Are there any quality differences between the 1st edition and 2nd edition Luffy figures from the Grandline men series? Someone said that the paint quality on the 1st ed. was better, but I'm not entirely sure my memory is correct.

None of the text around the pictures mentions anything about a secret, but the writer doesn't make it sound like a custom, either. I haven't read everything in the post, though.

says something like "cobalt blue vest, applying black and cobalt blue to the pants"...something about the straw hat. "mugiwara boushi ni wa sumi ire(?) wo -something- shimashita".
But if that means someone applied the blue paint, then it is a custom after all. Don't take my word for it, though. :x

It's a custom. Looked up "sumi ire" and got this:
""Sumi ire" is the Japanese word used to describe where you use either a special marker or paint to paint along grooves in the kit." So it was a paintjob. Very professional, though. <3

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE got our Marine Puzzle today, that 50 bucks we spent on it is pretty worth it, it's pretty epic. But DAYUM.. WAZ EXPENSIVE O_O
Also got 3 hangs today, the ones from Play Asia of Chopper cosplaying the mugiwara that are random x3 I prayed we'd get Franky, and we ended up doing PERFECT!! Got Usopp Chopper, Franky Chopper, and Zoro Chopper x3 ALL SOOO SOO CUTE!!

I just bought off off Yahoo Auctions for 4000 yen from someone I always buy from…he does look good, hopefuly like you guys say the Super DX lines will catch on, POPs could use the competition...though I still think POPs aren't doing too shabby with their quality and Megahouse deserves some props through these years on these. BTW, I'm still suffering from the decision on the Battousai figure. =P Let me know what's up on the SM figure you were pouncing on.

I've never heard of that. o_o
Banpresto's quality control isn't the best, so it could have easily happened that one person got a perfectly fine figure from the 1st edition and another person a poor one from the 2nd edition.
But as far as I know, it was just a re-release, nothing different. -

Uuuh, I don't remember very well, but I'm pretty sure they sell legit figures. I think there were problems with it though, like someone bought something from them that they suddenly didn't have in stock and everything really dragged. Something like that, afair.

For the most part, yes. There have been numerous people here that have used Angolz with good results, but outside of this board there are also people who haven't had good results. Angolz is essentially like Amazon Marketplace, which in turn is also like Ebay stores. So you're looking at Official with a chance of Bootleg.
I've never ordered from them before, so I can't say first hand how they are. I've been tempted though, but I'm trying to cut back to save up for my Japan trip in March.

I don't know about swapping, but I cancelled something I ordered from them two times. It took them about two or three days to answer, but they were always very helpful.
I don't think they just won't answer you, it just takes them a bit.

I should have totally gotten the Battousai, but that was a long time ago and I didn't have the money to throw around that I do now. 2001… that was like, "maggie has to save up her paper route money" times. Well, maybe "gotta slave away at retail sales" times LOL. As it was that Kenshin figure was a gift. Not the one that I wanted (battousai) but that's the story of my life. The guy that buys me the right gift I should probably marry ahaha.
