Naruto X Makes a Man Out of You
-
-
I was just browsing through another forum and I came upon the most awesome speculation ever.
Madara is actually Sasuke from the future.
Nah, he's too cool to be Sasuke.
-
Read chapter.
Gai's "chakra" is sweat. Wow.
So 3 tails=4th mizukage? Was this known before or is this new news?
And spoilers were way off on the ending. Kisame bit his tongue to force himself conscious. He seems to be alive and kicking. At least he didn't off himself, though I have no idea what could save him now.And this page made me think Gai's gonna rape Kisame.
http://mangastream.com/read/naruto/19840303/5
To be fair he did punch Kisame in the balls two pages later. -
Did anyone else notice that Kisame's left arm isn't connected to his body in the last panel? Did it just get torn off or is Kishi just lazy?
…Yeah, Kishi's just lazy.
-
@ultimateclima:
So 3 tails=4th mizukage? Was this known before or is this new news?
It was known. I also believe that his name is Yagura or something.
-
Too bad he didn't tongue off his teeth… those would have regrown at leasts!
(Bye bye, fishface! Swim and see your lover one last time first tho.) -
I don't get it. So he felt lost because it was his job to kill his comrades. But then he killed his sensei because he was a traitor but he still believed in his village or something so he kept listening to the misukage but then when he found out who was really in control he instantly sided with that person…he dreams of a world of truths? What does that even mean...
i feel like that entire flashback was supposed to give kisame a personality but it felt so forced and convoluted that now i'm just confused...
-
It should have given you the impression that all he ever heard and believed in was a lie and that's when he started to become friends with the original lier in order to create the lies himself, thus turning it to truth…
Needless to say that Kishishishi failed and this chapter is Fischwurst! -
…The hell? Is it just me or did Kishi just ruin my fav Naruto character? =/
-
I'm actually surprised at how well you all are taking this "My aura is made from my glowing blue sweat" thing.
-
…The hell? Is it just me or did Kishi just ruin my fav Naruto character? =/
He has a tendency to do that.
-
He has a tendency to do that.
If my lungs didn't hurt like hell right now, I would've thrown a tantrum.
-
I really liked this chapter.
- the 3rd and final battle
- kisame underestimating gai
- his revealed history
- the final roar of life
All in all a great chapter.
Seeing kisame's reaction to the truth behind the lies was interesting, though I'm confused by madara revealing himself..again.
Didn't madara reveal himself as tobi after sasuke beat itachi? Something doesn't add up.
-
@Zender:
- the 3rd and final battle
A rushed mess that was completely pointless.
@Zender:
- kisame underestimating gai
For good reason when 6 gates Gai could barely beat 30% Kisame. This total inversion of power between them was just ugh.
@Zender:
- his revealed history
Generic, bland and uninteresting. Kisame does what ninja fucking do. Big whoop, it added absolutely nothing to the narrative.
@Zender:
- the final roar of life
I agree that was a nice bit. I found it more funny than cool though. Doesn't change the fact that…he's biting his tongue.
-
Eh, didn't care for Kisame's flashback at all. It felt really forced. I liked the ending to the final battle, though.
-
It's a good thing all those skilled ninja restrained Kisame so he couldn't kill himself to hide information much less escape. They're the best!
-
…The hell? Is it just me or did Kishi just ruin my fav Naruto character? =/
Welcome to Naruto Part 2. Enjoy the ride.
-
So it sounds like that the reason Kisame called Madara Mizukage whenever ago in the manga was because he was the 4th Mizukage's puppet master and not that he was the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Mizukage. Although that does make sense for the puppetmaster to be seen as the true Mizukage.
-
Oh yes. Yzma was fabulous too.
And any animated villain that Tim Curry voices becomes the best character in the movie by default. Always.
Yzma was great. In both movie AND tv show.
And you'd be surprised how often Tim Curry's awesomeness comes up around here. He was the ONLY good thing about Ferngully.
I wonder if he could have made Avatar better. (James Cameron or Last Airbender, either/or.)
So a bet has been made between juju and robby (or has it?)
Even after I was generous and excluded the sand siblings, all female characters except Hinata, (since Juju had already proclaimed he doesn't think Ten Ten counts) and Shikimaru (since he did do something in part 2, even if it was 300 chapters ago), Juju said "no Choji." So, even he believes that the side characters won't do anything.
It took a while and it was roundabout, but I got him to proclaim the truth of the situation, even if only in relation to two characters. Its already done and over.
-
well I don't get how kisame was ruined but whatever…... what i want to know is wasn't kisame the last one to find out he was madara????? like really and now he apparently knew all along, so what's the point of that scene where he shows him his face after itachi dies and sasukes recruited
-
Well this chapter looked to be much worse in the spoilers.
Well I guess Kisame isn't dead yet.
-
For the people complaining about Kisame losing to Gai, at least he didn't go out like all of the other Akatsuki members - beaten by an inexperienced teenager, usually by a fluke.
-
For the people complaining about Kisame losing to Gai, at least he didn't go out like all of the other Akatsuki members - beaten by an inexperienced teenager, usually by a fluke.
Well, Gai also win by a fluke, if Kisame knew he wasn't using chakra, the fight would have been different.
-
For the people complaining about Kisame losing to Gai, at least he didn't go out like all of the other Akatsuki members - beaten by an inexperienced teenager, usually by a fluke.
Theres still next chapter.

