Judging from Spoony's twitter messages he seems really ill. One could of course guess that it has something to do with putting pretty insane hours in his work during the last few months? I think he's confessed that he's not the most fit guy to begin with, so maybe his body just stepped in and said "You know, maybe it would be wise to cut back on the amount of stuff you do, eh?"

Yeah, I really hope Spoony is doing okay. Especially after this post on his Twitter:

Felt so poorly today I went to the emergency room. Tests showed nothing so I guess I just have to wait.

Now I'm off to watch Super Hornio Bros. 2

Spoony already went to the ER yesterday. He's had several tests done on him, but nothing is known on what's really wrong.

Today he commented on losing his Fallout save files, so maybe he's a bit better. Hopefully.

Lindsay (Nostalgia Chick) has her moments, but my God, can she be weak on her own.

I'll admit, her facial reaction toward Sting in a speedo made me laugh pretty damn hard, but nothing…nothing will be funnier than Nella in the My Little Pony review.

I never really have a problem with Lindsay, she always finds a way to make me laugh. ^_^. But thats just my opinion.

Her review of Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas is still one of my faves, though.

Don't get me wrong, I do think Lindsay is funny. I didn't have a tweet from her Twitter in my signature all week because I didn't think she was funny (seriously, "I live in LA, so you can take your snuggie and your doggie snuggie AND SNUG IT", I nearly died). She's just has been weak at times. And she HAS gotten better. Much better.

I think any Disney Princess sequels falls under NChick's jurisdiction. She already did BatB: Enchanted Christmas (which is technically a mid-quel, but whatever).

He might do one of the Aladdin sequels, however.

I never could get past the premise of 2001. I mean, am I really supposed to buy that people would build a supercomputer capable of reason, and making its own conclusions, and NOT program it not to make decisions to kill people?! That one nagging question always kept me from taking that movie seriously. That, and Stanley Kubrick's goofy bullshit.

So I can't say I'm really behind NC on that one. The rest were good choices, though, I thought.

To be honest, I'm one of those people who gets pretentious when it comes to 2001. I wasn't crazy for it the first time I saw, but after going through it again and reading the book, I think it's genious.

It's only as scary as you want it to be. I mean, the movie's rated "G" and it's very quiet when there's no music playing. Hell, it's still pretty quiet even then. The only time 2001 ever gets loud is when those monoliths start wailing. Plus, HAL doesn't make an appearance until an hour in.

I'd still recommend checking it out. It's not "scary" in the traditional sense (not horror scary) but it's certainly haunting in a psychological aspect.

Yeah, but at least that aspect was dealt with, be it due to becoming self-aware (Skynet in Terminator), or being programmed by other machines to use humans as fuel, not to kill them (The Matrix). HAL was just a giant "whoops, forgot to drop in the whole HREF:>>HEY HAL, DON'T KILL PEOPLE line of code in there! Dammit, I always forget the little things." Other movies/series/whatever gave (or at least allowed for) some reason why they could kill. HAL's homicidal nature was a plot hole you could build a city inside of.

I know. "It" was THE scary movie for me in my childhood. The clown was quite a frequent sight in my nightmares and it still gives me the creeps. Another kind of similar experience was The Fly.

And yes it was a nice list. I never saw Exorcist III, but after seeing that performance I kinda want to.

I'd call it creepy, maybe, for some of its aspects that make you think, but as a whole, its really not supposed to scare you

Great list, especially his number 9 choice Kathy Bates. Seriously, this crazy bitch has to be in my list of most hated movie characters ever. Scared the shit out of me as a kid, because the very idea of a fan who just goes apeshit insane creeped the shit out of me. Even seeing her today makes me feel uneasy. It's not only that, but she is exactly the sort of people who I hate the most in real life. Overserious, zealous fans who can't shut the fuck up.

I've never had a fear of clowns. In fact, I like clowns. Even creepy ones.

But I'll confess that Pennywise is pretty fucking creepy. Even if it is Tim Curry, whom I adore.

Not only am I looking forward to the review, I'm working with my sister to try and buy the DVD (if there is one) of the movie and watch it before Halloween. Honestly, I've always wanted to see it.

And that's exactly what happened to HAL. He was designed to replicate human emotions to the point that he became self-aware. So when he found out that Dave and Frank were going to shut him down, he became afraid and tried to kill them in self-defense. Or if you want it take it even further, the novel and sequel say that he was also feeling guilty that he had to lie about the true purpose behind the mission to Jupiter/Saturn.

He might very well have had a number 2 rule of "Do not kill humans", but if his number 1 rule is "complete the mission" well, that will take precedence. Computers only do exactly what you tell them, after all.

You pretty much get the entirety of 2001 in the Futurama episode where the ship falls in love with Bender.
