Eh? I thought this two scenes were done by Shida?! Ah, I can't distinguish between Tomita, Shida and Inoue xD What about the Wax-Champion-Luffy? I thought the Big Emperor and Wax-Luffy is from the same animator oO. I'm very confused but thank you Crossword.
The Luffy vs Minotaurus was Naotoshi Shida i guess…but iirc Tomita did a scene with Sadi and Magellan in the same episode.
Makes you wonder why they gave Tomita so many scenes featuring Sadi-chan, when most of them (if not all) weren't supposed to be anything special...
Hm, I seem to remember XMURAD including those scenes in the Tomita AMV he made a while back, but since they've been nuked I can't exactly double-check.
So were all the main scenes in 433 done by Tomita? I remember Murad himself saying the Tonkachi Rifle would be Shida's..
I remember the way Buggy, Mr. 3, and Mr. 2 being drawn resembling the Candle Champion scenes (clothes shading), but now that I think about it, the way the wax formed and Luffy while launching the attack did kinda look like the Gigant Stamp scene.
Pretty sure Tomita did the first fight with Minotaurus, though.
Yeah, the Gigant Stamp (which is Shida's, no doubt) was my reference. Guess we'll have to wait for Murad to clarify.
Shida only worked on 450 in the ID arc. The rest of the flashy stuff are for Tomita.

I need to re-upload some of my videos, but I'm trying to make them a little bit better.
Man, I wonder if Tomita will work next week or the week after.
BTW, I found more big animators in movie 10. And final scene was done by Seiya Numata.

Sorry, that's a mistake from my part. That scene was for Shida. Tomita have done the reaction of Nami and Franky to the big turtle, and he have done the scene with Luffy on the bird.

I haven't watched Strong World yet, but I'm looking forward to Seiya Numata's scene as well as Tate, Shida, and others.
Man, another Awesome Kenji Kuroyanagi scene in 468. Luffy Vs. Smoker was very well done. I think he also did part of Jimbey Vs. Moria.
About 467, G3 scene was done by Hiromi Ishigami. I have been following her for a while, but her last scene blew me away.
What else Hiromi Ishigami did? I've found very similar with G3 from Strong World.

I'd thought I would take a moment to comment on this. Back when I started this thread Inoue WAS one of my favorite animators in the series because of how his style resembled Oda's. But I have to be honest with you guys that ever since the post-Strawhat Separation episodes brought it a bunch of new animation directors as well as those involved with Strong World, I don't really miss him that much.
I really like a lot of the animators who are handling the Marineford arc and I like how the newer movement is focusing on how the animation is done as opposed to copying the style of the manga.

I think he will do chapter 574, and probably an episode from the upcoming schedule.
I don't really care whose team comes up next (unless it's Deguchi, I guess) as long as they maintain the level of animation quality that we've been getting since the action started. That's not to say I wouldn't welcome the big guns, of course.
Now, looking ahead…
! It's definitely going to be interesting to see how the anime handles the post-timeskip material, like will it be treated like another series like Dragon Ball Z, will there be a completely new musical score, an influx of new staff members, and I am looking forward to seeing how the new designs come out in animated form. I don't know if I should do any new caps when the time comes or not, since no one really changes that much, but that's still like a year away.
! I am tempted to simply mirror my caps of Sanji and scribble on a mustache and beard like in the cartoons, though.

Well, same here, but I wouldn't say I'm disappointed yet, since I wanted to see them in 3D anyway like an OVA, but didn't expect a movie to be honest. Plus I have the thought that Toei are actually working on a 2D movie for 2012, and the 3D is done by another studio just to fill the gap. Since I don't think Toei studio does any 3D.

Apparently it's more of a special than a movi,e since according to Greg if it were meant to be part of the movie series the advertisements would've plastered ''Movie 11'' all over the place but they haven't. I'm pretty apprehensive regarding the quality, since what we are shown look like PS2 models. They aren't even cel-shaded.

Everyone seems to be firing on all four cylinders these days. Even the normally weaker directors like Takagi and Yokoyama have been producing solid work, and the key animation has been pretty spot-on. I think we all can agree that Marineford is being handled much better than the beginning of Enies Lobby was.
And I too will be disappointed if Tate doesn't handle 470. That fight would look so awesome with his style.

Shida will be the Storyboard Composer of Episode 472, and I guess he may aslo be one of the key animators of this episode.
Episode 473 will be stoyboarded and directed by Miyamoto, who is the present Series Diector of One Piece anime. The Animation Director of this episode, Hisada, is the pesent anime character designer. From this we can feel that Toei may think this episode will be very impotant.

lol, you mean Kameda. That's a Bones exclusive animator. Yeah, I always wanted him to do the WB stuff. But I hope Ishigami who did gear 3rd in 467 will do something for WB.
I made a video for him but it was removed. He is one of my favorite animators, that Greed Vs. Bradley was movie quality.

Some awesome news regarding special animators on Bamind's blog. We will be seeing Ishigami and Shida soon.
And if it's true that Ishigami will be doing a Garp scene in 477 then that means the pacing will be higher now. Since Garp appears on chapter 570 and 571.
Edit: Oops forgot chapter 567. But if ep 477 = chap 567, then that means the next few episodes will be less than one chapter. So I hope it's true that by 477 will be at chapter 570 or 571.

According to the Nikkei Entertainment's report (Issue 2010-08), it takes the One Piece anime team about 5 months to produce a 20-minute-long episode, from composing the script to broadcasting the episode on TV.
About the production fee… It's said that it's 10,000,000 yen per episode a few years ago. But I cannot find the original source. And I think the anime team got poorer these years, until the releasing of Strong World DVD and Log Collection. (In fact in my opinion even 10,000,000 yen is not enough.)

I don't think that would be too much.
Many of those more generic anime may not cost half or even 3x this amount for one episode.
I figure that it's for the staff and whoever works on it.

I thought that it would be closer to 1 - 2 1/2 months because of the technology that Toei uses today. They abandoned the old method and now do everything digitally.
Oh, and on the Marineford arc having a high chance of being the best animated arc so far…
I don't know.
So far Marineford has had some greatly animated scenes that overall make me happy with One Piece's current animation.
My main gripe is the fact that One Piece currently uses a large amount of those stationary frames and "dragging" still characters around instead of actually giving them an animated look.
Personally, I think the animation was at it's best around the beginning of Water 7, it was almost movie quality, to me anyway, what with the epic shading and the characters being on model a good deal of the time.
Not saying the current episodes flat-out suck these days, but they could be better.
