Luffy's brother no mi. He randomly stumbled on it while walking his dog last week.
Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

I didn't think it was possible for dead people to eat devil fruits

I didn't think it was possible for dead people to eat devil fruits
oh no, I saw what you did there!! :ninja:
-
Well considering luffy has a parmecia and ace had a logia and oda does things in groups i'd imagine the brothers would have to have different fruit types hence a zoan for sabo, hopefully another mythical zoan.
-
@Don:
Jinbei used seawater against Moria`s zombies in the WAR!.
I only remember that brook said that the salt purifies the zombies because it has the "power of sea" in it because they born from the power of DF. So, as oda has said before, all waters are part of sea (rivers, lakes, showers, rain etc.)
So zombies wont be able to throw up a pool party.…just in case it's not widely known, some relatively useless trivia---the idea of salt as something that is used for purification exists and is common in Japan--It's not ususual to walk by a restaurant (trying to remember--but I think it's when they've just opened) and find large conical piles of salt at either side of the entrance. I asked my husband who said he thinks it's part of the Shinto (as opposed to Bhuddist) tradition (the salt is often placed by a priest during a ceremony when a store is first opened--a blessing of sorts I believe). ETA--Oh yeah, just remembered the traditional throwing of salt before a Sumo match also--same purification thing. The fact that both d/f and Zombies are related to or from devil's, lol, would account for the use of salt all by itself, and that may be part of what lead Oda to use sea water as the natural enemy of the d/f users in the first place--not surprising given the importance of the sea to an island nation like Japan, lol. In other words, for Japanese readers, this makes sense/feels right on a whole different level than it does for Westerners.

a logia…
16
-
I'd say just a powerful one.
-
It would probably be a Zoan, but I think they are pretty boring powers most of the times, so I hope not.
-
He's Zoan Dragon :D
-
Schrodinger Schrodinger no Mi.
-
i've got no idea
hmm, i picture him with a paramecia
doubt it would be logia since they're pretty much used up (of how many logias can you think up(make up))
doesnt strike me as a guy to have a zoan -
He'd have the I'm Alive I'm Alive Fruit. Unfortunately, I have no idea what this fruit does. It would be Parmecia.
No !
is a Helloween type of fruit:ninja::ninja:Now on topic..
I guess a zoan (like, ace with a logia,and luffy with a paramacia) -
Sabo would have only eaten one fruit the "Mera Mera", oh why do you ask?
He wants to rub it in Luffy's face, when he has to explain why he didn't show up to help save Ace…since they are brothers.
Luffy: "Why weren't you there?"
Sabo: "Because Firefist Sabo..sounds way better than Firefist Ace" -
Cool side-info.
I knew that salt must have a special role in Japan, so that Oda used it as weakness to DF-users(and Zombies)…
Thanks for clearing that up BusterCall. -
How did kuma know where to send each strawhat?
-
Now you it will bring back the awesome theories about Kuma's powers and that he have no clue where he sent them xD
-
hey what is the name of the new kama with the rabbit skin on his head and the sunglasses, he seems to be a recurring character and is always around when the new kamas are shown.

Thanks for clearing that up BusterCall. That is a very good reason. I though it was because some western traditions of salt protecting you from bad spirits, like when people throw salt over their shoulder to avoid bad luck.

, i've started watching the one piece anime from reading it i got up to chapter 176, where the straw hats have just escaped rainbase casino,
buuut in the anime, they're on their way to the rebel camp and crocodile hasn't even caught them yet, should i just stick to reading it because im completely baffled why is the anime changing so much from the manga? -
It's called filler, kid.
-
Hey CSharpMajor. I have a guild called "___C#"! Nice to see that C# is getting some love, although I intended for Minor. Anyways, its what you call a Filler. Fillers are not relevant to the main plot–the manga plot. It is just an extra "small story" usually implemented with Oda's consent, when the Anime gets too close to the manga, this is aired so the manga plot could gain some distance from the anime plot. That is all, much love to C# Minor :)
If you ignore all the Filler episodes, the manga and the anime plots are very much identical. Toodles.
-
@Cyan:

LOL yeah.
I had that general problem except i was switching from anime to manga.
My advice is to stick to one or the other, and wait a while before switching if at all. also, when watching the anime, you just have to accept it for what it is. can't be too picky about "that doesn't happen in the manga!" -
Yeah pretty much what has been stated - The anime does need time to fill in when it catches up to the Manga. Sometimes by merging 2 comics into 1 episode or similar.
Occasionally I theorise that if Oda knows the Anime is coming up to a point he would have liked to expanded on he may provide the Anime with additional information to flesh out that story. But generally he enjoys watching the show with everyone else to see how they interperate things.
They do get it wrong a fair bit but this is more down to a lack of quality control and is also evident that Oda is unable to sit there and watch their every move. But from all the information I've seen he has a working relationship/Friendship with the VA's and teams behind OP the anime.

Do you think brownbeard is plain stupid, or would actually become a formidable opponent in the future?

Were the Admirals using Haki in this page?
http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-564/page010.htmlBased on the positions of their hands, it seems very likely. Compare that with those on this page: http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-597/page013.html

Stupid question: Does gender affect Zoans? I mean, would a girl who ate Bug Bug Model Mantis be bigger then a guy who ate the same fruit?
-
You to ask that to Oda, we dont have any women Zoan right now so we cant really say if they look more feminine in that form but it unsderstandable that it would work that way.
Im really not remembering of any girl zoan.
All times below are PDT (Pacific), the current date and time is: 2010-09-29 10:05:02
One Piece: Wednesday between 11:00 and 23:59.
Like i said 7pm if we are lucky in an hour we get it :D

Ms. Merry Christmas is, I believe, the only female Zoan user so far.
Also, it seems like now from the War, we now have two Insect Zoans (Onigumo the spider, and some random New World Captain with a Catterpiller), but since both are men, who knows what a female Insect would be like.
-
Oh yeah the mole lol totally forgot about her but yeah she is not a good example for us to know if there is a diference since moles dont really look more feminine or masculine i believe and she was ugly and not very feminine so it didnt help.
-
Sandersonia and Marigold
-
Damn im being really dumb, well I guess they look pretty feminine but im not really and expert on seeing if a snake looks male or female haha.
A Lion or a Mantis like kyle said would show us perhaps some diference.

Animals have genders too so it seems probable that if Chopper was a female reindeer in he's human form he/she would have boobs.

Guys, Let's not turn this into a furry thread.
And I'm pretty sure the gender differences would apply if Oda thought of it.

Why didn't the marines bother checking if the buster call in Ennies Lobby was an accident? its not like EL is just another normal island.
-
Reports that for the first time pirates were being succefull in destroying the island by passing the giants and defeating the secret group CP9, the involvement of one of the most dangerous people in the world for the WG-> Nico Robin.
And the Buster Call is not a toy. If it's activated it means something will be destroyed. -
How many more years do you think it will be until the end of One Piece? Do you really think we will have another 10 years o2 so of One Piece(which means we are only half way through the story)?
I ask this because everywhere I go to read about the next story arc it all says, the Final Arc: New World. Are those just mistranslations??

Perhaps the final arc in the grand line?
-
I hope so….... that might be what it is. I'm probably worried because its been so long without One Piece and because the way the next arc sounds.
There is still so much more One Piece has to offer. I hope it has at least another 13 years left.