Only because Naruto sprained his ankle.
And Guy happened to be there for no reason whatsoever.
I mean, Guy is awesome. But there was no point in him being on the island except to conveniently run into Kisame while the two powerhouses were distracted….
...by Naruto's sprained ankle.
-
…The hell? Is it just me or did Kishi just ruin my fav Naruto character? =/
I think its just you, The chapter was great.

6 gates gai didn't barley beat Kisame. LMAO http://www.mangareader.net/93-263-17/naruto/chapter-258.html He ripped him apart.
All Kisame got was more chakra, He didn't get faster or stronger.Kisame past is of a cold blooded Ninja. Thats great.
So he didn't commit suicide.
-
@Thousand:
A rushed mess that was completely pointless.
This is a ninja battle, not some endless DBZ power struggle. Why do people think it should be anything but brief?
For good reason when 6 gates Gai could barely beat 30% Kisame. This total inversion of power between them was just ugh.
Gai instantly beat him during the second round when opening the sixth gate.
Wasn't it obvious how they spent the first half of the fighting trying to gauge each other.
Generic, bland and uninteresting. Kisame does what ninja fucking do. Big whoop, it added absolutely nothing to the narrative.
It added massively to the depth of the story by revealing yet another ninja caught in a shady world of misunderstanding. Kind of seems normal to carry on the theme we've seen countlessly throughout the series.
I agree that was a nice bit. I found it more funny than cool though. Doesn't change the fact that…he's biting his tongue.
We still havent actually seen his moment of death. But either way him spewing out masses out blood in his last moments made it just that more shocking/interesting.
-
I think its just you, The chapter was great.
It was a rhetorical question Juju. You didn't have to answer it. For me Kisame's character just got completely and utterly ruined. Kisame's flashback was bloody idiotic. While he found out that Madara was the reason for his entire life 'being a lie', instead of attacking him he went like "Lul 'kay I'll join you!" Bull. Only two points I liked in the chapter and one of them was artistic-wise while the other was Gai (though the blue sweat thing was also quite stupid imo). So now I've got Hinata left and she's kinda forgotten…like 99.4% of the side-characters in Naruto.
-
6 gates gai didn't barley beat Kisame. LMAO http://www.mangareader.net/93-263-17/naruto/chapter-258.html He ripped him apart.
Still, 70% compared to one extra gate. I expect at the very least an even battle if not Kisame outmatching Gai for the majority of the battle as well as maybe Gai opening the final gate. Not this one-sided disaster that it was.
All Kisame got was more chakra, He didn't get faster or stronger.
Chakra=Ki=Reiatsu=Power Level is it not? Kisame should have been able to use a multitude of S-ranked jutsus.Instead we just got wall of sharks and he was done.
Kisame past is of a cold blooded Ninja. Thats great.
It was boring and cliche like Kishimoto was merely following the ropes of a basic story without adding any life to it. Why did we even need to see it? We knew he's a cold-blooded ninja who'd do whatever it takes, it was completely pointless and bland as hell.
So he didn't commit suicide.
Didn't he? Still makes him look like a joke.
-
well I don't get how kisame was ruined but whatever…... what i want to know is wasn't kisame the last one to find out he was madara????? like really and now he apparently knew all along, so what's the point of that scene where he shows him his face after itachi dies and sasukes recruited
He wasn't wearing a mask back then. He joined the group has Tobi with short hair and masked.
-
@Zender:
This is a ninja battle, not some endless DBZ power struggle. Why do people think it should be anything but brief?G
Because its a shonen battle manga and creative badass fights are its lifeblood.
-
This Gai and Kisame thing just feels like Kishi was drawing the Kisame's death scene and remembered Gai and Kisame's being rivals.
Then he retconed the whole thing next chapter and brought Gai along for no reason to fight Kisame for one chapter.
Its a bad taste in my mouth.
-
@robbybedfart:
Because its a shonen battle manga and creative badass fights are its lifeblood.
Hand to hand combat….

