Idle speculation thread- What Do You Want One Piece Movie 11 To Be About?

I honestly think they should hold off on another movie for the following reasons:

1. Despite not having it's fans Movie 6 did set a pretty high bar in terms of quality, Movie 7 was a return to the standard and many fans felt underwhelmed until around Movie 9. Movie 10 set an even higher bar that think it would be a pretty bad move for Toei to release another movie that is nothing more than an extended filler episode.

2. The manga is going through a huge transition period where the status quo is changing all over the place. I think until the dust clears, the crew is reunited, and we have a sense of balanced out arcs again they should avoid making another movie.

I guess what I'm saying is that with the exception of Movie 7 all the movies since 6 have been creative and diverse ways in re-imagining previous arcs, exploring artistic license, and playing around with different forms of storytelling so I think Toei should avoid the "well despite what's going on in the manga lets ignore all that and tell a story with the current crew and maybe allude to Haki-power ups for Luffy while fighting generic villian Y" or "Hey, let's retale this popular arc and shift a bunch of stuff around". Water Seven/Enies Lobby may have been a few years ago but it still feels like "too soon" to make a movie version, and retelling the entire East Blue arc seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

Retelling the whole East Blue arc actually sounds like the best choice if you were to consider the correspondance with the manga and movie 10. If Strong World truly takes place after the StrawHats reunite I mean.

The series director for "One Piece" actually said at Anime Expo that he can pretty much do whatever he wants to do for the movies except the R-rated stuff. I'd love to see a "One Piece" movie full of sex and gruesome violence.

(Luffy getting his powers, getting the hat from shanks, the story about him and ace, ect, and ending with him popping outta the barrel with a "This is how the story begins" ending.)

But like I said, bad idea is bad. It'd be a good movie for getting people into One Piece though.

I wouldn't mind a retelling of the Luffy/Ace flashback, though I honestly wouldn't prefer it all the same. I'm a confident believer that Oda still has many parts of Luffy's past planned and a movie about it would make most assume that what he's given us is it.

The 8th movie sucked and doesn't deserve to kiss the ground FUNimation walks on, and the 9th had decent fighting.

Seems pretty complicated, even for Toei. I also don't see them doing a trilogy on the whole war.

I've seen some pretty awesome ideas in here… just want to throw my opinion in.

• A focus on a Supernova, or a general movie about each of their most important adventures or something.
• A movie focused on the past. Showing Garp, Sengoku, WB, Shiki and Roger.
• A retelling of Enies Lobby or Skypiea wouldn't be bad. Although, I've never seen 8 or 9 so I can't say.
• I'd also not mind an animated version of random cover stories. Although this really should've been done in the anime >_>

I second this notion. A lot. You know, in a a story about pirates and slaves you would think that rape would be a common thing, but I really don't think that Oda even thought about this. I guess it's just way too dark and not seinen. Some more profane language would be nice, but will never happen, so whatever.

Perhaps a movie about encountering Boa Hancock's former slave master? Perhaps he was the former Commander - in - Chief of the World Goverment before the incident with Fisher Tiger and getting replaced by Kong. I mean, who could be the Commander - in - Chief back when Kong was still the Fleet Admiral. Perhaps the highest Tenryūbito and former literal "King of The World"?

Why? DB had a pretty crappy live-action movie, One Piece doesn't deserve such a fate.

I think that it should be Luffy's flashback to save the trouble of watching through episodes 1 week at a time it will all be at once and make it easier on everyone
