I went with ace since hes a great character and weve seen so much of his character fleshed out recently, and if luffy does make it past this round hes guaranteed the win. I like luffy as much as anyone else, but having him steam roll every other character from here on to win again seems kinda boring.

I doubt Luffy has the capacity to steam roll every character. Crocodile, Eneru, Buggy, Mr. 2ā¦ to name a few, can easily hold their own against Luffy, perhaps even beating him.

I like several characters in One Piece, but the most dear to me is Ace (before his death) especially from the time it was announced that he wasn't blood brother of Luffy, because he never was interested in that and always wanted with all his heart to his dear little brother, being he able to sacrifice for him. Give his life for another person is the greatest show of love.
! Moreover, even if he lost against Whitebeard, Blackbeard and Akainu (who were not faint), he behaved like a brave man, willing to come forward and not back away or ever, determined to continue their battle to the end , not to lose the honor and respect for its principles. So he showed that he had a big heart, which was very brave and it was a great pirate.
! And for Luffy him brother was a Hero and a role model as important (or more) as Shanks
! I like Luffy too, but I love Ace.

I voted Luffy, obviously. He's justā¦ Luffy.
Ace was a great character and a wonderful big brother, but he was all that he was BECAUSE of Luffy. In looking at the flashbacks, I strongly felt that the one thing that changed Ace's life for the better in his childhood was Luffy. He knew Sabo before Luffy arrived, but that didn't make him turn for the better--it was the things about Luffy that did that--the same things that we all love.
His determination never to quit once he sets his mind on something:

Ace realizing he was loved partially brought about by Luffy's actions!

Well Ace did pretty good considering he went up against Luffy. I mean its frickin luffy. Who doesn't like luffy? I'm a bit sad considering Ace turned out to be more than an emotionless, hot badass. We got to know a bit more about his past and personality. O well, to bad this match didn't happen after a little more happened in the anime
