This guy was pretty good till the tv series ruined him.

Not in the top tier, but a fun villain all the same.

Traditional necromancy where the soul or body was brought back for the purpose of answering questions and then released is one thing. Resurrecting people with the express intent of creating an army of the damned tends to fall on the evil side of the spectrum.

Summoning souls back from the afterlife is a heck of a lot more sinful than reanimating dead corpses. Most undead aren't any different from golems or other lifeless constructs - The Horned King merely wanted an invincible army, and that's why he went with the Cauldron Born.

Sure, he obviously sent out that army of the undead to deliver fruit baskets and not to kill every person in Prydain so that they too could be resurrected as ghoulish abominations. Even if he did, that's not any worse than fratricide like Scar or not really killing anybody like Jafar did… wait, what?

I'm pretty sure betrayal for self-gain, especially that of a close and intimate blood relative, is going to trump a character being evil for evil's sake.

Oooh, listing disney villains.
Ratigan will always be numbah one for me. His berserking at the end is so awesome. The Coachman freaks me out to this date, and Frollo is of course excellent. McLeash is pure nostalgic evil for me…trying to have kids eaten alive by crocodiles and all.

Has anyone mentioned the Evil Queen from snow white yet? She was pretty damn scary too when you're a kid.

Silver from treasure planet I liked too - not a "heart black as coal" villain to be sure, but a good character nonetheless.

Hah, and poor ratcliffe never gets any love.

I was never a big Shan Yu fan, he was rather bland and trying to take over china with 5 men made for an...underwhelming climax.

But guys, theres a whole untapped area of disney villains yet unmentioned...

I LOVE Drakken. He's so much fun to mock. I didn't like it when he almost succeeded, though. I realise that this doesn't make a good villain, but meh. He has hilarious lines.

Man I completely missed that poll, but I remember him voicing all those cept Bonkers.. really? I mean, now that I think about it, it makes sense (plus he was also Lucky so maybe that's why it confused me). Out of all those besides the Pooh, Bonkers had to be my absolute favorite afternoon Disney show as a kid. Totally would have voted for him.

Anyway I'm not gonna list villians cause everyone else's is pretty tight, but I like the tv topic… Anyone remember Quack Pack? That show was an odd....duck. (okay that was bad..) I always thought they should have done a crossover w/Darkwing, would've been awesome.

Sure, he's a lot less of a bastard on Ducktales than he was in the comics, but I still thought the guy was still one of the better things about the show.

I so agree with this. In fact, all of Scrooge's villains are awesome. De Spell, The Beagle Boys, Glomgold, you name it.

Ah, Dr. Drakken…While I'm not as big of a Kim Possible fan as I used to be, I still think he's hilarious. Something about him reminds me of Spandam, only a lot less competent for the most part.

Scrooge villains would be my next move after TV villains. For me, not even Flintheart or Beagle Boy Sr. can compare to

Soapy Slick. Nice choice.

Still though, it's hard to beat Flintheart. If nothing else, he's the only Duck villain that tried to kill off all five of our heroes by strafing them with a jet fighter.

While he's more of an antagonist than a villain, it just isn't right not to mention David Xanatos. I'm only a little more than halfway through season 2 of Gargoyles (speaking of which: I've really been meaning to finish up the Avalon World Tour), but I could go on all day about him.

This has nothing to do with the current conversation, but I went to the store with my mom today and I saw a little children's book version of Tangled. I read it and, although I don't know if it's going to stay the same in the movie, I thought it was pretty cute.

You too? I was about to buy it for the art. The artist was pretty good. Judging how the PaTF golden book was pretty much the same as the movie, I'm pretty sure the Tangled golden book is the same.

That looks mighty fine.

Winnie the Pooh's earthen tones are just a part its "look". I'd call it iconic, maybe? The newer versions of it were a bit too bright and of a more primary color-scheme instead. It just never looked as right.

That's very reassuring. Only two things:

1. A faster, more modern-pace? Eh, I always liked the slow, laid-back atmosphere of the original. But if they handle it with care, it'll work.

2. New songs are fine. BUT, the original theme song must lead us in. The theme is timeless, it can't be replaced. I'm sure Lassetter knows that, I just hope it isn't overshadowed.

They reprised Bear Necessities when they did Jungle Book 2, so…

Anyway, the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (from all the way back in what... 1990?) were superbly done. If they can hit those notes, rather than "The Tigger Movie", it'll work.

But really Pooh works best in short form. That cast has trouble maintaining a single 90 minute narrative.

Well, they said that they're adapting five of the original stories, so I'm assuming it's a collection of connected shorts, like the first one.

And hey, one of my favorite Pooh films is the one they made in the 80s, so I'm sure they can do this right again. I'm sure the animators are all very enthusiastic. Who wouldn't be about Pooh?

I don't really have much of an opinion on Pooh now, even if I really liked it as a kid. I remember watching those series during the 90's: One animated, and one live action. But, it saddens me to see what direction he's taken over the last decade. That new show seems really watered down, and talks down to kids.

I do remember watching that one short: Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too a lot as a kid, and thought that was the movie until finding out about The Many Adventures, which I saw for the first time not too long ago.

It's nice to see that the folks at Disney are trying, this time around. I have a minor gripe, which is exactly what Satsuki mentioned, being the change of pace. Being slow was pretty much the main appeal for me, which added a lot to the mood. But, I'm sure they have their reasons.

I question their decision to use a modern pop song in the trailer, but still a good look.

It seems to be a bit more in vein with the old tv show rather than the original film, but that's cool with me. I loved that show.

It seems like it'll play back to the more subdued style of the earliest Winnie-the-Pooh, exactly as the early screens of it looked, although portions of it due seem more modern in humor.

Sounds fine. Looks fine. I am pleased.