I didn't expect Gai to kill himself with the 8 Gates here. Sorry He did use S rank jutsus and so did Gai
I think we needed to see when Madara recruited him and how he new who Madara was. They also show hhe is ruthless.
Actually this chapter improved Kisame not make him look like a joke. He just took Gai attacks and still have the willpower to escape. Even chopper is confused by how u say this chapter ruined Kisame.
-
@Zender:
This is a ninja battle, not some endless DBZ power struggle. Why do people think it should be anything but brief?
It was also the resolution of a longed hyped up battle. What type of battle it is is irrelevant in the face of writing a good story especially since the ninja thing is just a gimmick anyway as no one really acts like a ninja in this series.
@Zender:
Gai instantly beat him during the second round when opening the sixth gate. Wasn't it obvious how they spent the first half of the fighting trying to gauge each other.
His 30% clone self. Simple math dictates they should have at least been around even. More important than story consistency, the fact that this WAS the resolution of a rivalry set up 400 chapters ago begged a hard battle for both combatants with plenty of flashbacks to draw out emotional connections
@Zender:
It added massively to the depth of the story by revealing yet another ninja caught in a shady world of misunderstanding.
Eh no, this is you giving more credit to Kishimoto's writing skills than he deserves. It was a cookie cutter flashback of insert ninja A doing what ninja do. It added absolutely nothing to the story. We knew Kisame was an extremely abled ninja who didn't like his village. Big whoop. The fact that this came after he already died once just makes the whole thing more pointless.
@Zender:
Kind of seems normal to carry on the theme we've seen countlessly throughout the series.
So…you admit it yourself that this flashback was pointless? That being a ninja is tough and seeing it again with Kisame added absolutely nothing to the story?
@Zender:
We still havent actually seen his moment of death. But either way him spewing out masses out blood in his last moments made it just that more shocking/interesting.
That was hilariously stupid. Exaggerated effects for such a lame act. Like Light eating a potato chip.
-
I still don't get how Kisame was first introduced to Madara?
Because we've seen them meet in Kisame's flashback, and again reveal himself as Tobi…
(why charade as someone else)Anyone have some thoughts on this?
-
This Gai and Kisame thing just feels like Kishi was drawing the Kisame's death scene and remembered Gai and Kisame's being rivals.
Then he retconed the whole thing next chapter and brought Gai along for no reason to fight Kisame for one chapter.
Its a bad taste in my mouth.
That would make sense if everyone wasn't saying how fishy Kisame death was and they believe he is still alive. I told you guys he wasn't dead and many people said the samething.
-
If Zetsu clone jutsu thing was foreshadowed in any way before I would agree with you, but it wasn't.
-
@robbybedfart:
Because its a shonen battle manga and creative badass fights are its lifeblood.
Please elaborate.

Retconned it like, 30 chapters later, actually.
@Zender:
Hand to hand combat….
I don't understand your point?
Plus you act like the other two battles never occured when in fact the overall 3 fights combined were long.
They were so long ago and so little happened, I remember nothing about them. At all. Yet I still clearly remember the Lee/Gaara fight and revisit that one often. Didn't they just sort of stare in the first one, and wasn't the second just a 1/3 power clone?
Three encounters spread over 400 chapters don't count as a single fight.
Unless you're going to claim Goku fighting Vegeta with Kaioken and giant ape mode during the Saiyin saga was the same battle as when they were going Super 2 and Maijin ten years later during the Buu saga?
-
@robbybedfart:
Retconned it like, 30 chapters later, actually.
I meant him appearing alive next chapter, but yeah the explanation of Zetsu's jutsu is a better example.

Its not anyone fault you don't remember the fights. I forget alot of fights too in mangas.
-
I didn't expect Gai to kill himself with the 8 Gates here.
Why not? Would have been a fitting battle. End of a 400 chapter rivalry, hopefully redeem Akatsuki from being the joke of an organization it is. Besides with all the death cop-outs including Chouji, Neiji and mass ressurection, it's not like opening eight gates is a threat anymore.
@juju14:Sorry He did use S rank jutsus and so did Gai
Yeah one and then he was done. His 30% clone was more impressive. Being the guy with a ton of chakra meant his techniques should have had way more power anyway so Gai overpowering his techniques like that made no sense.

He was made to look like a bitch by an established inferior opponent and then bit his own tongue. Really badass.
Even chopper is confused by how u say this chapter ruined Kisame.
And Chrissie thinks the chapter ruined him. What does that have to do with anything?
Yes TLC everything in Naruto is pointless. Hurry up and respond to my post.
Calm down Juju. See I actually read your posts and then think about what to write.

