don't know about that one…
The gorosei or doflamingo might use him still...
as a rug in front of a fireplace.
I know Kuma is more suited for that position but he is obedient and usefull...

What future role could Moria possibly play in the story that isn't horrendously cheesy/redundant?
A cadaver for Chopper to experiement with?
Near the end of the Grandline
Luffy: hah…..hah.....he's strong!
Kaidou: Hahahaha...Strawhat! You still haven't realised the power of the New Wo-...What is that sound?
Unknown:Kishishishishshi
Moria and co swing in, all laughing and high fiving and pantomiming about
Moria: We've got this one Strawhat! You go on to Raftel!
Luffy: k
Moria: Now Absalom, you try and solo his first and second mate, Hogback can take the rest of his crew and Perona will have to deal with the myriad of New World captains under his banner. I'm going to get my revenge for my crew!!! insert 50 page flashback
Moria will obviously completely forgive Luffy for ruining his 10 years plan.

Yup, he'll help Luffy on one condition: "give me your shadow"
if you hadn't already guessed. [] lolz
I love you too Jerk, i'm so glad you remember me… btw didn't you have some other flame to do?
Okay lets simmer down here.

And then he'l reveal the 50 000 Zombies he had below the ground, and the New World gets chaotic
And DoFlamingo first thinks "Why, you little son of a…" and then sees the chaos and laughs hard
He's gonna die, but that'd be kinda cool
Honestly at this point people still expecting Moria to have some sort of relevant role in the story remind me of these mouthbreathing faggots from the Naruto fandom endlessly waiting for HINATA to do something awesome
Sometimes you just have to get the memo and learn to cut your losses

If Moria didn't do anything else, he will be one of the most disapointing character we have seen so far. He was beaten by Luffy without really fighting, he didn't have much screen time in the war, and was killed off-screen.
He is a freaking Schichibukai, and his only purpose would have been hyping Kaidou, Jinbei, Doflamingo and the Gorousei. The fact you compare him to Hinata really showed what a bad writing it would be if he didn't do anything else.

he had more than enough screen time if I'm concerned and he is lame anyway. I see no need for a future role for Moria and he won't come into play when Luffy meets Kaidou just because Moria once mentioned him. It was just to depict Moria's "strength". Moria's role is over and he is dead. A fitting end for One Pieces worst villain ever and done by someone who will be one off the most bad ass villains of the future probably!
don`t forget his beatiful character design and what morals he teached us over the years:happy:
with that in mind I think may post still stands !
terrible character design. . .

Yeah Moria, a character whose full potential in battle we haven't seen. A character whose back story basically mirrors Ace&Luffy's is the same as Hinata? Crocodile is back into the story because of some mysterious past with the now dead WB and Iva but Moria has absolutely nothing to go for him?Cliche vague deaths pointing to said person being alive no longer applies when Moria is involved.
waits for his re-entry in a Bonney arc
But Hinata did do something right?

She was used as a plot device for Naruto to meet his dad and then swiftly fucked off back to anonymity

What are you talking about? Moria's "final move" was Shadow Asgard, and it was terrible. Moria has been defeated every time he was in the story. Kaidou beat him and killed off his crew, Luffy beat him, Jinbei made him look like a bitch, and than Dof had his way with him. Why do you think Moria should come back again? So he can do what exactly?
Crocodile & Moria are nothing alike. Croc's back story is a mystery; Moria's is him getting his ass kicked by Kaidou, so yes maybe we get a flash back when Luffy meets Kaidou of his and Moria's fight. Also how does Moria's back story mirror Ace/Luffy's? They both were defeated by someone stronger than them, or that they had a tragic past; well shit than that means that almost every character mirrors Ace/Luffy's back story.
So wait Bellamy is still alive right? He had a cliché vague death also. Moria even received a newspaper stating that he died. Which still no one has come up with a reason as to why they would do this, if he wasn't really dead.
It's too bad there isn't a reputation system here though bacause there's many a cockmongler I'd like to neg in this thread
Great .

It's not bad writing if Oda didn't do what you would like for him to do.
Just because somebody is a Warlord doesnt make it guaranteed that we'll have several arcs devoting towards that character.
Moria could actually use his shadow clone as a hard-working second personality..
so he could gain a lot of money which he would spend on buying graveyards^^
Great .
Disappointing. Was expecting a Moria smile.

For some reason people think that the Warlords are the best of the best or something.

Croc's backstory is him being defeated by Whitebeard and having a secret that is so bad, he would do everything for you if you promise not to tell it. And again, before he reappeared, we didn't know that he had such a secret. So, the same thing can happen to Moria.

