It should've been Armenia as the Euro-Asiatic nation, I believe. Hard to say with all the different ethnic groups and "tribes" around there. I'll leave this to Zephos. He knows the facts better than I do.

Side note: using a shit map from wikipedia makes you look like an oaf. Have you ever thought about the eastern countries that have only joined europe recently?
Unfucking likely…
Could we please keep this thread semi-civil? It was a fun thread to read and learn from until you started waving your flamethrower around

I thought Azerbaijan was both an European and Asiatic country? Aren't Azerbaijan and Russian the two countries that cross the Caspian Sea, thus being both European and Asiatic?
That's what I heard, I don't really have geography as my job like you, though, only slightly interested on it, so I may be wrong
The Ural and Caucasus mountains are generally considered the boundaries of Europe. Georgia and Armenia are occasionally thrown into the Europe category for having a bunch of cultural similarties (mainly Christianity) though this is more true of Georgia then Armenia.
Azerbaijan is a piece of Persia that Russia took away 200 or so years ago, the Azeris are Turkic peoples that follow Shia Islam. They're Asian as fuck.

sorry to interrupt the conversation for a bit, feel free to ignore this post if you wish. i just want to point out –
South East Asia
we dont speak english fluently..i respectfully but wholeheartedly disagree. i'm from Southeast Asia as well, and i am surrounded daily by people who have a decent command of English and can speak the language fluently with no trouble at all. with all due respect, please avoid making general statements about many different types of people who come from different backgrounds and environments. i am in no way judging those who have a poor command of English – i might as well handcuff myself for not being able to draw a stick figure.
-
My roomate is from Singapore and speaks an English more alike mine then my other roomate's southern american accent.
-
i thought u were grounded.
hmm…yes but i get 'ungrounded' every now and then...like at cousins' house....

@JERK:
…..............and....?
Branding English as european isn't right as some of the latest countries border and have been influenced more by the middle east & russia.
Thus we are either western europeans or dubbed as old europe. Its like treating north and south america as one, when severals aspects of the two clearly show a difference.
If counties like Turkey weren't in the equation then it would be pretty straightforward. I know it sounds anal, but I refuse to recognise some of these countries as european when they are both culturally and religiously bonded to the middle east.
At this rate Iraq will be considered european. lol

It's just a state.
For my location, look to your left. My dad never fails to point out that Great Britain and Northern Ireland are separate.

I've always thought of Russia as being European anyway.

I'm held up in South America.

@JERK:
We have a relatively large amount of dudes from Pakistan here for some reason.

@Fire-Fist: out of curiosity, which country are you from? :)

We should swap igloo building techniques sometime.
My current country of location is Costa Rica. Bit of a different enviroment than I am normally used to.

Bwahahaha….Oh god I can't stand Russia (government). The idea of being affiliated with them in any way seems laughable when they routinely probe our defences with various jets/bombers. Still I know what you mean; after all Englands full of immigrants that are both Russian or from countries bordering Russia.
Side note: I feel a rant about the Kremlin coming on.
-
Yeah, I'm not arguing their current policies, but if you look at the history, they've always been in the European sphere, with the British Empire especially being involved with them during The Great Game, as it became known.

True.
My hatred stems from three things:
- Russia's orphanages
- Baiting England with aircraft
- Chechneya
Seriously though I'm utterly disgusted at their treatment of special needs children and children in general. I might have the figures wrong, but over 1 million kids are left in institutions. Only 10% of those integrate into society, while the other percentage resort to drugs & crime in a bid to survive.

Asia -> Pakistan :happy:

Two of those immigrants won Nobel prizes for Britain.

Oh and: Europe > Finland
Oh wow, that's pretty neato!
I used to have a summer cottage in Virrat as well, who would've known I'd come to live here over ten years later. It's only because of school though.

I'm so sorry .
Why do you think I am in Costa Rica. After Sarah Palins rise to power I left out shame for my birthplace.
@ xmoonshinex
Dont disillusion me, for some reason I have always wanted to visit England. Way to many of my favorite people have come out of that country. -

Branding English as european isn't right as some of the latest countries border and have been influenced more by the middle east & russia.
Russia is European as hell. My god, Slavs are an absolute central piece of European identity, and Russians are the majorest Slavic ethnic group. Silverblade is gonna beat your ass if you keep talking like this, and you're gonna deserve this.
Who borders the Mid-East and is mostly influenced by them?
One country, Turkey and it's considered Eurasian, not strictly European.And what in the fuck does this have to do with (snicker) England not being European?
Thus we are either western europeans or dubbed as old europe. Its like treating north and south america as one, when severals aspects of the two clearly show a difference.
North America has South American style countries in it. In fact the US has Latin American style places in it complete with majority hispanic communities in entire states.
I know you want to believe you're a unique english flower, but you and your continent are damned similar for a continent. Nor are continents defined by culture. Oh, except sort of Europe lol.
If counties like Turkey weren't in the equation
Turkish Thrace is in Europe, the rest is in Asia.
then it would be pretty straightforward.
It is straighforward, because Turkey is one goddamn country.
I know it sounds anal, but I refuse to recognise some of these countries as european when they are both culturally and religiously bonded to the middle east.
What does this have to do with the extremely European country of the UK?
And are you trying to say Albania, Kosovo, and Bosnia are not European?
-
Mexico's culturally bonded to fucking Spain and everything below it (Though I may be wrong on this), yet it's still part of North America.

North America technically goes all the way down to Panama, and includes all the islands as well.

A lot of the islands are British and French ex-colonies.
Jamaica = British
Haiti = French
Bahamas = British -
Italy > Italy > Italy

Since when were continents formed by cultural similarities?
Brazil would love to be as far away from Argentina as possible. Doesn't make Brazil part of North America.
@dirt:
Italy > Italy > Italy
I failed to see the logic in that statement, but then I wanted some Italian food. And now I'm hungry.
EDIT: Chrissie and Darkstorm live in Europe? NO SHIT!?! Never knew that.
