Felch Discussion Part 3
-
-
As I said, he presents an actual challenge to the heroes. He presents an big enough threat to the entire Bleachverse. It's kinda like the Anti-Monitor from Crisis on Infinite Earths only except Aizen does it with style. The Anti-Monitor was about as cliche as an villain could be.
It's not compelling to me in the least. I don't find a character who's just inexplicably smarter and more powerful than every other half-assed character in this sad excuse for a manga interesting. What's his drive, his reason? Apparently he wants to be a god, that so hasn't been done before. But it's not just that, Kubo makes him look worse and worse. Anyways, you're clearly set in your beliefs and I've got work in the morning and arguing with someone who seriously used the word "haterade" is an exercise in futility. I'm out, enjoy your manga with its uber-butterfly villain.
-
Oh wow. He seriously used a DC Comics plot device as an example of an exciting character. He used the Anti-Monitor as that example.
Here's a hint boyo, people stopped caring about the Anti-Monitor when the editors decided it would be peachy if they used him every time they needed something to explain away whatever crossover they were working on. People liked him, really enjoyed him the first time because he posed a threat, and killed the heroes. They got resurrected later, obviously because DC can't let good decisions get in the way of their cash cows, but the briefness managed to contain and make Anti-Monitor cool. He's a cool plot device based on a bullshit understanding of physics, and nothing else.
Aizen has had hundreds of chapters and shown many, many more times. There are no motivations, no desires, no personality or characterization aside from 'smug'. Anti-Monitor was given a pass on this because he wasn't in any way human. He was a cosmic baby, and it's known what he wants by everyone. Aizen's shown he can demonstrate, or at least mimic the reactions found in people. There's emotion there, even if it is warped, ridiculous, and unbelievable. He has no excuse.
Someone needs a book. A good book.

Here's what I think.
I think Aizen (and Bleach as of late) is pretty weak, character-wise (not tier-wise, obviously he basically cannot be touched).
However, some people are REALLY over exaggerating how bad Aizen (and also Bleach) is.
Well, Bleach at least… is a shonen manga. That's it. it doesn't need to be this holy grail of literature (and no, One Piece isn't either). If Kubo wants to do it this way... then... so be it. He's not trying to "troll" or "whatever stupid internet term" anyone.
I think everyone here just expects too much from this medium... you wanna read wholesome stuff, you might as well stop reading manga all together. That's not why it exists.
-
You just schooled a troll on some interesting DC Comics history there, RBoar. Don't feed it.
-
As I can see, more haters are hating on Aizen-sama.
Keep on drinking the haterade. Seriously, grow the hell up.
Whoa buddy. Don't get your nutsack tied in a knot.
Anime is serious business.
I'm betting Gaara, Zoom and Chicken are all the same person.

Personally, I've never claimed that the author's tried 'trolling' anyone. That he's a shit writer, this I have. I also know very well what I'm reading, and you'd have to fail pretty fucking hard to make it bad in a comparative sense.

An image of the godlike Aizen. There should be an Aizen fan club here at AP but it's too bad that i'm the only Aizen fan here.
Oh, how about former Aizen fan? I liked Aizen after his betrayal of Soul Society. His invasion of the fake Karakura Town. His initial personality. He was just an unknown entity with a power greater than any other and I liked his smug self assurance. His confidence and planning. Now this bastard is overpowered to the point of, "Well, fuck it"! And I'm not talking about Enel "overpowered" because it was so obvious from the begenning what his particular weakness would be and we know anyone with Haki could hit him…but I digress.
Aizen IS power spammed to infinite. He has no apparent weaknesses and when a true weakness is finally revealed it's going to be something stupid and imagined in a week of planning. It won't make sense and if Ichigo beats him this arc that also won't make sense.
Aizen was fun before because even with all his power we knew if someone just got as powerful as him they could beat him. He wasn't untouchable. Now with this kind of power he should be untouchable and where's the fun in that? This man has no flaws. He's boring and generic.
-
I'm betting Gaara, Zoom and Chicken are all the same person.
I'm betting you didn't read all of my posts on the previous page. :ninja:
-
So Zoom.. You are saying Kefka is a ripoff? From whom may I ask? If you think he is a rippoff from Sephiroth, you are quite bad. If not, I'd like to know who though.
I'm not even going to comment on Aizens wings, its not worth it. But I did want to bring this up. At one of the later pages, where Gin is holding out his right hand on page 10. It looks like a big chunk of his arm is chomped off. I cant remember any instance when he could have gotten this wound.
-

It's on page 7, where Aizen takes a swipe at him.