No, but at least, if they died they need a decent death.
For some reason people think that the Warlords are the best of the best or something.
They are one of the 3 powers that are supposed to reign over Grandline, they were hyped since volume 7. They are not the best of the best, but they are even much more important to One Piece story than some new world captain like those Whitebeard bring with him.
So, if one of them was to die, I expect his death to be much cooler than what we had with Moria.
It's too bad there isn't a reputation system here though bacause there's many a cockmongler I'd like to neg in this thread
If you don't like other's opinion, then get the fuck out of this thread, nobody needs you here.
I will ask one thing,
If in some chapters we the readers are shown that Moria is alive, will you inmediatly think it is badwriting before waiting for Oda explaining anything? If yes explain please why.
My bet is Crocodile's an Okama

Something happen to Croc, and then he wanted the ancient weapons to become even more powerful. Croc's past is a complete mystery(he has some relationship with Iva and had one with WB, thats all we know). Moria on the other hand, we know that he fought Kaidou and lost everything. Then Moria went to build up a new crew. What more do you want from Moria's back story(other than a flash back of his fight)?

You act like we have learned nothing since volume 7. The Grandline is divided in two, the first half is run pretty much by the WG & the warlords. The other half(New World) is pretty much run by the Yonkou(as far as we know).
Moria went to the New World and got crushed, yet you think that some how other pirates there won't be stronger than him. Did you miss the whole chapter about the silver metalist? The Yonkou aren't the only strong pirates in the New World. My point to this is, why bring back Moria? Do you think he is stronger than the other silver metalist out there that haven't been caught?
I hate the phrase "bad writing". It's way too casually tossed around on the internet as simply an excuse to complain about something they just don't like, instead of the actual validity of its usage.
Not to mention, vast majority of people who use this phrase don't even know a lick about writing.
I will ask one thing,

Depends on how he brings Moria back. If Moria returns as a puppet for Doflamingo(controlled/dead/personality erased), or as a pacifista (dead/using his dead body) than I would have no problem. If Moria shows up on his own and is not being controlled, than yes I would think it is bad story telling. Moria's usefulness as a character is over, but he could still be useful as a tool. Either way Moria is dead.

I don't care if the silver medalists are stronger than Moria or not. The truth is this guy is part of a group we first heard in volume 7 and will play a role till the end of the manga( Mihawk vs Zoro fight). They are far more relevant to One Piece story than those characters that just appeared, and who will probably be a bit overshadowed by the 3 other Emperors, Black Beard, the revolutionary army.
I don't think one member would be killed that way. That's why I am pratically sure Moria is still alive somewhere.

Well, one of those members who will play a role towards the end and a bunch of copies of another with orders from another group who will also play a role until the end of the story have put a hit on ol' Moria, whose purpose is practially over and looked to be succeeding.
Moria was killed by Doflamingo and Pacifistas.
How is that a bad death for a Warlord.

So your argument is, Moria has to be alive, because he was part of some important group. I remember someone else that was part of one of those important groups, and he is dead. I believe his name was Edward Newgate. Just because you are part of one of the three powers, doesn't mean you have a get out of death free card.
Also Moria was attacked by no less than 4 pacifistas and another warlord, how is this not a good death?
Moria died the way he lived: A punching bag.

he died as an hero

Moria has never lost a single fight ever since he battled with Kaidou and until the sneaky attack from Doflamingo and the army of Pacifistas.
And YES it was a tie with Luffy and NO it wasn't an 1hitKO with Jimbei.

I think having your throat crushed via huge pillar and your lackies needing to drag you off the island isn't a tie.

I think when 2 rivals r both knocked out after their fight it is a tie.And that was the maximum from what Luffy could have got from this battle.

Uh, no. When in one night, you lose every shadow you have, your ace in the hole is crushed, you lose one of your three underlings, and your other two have to save you from a bunch of poeple likely to stab you where you are while your throat is crushed, your island is split in two, and destroyed even further via air nuke, that's not a tie. That's a complete loss.
Plus all Moria had to do was stall for time. He couldn't even do that. He lost plain and simple. Jinbei might not have 1hit ko'd him, but it would have turned out bad for Moria if he had to keep fighting.

U can count it as a loss only if u consider that Moria could have beaten Luffy very easily if he hadn't lost his temper and had fought more wisely like he did with the rest of the SHs who were like toys for him.

Well, as it is, he didn't. And as it is, he lost at Thriller Bark.

He lost all of his shadows and zombies there. That's all that he lost. But the shadows and the zombies come and go.He can find new shadows and bodies anytime he wants too.It will only cost him some work and time.I'm sure Kaidou and Doflamingo can w8 ;)
It took 10 years to gather 1,000 shadows and someone he thought strong enought to inhabit Oars. Nevermind that he's likely dead and TB is split in two.

For me he likely isn't and that means that we will all witness his glorious comeback