Especially since the ninja thing is just a gimmick anyway as no one really acts like a ninja in this series.
You think nobody acts like a ninja in this series…..lol.
His 30% clone self. Simple math dictates they should have at least been around even.
I'd like to see the logic behind your maths.
(seems more like wild speculation)Eh no, this is you giving more credit to Kishimoto's writing skills than he deserves.
No this is you typically saying every single action Kishimoto has made is wrong. Get off the bandwagon and stop thinking its cool.
It was a cookie cutter flashback of insert ninja A doing what ninja do. It added absolutely nothing to the story.
We still don't know the possible implications his flashback will have on the future story.
So…you admit it yourself that this flashback was pointless? That being a ninja is tough and seeing it again with Kisame added absolutely nothing to the story?
The flashback offered us several things that needed to be covered.
- how he fell out with his village
- how the mizukage/host was a puppet
- samehades origins/previous owner
- etc.
That was hilariously stupid. Exaggerated effects for such a lame act. Like Light eating a potato chip.
…...............
-
@robbybedfart:
I don't understand your point?
I think he's trying to insinuate there's a limit to how creative hand-to-hand fights can be. My answer would be he has a really limited taste in shonen and he skipped part one of this series.
@Zender:
You think nobody acts like a ninja in this series…..lol.
The only true ninja in this series were Haku and Zabuza which Kishimoto made sure to quickly kill off. The star "ninja" is a loud-mouthed, hot-headed, reckless brat that wears orange.
Here's a nice ninja tactic for you.
"Look that way!"
"Damn, a clone!!"
"Look the other way!"
"Damn, another clone, agh!!!"
In a fight involving an S-ranked ninja no less.@Zender:
I'd like to see the logic behind your maths.
(seems more like wild speculation)
1 extra gate>>>>>>>>>70% clearly laid out in the series no less.@Zender:
No this is you typically saying every single action Kishimoto has made is wrong. Get off the bandwagon and stop thinking its cool.
How about instead of playing the hater card, you address my issues?
@Zender:
We still don't know the possible implications his flashback will have on the future story.
Yeah, who knows the vast effects knowing that a rogue ninja that's about to die acted like a ninja and went rogue because he didn't like his village. The implications are astounding.
@Zender:
The flashback offered us several things that needed to be covered.
- how he fell out with his village
Which adds nothing to the story.

Like?
@Zender:
…................
Ellipses aren't an argument.
-
@Zender:
I'd like to see the logic behind your maths.
Again, I've already granted I don't remember their other fights much at all. But. Simple math.
Guy had trouble with a 30% clone.
Ergo.
Guy should have had a lot of trouble with a 100% real deal.
Or did Guy completely hose the 30% clone with one hand behind his back without breaking a sweat?
-
@Thousand:

Why does asksuki have to redeem? They captured 7 tail beast. The fight was epic and Gai Punch to the stomach was great.
His 30%clone got instanly killed by 6 Gates Gai. Gai had to use his most powerful attack to kill the real Kisame. How didn't make sense. He just got more chakra to use.
It adds to the story by showing how Madara met Kisame and why he send him on this mission of getting Intel. Also shows how Kisame nows his identity.
I am calm.
-

6 gated Gai beat Kisame and took his lunch money in the previous fight. After he beat him, Later, he even picked up Kakashi and ran back to the village thinking it was a competition.
-
Why does asksuki have to redeem? They captured 7 tail beast.
Because they're a fucking joke that got schooled by rookies no less. Do we really need to go into the Kakuzo fiasco? This is ANOTHER can of beans worthy of a monster post on it's own.
The fight was epic and Gai Punch to the stomach was great.
You mean all that matters in a fight is that it looks flashy and cool? Never mind story consistency, story development, character build-up. Just epic punches to the gut? Thanks for opening my eyes Juju.
His 30% clone got instanly killed by 6 Gates Gai.
Big deal, his 50% clone could have been reasonably equal to 6 gates then and his 80% reasonably equal to 7 gates. I know I'm pulling these numbers out my ass but my point is that in terms of not only power continuity but story development, the notion that 7 gates Guy is that much stronger than the 100% real deal is ridiculous and underwhelming. Kishimoto reasonably built things up for an epic battle with the careful power display which could have even resulted in eight gates guy and he just threw it down the toilet with this rushed mess of a fight.
Gai had to use his most powerful attack to kill the real Kisame. How didn't make sense.
Because going by story consistency Gai's most powerul technique should be weaker than Kisame's or, being very lenient, around even.
He just got more chakra to use.
The more chakra you have, the more you can put in a technique. The fact that you're now covering your eyes to the fundamental power system of this series speaks quite a bit about your debating skills Juju.
It adds to the story by showing how Madara met Kisame and why he send him on this mission of getting Intel. Also shows how Kisame nows his identity.
Showing exactly how things we know have happened, happened for a pointless, dead character adds something to the story somehow?
