I agree that the most important thing is sculpt. If it came down to it, I'd repaint something myself. Re-sculpting is harder XD Plus for the price point (4x+ more), POPs had better have an amazing paint job, and GLMs are a downright steal. Plus all those damn QC issues with the POPs breaking and whatnot lately, anyway… yeesh.

I had GLM shanks but I was really displeased with the quality and overall look so I sold him. My Law, Ace, and Luffy are amazing though. In brutal honesty, I'm a diehard POP collector but I would sooner sell off my POP luffys than have someone pry my GLM luffy out of my possession. I'm pretty possessive of that little guy.

oh well.. i guess we need something that is between GLM and the POP.. that would give us the best of both world…

hmm.. speaking of that.. i think the Super Dx figures sit in nicely on that position.

hope that they will continue that line of figures so that i can give up on the expensive POP~

I wouldn't know about Jinbei since I have neither the POP nor the GLM, but for me, the worst kind of "flaw" on a figure meant to be a full scale rendition is bad sculpting. The POPs are usually colored neatly, but if I don't even see the character in the figure itself it's hard for me to enjoy it. Whereas I understand painting errors that come from mass production. Maybe the GLM figures after the first series weren't as good or something? Cause my GLM Ace isn't perfect but I find it far more aesthetically pleasing in terms of sculpting and in terms of color, and any paint errors are really not that noticeable imo. But to each his own. o:

while i love my POPs and wouldn't want to miss any of them .. i find it more and more easier to skip upcoming POPs. the only i'm getting besides SW zoro, chopper and franky are garp .. and whitebeard. GLM however … the only one i skipped was mihawk ^^ and that's only coz i got his POP and his dx figure on preorder. sure, GLM aren't of such a high quality as POPs but i don't care as long as the sculpt is amazing like that. i wanna see the character in my figures! i wanna look at the figure and say "that's the insert characters name i know!!" for me, banpresto pulls this off very well. :D and i find myself looking forward to their releases more than i do for the ones of megahouse. ^^'' but that's just a matter of taste, ne?

Banpresto's Brotherhood looks alright but I think MegaHouse v2s will look better if Ace is facing the perfect angle not to notice the flaws.
I'd say MegaHouse Luffy looks better and Banpresto's Ace looks a bit better because they didn't really take any risks judging by the non-painted preview.

I don't even know what to do for future figure storage. I have 6 P.O.P pre-ordered and the CT figs coming but the only solution so far is a wall shelf for Chrono.

I don't want to get a second Detolf because imo it will start to look odd having that many but at the same time, I don't really have a choice.

I hate this.

She is the one that did the Let's Play Pirates fan art. I really liked this piece but it did not have all the Straw Hats so I commissioned her to redo it for me and I had her throw in Ace for Good Measure =) Hey we gotta have ace.

And also I was wondering, do those shelves (detolf, right?) prevent dust from getting on the figures? It's not too much of a big deal if it doesn't, I'd resort to using a brand new paint brush to dust them off if they get dust anyways.

Got in my DX shichibukai jinbei & doflamingo. Meh. I'm not a huge fan of either character, so I had neither high nor low expectations. In the manga I always had some kind of reaction towards doflamingo (ooh that sneaky bastard! XD) so I suppose I may have expected him to look a different way.

Have to agree he looks odd (granny) from the side. His face seems awfully long and flat, and I hate the black outline around his mouth. Why did they do that? Ace's teeth are showing as well, but there's no black outline. Overall, though, he's not that bad. Just not what I imagined. Good GLM quality for the money, though shipping is a bitch because of the weight of his coat. If I had to choose I'd keep my WCF dofla over this one. Maybe I just need Dofla to be doing the finger thing ahaha

Jinbei's alright. I do think that <amazingly>the POPs got him better. Other than some regular factory marks and not the most exceptional paint job, it's still an alright figure.

Ultimately, though, I think I'll end up reselling the pair of them. For the DX shichibukai GLM I bet I'll only hold onto Croc and Mihawk, possibly Moria and Kurohige. I hate not keeping a whole set, though LOL. How silly of me. Usually I love the GLM but I feel like these two figures weren't dynamic enough for me to love them wholeheartedly. Some of the others will have a lot more movement, so we'll have to wait and see.

Also got my POP SW Brook. Definitely leans. I noticed on the back of the box they even slightly tilt the image of Brook so he looks straighter. Damn you Megahouse! I feel like this leaning thing will become a problem over time. He looks beautiful, though! Too bad I got a wonderfully finished POP the same day I got some Banpresto figures XD Makes the quality gap more apparent.</amazingly>

Yeah.. I'm going to have to get my father to build a display case since he's a contractor and ex-artist, could get something really nice that isn't assembly required garbage with a very low weight limit per shelf.