Oh I get it. Your opinion is nuetral with attempts to respect both sides. Everyone else that thinks otherwise takes things out of proportion. Especially coming from a shonen/manga/whatever medium it be. Everything makes sense now.
-

Really? I thought that was just a dramatic sideroll jump away from Gin, and Aizen just swaying his arm uncontrollably because he is falling down.
-
Y'know even tho bleach is bad I find it quite entertaining but it's kinda gotten to a point that kubo is just repeating himself ect someone tries to kill aizen and it seems to be working but then he troll 'em. Question; is there some part of kubo's brain that tells him that readers are actually on the edge of their seats in anticipation to know whether aizen will be defeated the next chapter when we clearly know he won't.
By all mean, do a good deeds for future young readers and update this picture.

When you constantly draw teeth like this
[hide][/hide]I doubt you'll do a much better job with action shots.
-
Kubo doesn't like to waste ink. Or words. Or his time, writing a proper story.

I'm just saying… you're expecting too much from this medium.
If this was something that usually pumps out quality, then yeah, Bleach would be a fucking """INSULT""" as many are implying over and over and over and over again.
But it's not. It's just manga. A shonen manga. Bleach is... pretty bleh... i'll give you that. But since the medium doesn't really tread on having "quality" and "thought-inducing" work... Saying it's an """INSULT""" (not saying that's what you, or anyone said... particularity... just the vibe I'm getting from the way some of you post) strikes me as being a little over dramatic.
It's just... whatever. >_>
-
Hmmm Aizen has put some of his minions among us.
Just according to his plan.
-
! By being a reset button that allows him to do this all over again.
NOOO !!!!
Angels have feathers.
Why couldn't he turn into a throne then ?
Thrones are angles who look like large shining wheels covered in eyes , btw .
ALL HAIL AIZEN SAMA ALL HAIL AIZEN SAMA
BANZAI !!! :ninja:
-
@No:
BANZAI !!! :ninja:
Aizen-sama banzai! Banzai! BANZAI!
Edit: Anyone starting to wonder if Kubo is purposely being horrible because he knows it'll still sell and wants to see how low it can sink before it stops selling? No? Ok, I'm just a crazy newbie then… -

Edit: Anyone starting to wonder if Kubo is purposely being horrible because he knows it'll still sell and wants to see how low it can sink before it stops selling? No? Ok, I'm just a crazy newbie then…Well I sort of wish Kubo went with some self-sabotage but for the most part the most die-hard keep eating it up.
Though he is doing one thing right: we all hate Aizen now. (well OK, maybe not the way he intended but this is the guy who essentially said "OK, so I had the Grand Fisher have a bit of his mask removed when he returned to HM…maybe that could be the basis of a whole new arc now that SS is over...")
-
@Tokoro:

This is very true. Though I actually kinda like Aizen solely for the unintended satireability of his "just as planned"/"keikaku doori"ness. I suppose liking him for that was all according to his plan… And yeah, it gets old, but then a new chapter comes out and refreshes the joking appreciation of his Trollishness. Basically I like him for being such a good hateable and satireable villain.

Fucking this.
This is what i feel about Aizen.
Thats why i enjoy reading Bleach more than Naruto now.
-
Felch? Fail Belch or what? Wouldn't that be choking or a hiccup?!
-
Nah MK , don't leave :( .
Wait , loledinmypants got banned ?
-
Here, Zoom. At least post this photo every time "haters" hate.
http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae119/herodadotus/40f744cb.jpg
I'll even put an Aizen head on it if you want.
Does this come in a Bubblehead figure? :ninja:
-
btw, yesterday was the turning point for me: Bleach is now worse than any other series currently in Shonen Jump
-
I should just delete this thread since Bleach sucks so much
-
The discussion here is fun though
-
@Sea:

This. Besides, someone will probably wonder where the thread went and make a new one anyway. All according to Aizen's keikaku of course.
-
I wasn't being serious guys
Except for when I said Bleach sucks, that's fact
-
well looks like i was right with the whole aizen becoming like an angel and ichigo the devil
since i saw someone posted that he isn't supposed to be a butterfly but a seraph and looking that up saw that it was a 6 winged angel of the highest rank or something
but well pathetic chapter, even dragging it out, i can't imagine this taking more than 5 minutes in anime
-
What I noticed about Butterfly characters in famous mangas, they are a tad annoying.
Another butterfly guy who fucking NEEDS TO DIE but refuses to do so.
-
I feel bad for butterflies, Aizen is giving them a bad name.
-
I feel bad for butterflies, Aizen is giving them a bad name.
I feel bad for:
and other seraphim, Aizen is giving them a bad name too. -
Updated reaction shot. Even Pouf hates new Aizen.
!
! -
sad thing is, didn't hte same thing happen in hunter hunter?
i mean supposedly he is finally going to be dead then comes back with wings.
-

I don't recall that happening, but maybe. I just find those two panel proper reaction shots for almost every chapter of Bleach now.
Also, to all you Aizen-haterz out there
-
yea we had that huge explosion of the old guy going kamakaze and the king is BARELY alive, but then goes all vampire and drinks his followers blood or something and then he is reborn with "wings"
-
So how many forms will Aizen-sama have? When will he just become EVERYTHING?
-

too bad that the King is actually a good character
whereas Aizen has about as much original personality as a block of wood
-
Oh my. Wasn't this just marvelous. Kubobobo indeed.
And with the way Kubo seems to be taking with Aizen - or Aizen taking with Kubo, same thing basically - it looks like after a few dozen more deicides, Aizen will finally reach perfection.
What is it going to be?
A clear, spotless white. Perfect nothing.
Just think: when Ichigo finally gets all his destined power ups, when finally he cuts down Aizen, and the latter fades away, suddenly in the white nothingness a voice is heard:
Thus I reach perfection. I am nowhere but I am everywhere. I am nothing but I am everything; even you. All as I have planned.
Forevermore.
And then Jump publishes twenty something more chapters of empty pages with Kubo's name on it.
-
whereas Aizen has about as much original personality as a block of wood
Actually the block of wood still beats the ENTIRE cast of Belch combined… sad but true...
-
too bad that the King is actually a good character
whereas Aizen has about as much original personality as a block of wood
He has more personality in his entire finger than king has in his entire body. Aizen his suave and more stylish than him.
-
I think Aizen is even watching us when we bathe or take a shit. :ninja:
-
too bad that the King is actually a good character
how so? he is just a clueless guy wondering what is point of life basically
hxh has sucked since the ant saga started. and if you can't admit that your just like a narutard that is still living off the greatness of the earlier stuff
-
how so? he is just a clueless guy wondering what is point of life basically
And that is bad because?..
-
And that is bad because?..
not saying its bad, its at least i guess motivation, unlike aizen seems to have.
i would rather see a philosopher walk around going "why?" than have a guy doing stuff for god knows "why"
but its not good, it is about 1 step up from aizen. I woudl take buggy, croc, wb, pain, itachi, ect. over the king anyday. at least they have reasons for what they do, whether its to be pirate king, treasure, revenge, love, ect.
-
The King is someone born to be ruthless and cold-blooded killer, and he finds himself conflicted: should he be a dictator as he was "destined to be" or follow the glimpses of beauty that he notices in the world. He's trying to figure out who exactly he is, and this leads him to making the occasional bad decision. He started out just as generic badass Cell-knockoff, but over the course of the last five volumes or so, he's become an incredibly complex (for manga standards anyway) character, one whose mere existence could shape the world as the HXH citizens know it. What could have just been a simple assassination arc quickly mutated into a wickedly psychological story as opposed to a RUN IN AND KILL EM arc.
Aizen, on the other hand, is a poorly developed bucket full of Deus Ex Machinas. None of his decisions make sense, and as opposed to being a villain who we actually hate for a reason (but perhaps love, at the same time?; like most good villains), he's this inane blob of cliché who has done absolutely to support his motives and allow the readers to see his point of view. He's fucking terrible, and is a shitstain upon modern fiction.
I wouldn't expect Zoom to understand the difference between a good and bad villain though, considering the most difficult book he's ever read at the ripe age of 16 is something along the lines of Harry Potter or The Giver.
