I think he/she was referring to how long it takes for the pose to rewrite, not lock on to the next island…? As in, you go to an island that your pose is NOT locking on to, and then it rewrites to that islands course instead.
It's the same difference though, isn't it? I assumed whenever you get to a new island, whether or not that island was the one the pose was pointing at, it would lock on to the next island in X amount of time depending on the island itself.

I would think so. Once a log pose locks it is set on that island until you go onto another island where it will lock onto the next island. I do not think being out in the middle of the ocean for long periods of time will eventually cause the log pose to change course because you took too long.

It was definitely pointing to Upper Yard, that's one of the reasons the crew needed to rush to for the knock up stream. Nami said that if they stayed an extra day on Jaya, the log pose would lock on to the next island. The same conversation more or less occurred when everyone laughed at Nami in the bar about the existence of sky islands. Edit: Are you assuming Fishman Island isn't a physical island?

I mean it's completely possible that it's just an "island" that is just underwater, but I think that it's just as likely that the "Island" could be a city on top of the ocean floor.
In short I have no clue what Fishman Island will be like.

She made that comment to create mystery and suspense for the reader, at that point we did not know it was not an island, but rather a boat.

Had the crew remained on Skypiea, their Log Pose probably wouldn't have led them to Long Ring Lond Land, but rather to another sky island. However, they were on Upper Yard, a Blue Sea island, which led them back to the Blue Sea. Had they missed the Knockup Stream they likely would've gone on to LRL anyway.

this island(TB) also isnt from the GL so it shouldnt have that magnetic stone in it.

the upper yard was on a "king-cloud"(?right?) which was moving all the time..still the Log Pose reacted to it…
that it`s not directly reacted to jaya could have been because Upper Yard seems to me to be the part of the island with the bigger mass...means it should effect more the Log Pose ,when close enough.

in the white seas you should be able to navigate just like in East Blue( a normal sea).

I dunno. "Reacting", to me, indicates that being on the island should have changed something. Brook then explains that it came from a different sea, which is why it didn't do anything. The crew used an Eternal Pose to reach Jaya though, and was only concerned about it being reset to the next island once Jaya's duration ran out, which is a point in favor for you. I don't think Oda has paid enough attention to his own rules in that regard though. It's probably easiest to just assume it will rewrite after the required time on an island like you said.

I'm not sure what you are asking… the Sky Islands aren't land with earth from the Grand Line, so yeah it wouldn't lock otherwise. The type of clouds up there are what allows travel and whatnot. Land Cloud, Sea Cloud, etc. As far as I can tell, since Jaya is split into two sections now (Upper Yard and Jaya), some people have it locked to Upper Yard while others get Jaya like normal. Being on Jaya for the three days or whatever causes it to reset either way, and people move on, thus the scene in the bar.

Hmm.. My understanding of the Log Pose was that it needed to be surrounded by a magnetic field to detect the other islands. Like, it would lock on to the field of whatever island was pulling on the current island the strongest. Hence why it must be set manually at Reverse Mountain, which lacks a magnetic field, and why it shouldn't randomly reset itself in the middle of the ocean.
But it did when that giant galleon fell on top of the Straw Hats, and it did so immediately. Worse yet, it was pointing to the sky. Bellamy said that "Log Poses go haywire all the time," implying that it wasn't unheard of for them to randomly point at the sky or the sea.
So I'd say that there are at least a few islands on the White Sea made up of "Magnet Cloud" that have very weak magnetic fields. The galleon must have been sailing on one such cloud, and the field came close enough to Nami's Log Pose to change its target immediately.
But was it pointing to Upper Yard or Skypiea? If it were pointing to Upper Yard it would've pointed to Jaya instead of the sky, unless proximity to the "Magnet Cloud" altered the magnetic charge of Upper Yard significantly enough to make it repel Jaya's field. I dunno. It doesn't matter at this point, anyway.

Why wouldn't the Supernova's just use those alternatives which would be closer to their stops? Instead they travel all the way to Sabaody Archipelago which makes it seem like Fishman Island is the only possible route for pirates. It'd be something if the alternative method involved climbing over the Red Line which would require a badassedry level on par with Fisher Tiger.

That pretty much clears up my confusion of Skypiea and Jaya. My original point was along Darkstorm's reasoning that the log could change since there might be a magnetic pull closer than fishman island and if that would affect Nami's solo adventure. Moot like mentioned earlier but interesting none-the-less.

I don't think those chains were seastone, because that would mean that Blackbeard has access to it and… well, that just doesn't seem like One Piece. The only ones "allowed" to use seastone are the marines, at least, it has been until now (Well, with the exception of ¿Wiper? in the sky island...).
Come to think of it, where the hell did Blackbeard get those chains from anyway? Did one of the prisoners or Shiliew bring them all the way from Impel Down? If so, then that's a lot of metal to keep in your pocket.

It is not too far a stretch to think they took some seastone cuffs with them out of ID. BB never has to handle them because he has a big crew and we know distance does not cause the effect because of smoker.

I misinterpreted. When "bypass Fishman Island" was suggested I thought you all meant make it to the New World without going through the hole under the Red Line (where Fishman Island resides). I was pointing out that wouldn't be likely but I see my explanation of that was unnecessary. You all were talking about the other Supernovas just sailing by Fishman Island without having to stop for their Log Posses.
On the alternative method note though, Pappug did say "There are actually two ways to get from the New World from here." I'm probably misinterpreting that too but I remember there being multiple entrances to the start of the Grand Line the Strawhat Crew were unwary of.

They do not mention the pose in Drum because they got the eternal pose from Mr. 3. They do not mention it on Arabasta because they were there for a few weeks.
I do not know what the confusion is, they need to be on an island for a set amount of time for the pose to set. They were not on Jaya for a long enough time, and people passing by Fishman island will not have enough time to change the pose either.