I got my DX Doflamingo just TWO DAYS after getting my SW Sanji P.O.p from HLJ O_O that was the FASTEST I've EVER gotten ANYTHING from HLJ that I didn't have shipped fast, I just had it shipped normal xD I can't believe how fast they got here, both of them within' 10 days or less O_O I think the DX line of figures is Just AMAZING!! I compared them with the GLM and honestly, they're pretty much the same quality to me. I think they're both amazing, GLM and DX are definitely winners in my book!!

Was anyone else highly amused that Sanji and Brooke came with instructions?

Also, those who are complaining that Brooke's looking down too much, keep in mind that his head is attached with a rolling peg, meaning you can adjust the angle and such. I don't think he's really leaning all that much either–the leg that's touching the ground seems pretty straight. His other leg gives the leaning impression. It is rather worrisome that he's only got one leg down, especially considering the height of the figure. I hope he's firmly grounded enough. I had some issues with the gun strap as well, but I did get it to attach eventually without having to alter it.

Also, regarding the Hancock pics posted a while back, I tend to agree with Maggie, especially considering the look of cast-offs.

Plus I really hate the look of the removable clothing. Having it 'float' on the figure. That always annoyed me about luffy, and also about my odin sphere velvet figure. I hate the look of it on the nami coming out, makes her look like a Gtaste figure or something.

I can't remember which one it was, but there was a pic from one of the toy shows in Japan that showed a bit of a crack at the bottom of the shirt on ending verion Nami, where you could see some pink showing through. Problem is, the crack showed up on the wrong side of the buttons. So, not between the side of the shirt with the buttons and the side with the buttonholes, but down the seam of the side with the buttons. Maybe I'm just being a brat, but if I'm going to be spending that much on a figure, I want the clothing and accessories to look natural. That's why black dress Nami is currently wearing SW Luffy's hat–it fits her smooth head better than his spiky one.

Yeah…I hate to get all anal, but I don't think I'm being unreasonable. Most Ebay sellers go by a mail within 7 days guideline, and communication is one of the most important things. Did you get any response from her at all? She hasn't been logging in to APforums but one could easily lurk without logging in.

In any case, I'm sorry to have to jump to conclusions, Gunbunny, but I've just filed a dispute through PayPal to get my money back. Like I said, I don't think I'm being unreasonable at this point. It wasn't much money, but it's the thought that counts...and if it's going to be this much stress, I'd much rather use that money to ask crease if he could find the same cards for me on YJ. :/

I don't think you're being unreasonable. Even if hypothetically, she was very busy, it's irresponsible to sell things when you know you won't have the time to ship them or unable to ship them at all.

The last time she replied to me was on August 10th when I asked her for her paypal account, and that's the day I paid her for it. A few days later I sent her another pm asking if she had sent it out and I haven't gotten a response. The last time she logged in here according to her profile was the 19th.
I know it was only $6.50 in total.. but money is money, and I have a FOWLR tank to take care of on only allowance. $6.50 could easily get me 10 gallons of RO/DI premixed saltwater. =/

She responded to me a few times - once when I first asked her when she'd send it out, and another time after that day had passed and I messaged to ask what was up because she didn't give me a message to let me know.

I paid the 11th. She told me she "does her sending on Mondays", which would mean the 16th. That date passed and I didn't get an update (cause logically you would want to appease your buyers and send a message to let them know it shipped, right…?) so I emailed again. She finally responded saying her boyfriend's car broke down and that he'd be getting paid soon and would fix the car by Friday (20th), which would be the day she went and mailed. Friday passed with no update. Saturday came and I emailed again asking if she was able to send it out. No response till even now.

She also said on the 19th that her internet is bad during severe weather, but...bad weather, car breaking down all coincidentally happening at once? And bad weather continuing for two weeks non-stop? I also asked her to refund my money earlier before Friday and said I'd gladly resend the payment once she could let me know 100% that she would be able to send the package out, and then she said she had another Lucci card for sale, so I figured I'd wait a bit longer and hopefully be able to buy that one too...but now I almost feel like that was just a way to get me to wait more eagerly. ;-; Again, I'm sorry if I'm mistaken, Gunbunny, but either way, I'd really just like my money back now.

Hmm, looking through her posts gives me a bit of hope. The last post she made she said she was "doing a package run tomorrow," and looking through her sales post on LJ I noticed that the FC Doflamingo is no longer on the bookshelf where it used to be. (or in any of the other pictures)
