I try. Though I've been around since 2008/2009, but only just joined on the 3rd. And yes, both sides got overly aggressive and made asses of themselves. So that's your argument. Well, people who said Ace was going to die were wrong then, I never saw anyone telling Aka Inu was the one who will kill him. People who predicted WB's death were wrong too, noone said he was going to die from 267 blades wound + 152 bullets + 46 cannonsball.
I gave the reasons why I thought Moria was still alive (ambiguous death for an important character…), I just tried to show Oda could have made him survive, but that were just theories, I'm not Oda. How can I know exactly how he could have made Moria survive.
I'm just curious if the pro-dead supporters will stand by the assertions they made. Namely "If Moria proves to be alive, then it's bad writing" and also "It would make the Gorousei and Doflamingo look pathetic". These aren't actual quotes obviously, they just sum up those sentiments. Quoting them all would take up quite a lot of room.

I wasn't one of those people but I think it all depends on what becomes of this. Why did Oda make Dof fail here? Is there a deeper reason for Moria being alive? Who or what saved him? You can't just call an 'act' bad writing without knowing the 'effect'

Well because it's Oda, he unexpectedly made Doflamingo save face by cementing his attitude toward the government, that in hindsight was obvious if not mislead by his "higher ups" statement as I think many of us were, so it's not that bad. Still makes whoever had those newspapers printed look a fool and is bad in that respect, but otherwise it didn't worsen Doflamingo at least.
Also, until we know how and why he was saved, there's just enough of a shadow of a plot thread with Kaidou to not write it off as a useless character save, so not bad in that regard either and never would have been imo unless he does nothing for the rest of the manga.

Something still feels very weird about the whole thing. If Moria escaped by "vanishing mysteriously" why not show it? Why mislead your readers for x chapters? It makes me wonder if he didn't escape, and Doflamingo simply tucked him away for later use. But then, if that's the case, why not just tell the Gorousei he's dead?

I was suggesting that somebody other than the Gorousei hired Doflamingo to kill Moria so they really shouldn't be blamed for this.

While I can see why you'd think so, I'm assuming right now that whoever gave Doflamingo the order to kill Moria was confident enough in Doflamingo and not expecting a fluke like Moria's "disappearance" and went ahead with the newspaper prior to getting Doflamingo's report but after issuing the order. Basically that Doflamingo is powerful enough they trusted he'd get the job done beyond a shadow of a doubt. A mistake for sure, but as villains in the story they won't look bad to the reader from this, just to the populace of the story should Moria reemerge. Also, Kong's appearance has shown that there's more than Gorousei above Sengoku, so it's not absolute that the Gorousei ordered it, just likely.

That's my thought also, there is just too many mystery with this guy/guys for this to be a regular Gorousei order, for all we know "higher" could just be above Sengoku but not exactly the top of the WG, maybe we're just reading too much into it.

And I'm always open to being wrong. Of course, I haven't been posting here long enough to give examples through quotes. I was wrong about Moria though, but I accepted that he could have survived in order to play a role with Kaidou or some such and that we didn't technically see the body, so while it seemed fitting, the "death" could be undone.
I remember the time when everybody thought Moria was dead. Many for all the wrong reasons, just begging the question.
