out of his bubble
A person swimming underwater. Completely unheard of.
yea actually i kinda agree that zoro's left is open when he cut the kraken LOLZ!
It just isn't, you know that? :wassat:
About Sanji, the fact is that they weren't that deep in the sea… The real danger was for the boat and DF users. And he's so fast that it wasn't a problem for him to leave the bubble for a while.
Blue Walk reminds me of Geppou
Anyone realise Sanji has Diable Jambe on his right leg while moving towards the Kraken but kicks it with his left?
good find
I dunno it still looks like he kicks with his right to me. Maybe the perspective and the pose he's making is weird…
It is definitely his right leg, the angle gives a false impression
I believe it's supposed to be "mille fleur" which would be "thousand flowers." The previous high was hundred.
Goooood point. I was being silly. A million times the volume of her arm would have been the size of the kraken =.=" I was confused because million isn't actually written differently in french than english, so I thought it was an abbreviation (because I also forgot that the numbers were spanish, not french) =P
