@Ryuksgelus:
@7 leaf clover
Moria said he was reckless in the past. How is that any different than Luffy? How is that different than any Shounen protagonist? Since when were these guys Batman?
You are comparing him to Luffy, and Luffy is a dumb (he doesn't think) character, just like Goku. All I was stating is Moria is dumb.
@Josl:
Like I said he wouldn't be fooled but like I said he wouldn't care. The whole body-shadow switch works instantly. One moment here the next gone. It can't be avoided. Flamingo isn't a WG dog. He always does like he pleases. The pacifistas thought he is dead so he went along. It's not like he has a vendetta and he would go running around searching for moria. He likes chaos. When the truth of him surviving comes out than the marines are embraced and he gets a good laugh. This might be a good enough reason for him to overlook his escape. About the whole vaporize think look below.
What I am trying to say is, I believe Doflamingo is a well informed person. He probably knows about Moria's powers. If Moria tried to make his shadow run away or something while they were fighting, he would probably pick up on it. Even if he didn't when Moria does the shadow switch thing, how does his shadow get away? I assume he would use the same move he did on TB, so why wouldn't Doflamingo just follow it? Doflamingo went all the way to Mock island to kill Bellamy but is to lazy to kill Moria? Doflamingo doesn't like weak people, he killed Bellamy for it; why not do the same to Moria?
Maybe you should ask yourself WHY he was in a random back street after the war. Could it be that he is there to meet someone who isn't supposed to be at Marineford like for example Absolom? hmm…
So in your opinion he took a Gear 3 STORM to his face, what are easily like 30 punches or more, and he is unconscious for like 1 minute doesn't make him a tank? Seriously? Look at this page:
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/479/14-15/
He has the speed of gear 2 and the strength of gear 3 which makes those punches much stronger than gear 3 punches becuase more speed equals to more power.
Moria is the most underrated charackter in OP. Not even BB would be conscious after something like that.
He could of been back there, because Doflamingo told he had to tell him something. I mean really who the hell knows why. Why would Absolom be chilling back there? The Marines aren't going to attack him or anything, just like how when BB was chilling his crewmates weren't attacked.
Okay so he took a few gear 3rd shots, Oars Jr. could probably easily do the same. I mean he took a Nuke to the chest from Kuma. Then Doflamingo took his leg off like a knife going through butter. Why couldn't he do the same thing to finish Moria?
This is comic logic. Like for example In the OP world they think that explosions kill people. We know it doesn't. Those are machines. They don't think. They see a body, shoot at him, don't see a body, in their mind he couldn't have escaped so he is vaporized or "teminated".
But this discussion is rather pointless. You think he is more likely dead and I think he most likely lives.
Personally I would like him to be dead. I never liked morias charackter and it would be good for the series if important people could die offscreen. But knowing Morias power, his crew and Odas style I highly doubt it. If I'm right we will see him soon in a coverstory and if we don't see him than he is most likely dead
Hawkins took a laser to the chest from Kizaru and he didn't vaporize. People in OP know that people don't vaporize from getting hit by lasers.
You think Oda won't kill Moria, because he didn't kill people in the past. If you haven't realized this yet, the new age is much darker than the last one. Kid just crucified some people, so go ahead and up the death toll again.
@Zik:
If Kaidou wasn't a yonkou then why get intel on him? You say that example like it's common practice among pirates. When I say challenge I don't mean he's been planning it for weeks. He sees him, he's heard about his name prior, some conflict arises; challenge or maybe Kaidou challenged him? It was surely an epic fight and not some one sided ass whooping.
It doesn't matter who is the attacker in your country example since countries don't go about attacking others without reason and/or without some assurance they can or will win.
Although he didn't plan it what Luffy did was rather smart. He gained the trust of a shichibukai who smuggled him in to ID. He caused mass hysteria in there, broke out prisoners on every level or caused them to, escaped, and then headed in to the war to add to the WB side as he actually managed to free his brother. From the outside looking in you'd either assume he's a genius or a daring fool.
How is not getting intel on people before you attack them smart? All I am stating is that Moria is dumb for attacking a random person without knowing anything about them(yes many pirates do this, but this doesn't make them smart either). Yeah if Moria was surprise attacked than he got screwed.
I don't mean how it all turned out. I simply mean, how is Luffy trying to break into ID a good idea? The concept is stupid, but it worked out for Luffy. It was a dumb idea for him to do in the first place, but he had no other choice and it worked out. Just cause you get some benefit from something, doesn't make a dumb idea any less dumb.
