I'm still waiting on the bad-ass looking Pokemon..
Pokemon's Fifth Generation

Is there any info on why there's a version of Darumakka with arms and legs and one without? Or am I just seeing things?
-
i think it was just the quality of the imagine anyway Darumakka looks much better now, kinda cute even, the fish is really cool also and the bunny is strange but looks cute.
Edit: or not.
@Sabonea:
It was mentioned on a blog today that it's arms and legs hide inside it's fur (to make it look more like a daruma doll) as a part of its animation.
-
All fake pictures guys, Emonga(the squirrel) is real but that one was fake since even the color is diferent and the hidaruma pre evo is true also they used it to make it more believable.
Meh i will miss the rock guy.
-
Man the fakes are coming hot and heavy this Gen. At least last time most were pathetic enough that no one was fooled.
-
So . . . . is the flying squirrel and the hidaruma real or not?
-
Their real. Those sprites are not.
-
Oficial site updated with lots of videos and pictures, open one of the video and you will get a gallery

@serebii:
We also have confirmation on the effects of Moguryuu's abilities. First, Sand Throw (すなかき)doubles the Pokémon's speed in a SandStorm and Sand Power (すなのちから ) which boosts the power of Rock, Steel & Ground moves in a sandstorm. Looks like the mole will be overpowered. That Sand Power ability is monstrous.
-
That's unless it has Dugtrio's defences.
-

Can Sandshrew have that ability, like, NOW? He's also got the near useless speed doubling ability. I'm sure its just the usual stab stack that thigns get in this sort of case. Will bring some of those useless 40 attack moves into useable range. Earthquake was the only really reasonable attack ground types had before, and steel moves are largely defensive (except for Iron Tail) or with low accuracy.
And poor thing probably wont actually learn Sandstorm till like, level 50.
And if Weather effects are as manipulatable in this game as some sources tease, then it wont be THAT overpowered.
-
Hopefully so. I shiver when I think of the possibility to encounter a Tyranitar with that ability as it is likely that GameFreak will give it another ability. The special defence boost rock types got in the 4th gen was already quite useful. The idea of creating a sandstorm team is starting to look very tempting now.
-
It was only a matter of time really for the sandstorm speed ability to be added to the game with Swift Swim and Clorophyll already being in the game.
I'm hoping there is going to be a hail one as well.But to be honest the thing could have the stats of Luvdisc or something, so it's too early to call anything yet.
And yeah, Sandslash and Marowak need this move badly.
-

I'm hoping there is going to be a hail one as well.There was ALREADY a speed sandstorm ability. Both Sandshrew and Cacnea had it (making it a grass type immune to sandstorm). Its the POWER boost ability thats new.
But the other element effects will probably get equivilents.
-

If evasion is speed, then yes. Sand Veil boosts your evasion during a sandstorm as Snow Veil does during a hail. That said, the speed ability is a brand new one.

Oh. Yeah. I was thinking evasion. WHich is just not my method. Its good for frustrating human players, but when you spend multiple turns raising evade, then one good hit that DOES land manages to kill you? Eh. Not my sort of strategy.
And Speed is near useless in these games too. Yeah, it might just let you go first, which is okay if you have a powerhouse sweeper, but a 1 point speed superiority is the same as a 200 point speed superiority, it doesn't let you get in say, 3 attacks for every 2 if your way faster.
Unless they've tweaked that too.
-
Yeah I just got confused to which move you were talking about, depends on the amount to be honest, STAB EQ's could hurt I Suppose. Though it's nothing compared to the Hype of Porygon-Z unless it has 100+ base Attack, then again it could be given to something like Tyranitar.
-
Do any of you guys honestly like the designs of these new Pokémon? Seriously?
-
I like a couple of them.
its the same every generation, they look wierd and dumb, then they grow on you and become part of the world.
Especially Wotter in all his akwardness.
-
I like 2/3 of the starters while the Testicular Snowman looks stupid, The Eagle bird is godly however.
-
@THE:

Some of them are fancy, the others are not. Not everyone can like the same things. I, for one, am more excited with this gen than I was with the third and the fourth Gens. And to be honest, beforehand these new pokemons don't look as bad as fourth gen's pokemons did.
-
S peaking of Polygon and it's evolutions, Do you think we'll get a new one?
-
I like 1st, 2nd and a few of 4th.
A little of 3rd… but 5th? I'm just not feeling it.
I'll most likely get Pokémon Black, despite the fact I said I wasn't going to buy another Pokémon game and I don't like most of the new Pokémon in it.
It's not like they LOOK weird and dumb, they just don't look like Pokémon to me.
-
Not even the Steagle?
I actually like the fact that a lot of them look out of place, just in the way that I like Snake in SSBB. The matchups can be quite entertaining, haha.
-
The only ones I like are Hihidaruma, Wooguru, Emonga and I have high hopes for Meguroko's and Kibago's evolutions.
-
I barely have much favorites in each generation. While there's some I like using through the main game, there's always that rare few that stands out to me for a mian team regardless of weaknesses or tiers.
My favorites are Arcanine, Dragonite, Metagross(best organic design), Slaking(I'm lazy), Gengar, Aipom, and Heracross. I'm not really familiar with any Pokemon from Gen 4 though. Aside from Infernape, they don't ring any bells.
-
For me, the first and second are my two favorites. The third gen is okay, yet where it was such a big of change from the later left a bad taste in my mouth. The fourth gen was alright. Not a lot of original designs, more like an expansion to the previous gens. Plus, some of the evolutions never sat well with me (Rhyperior in particular).
So far, this gen, to me at least, is looking original. I like most of the designs (a few here and there I don't like, but what I seen so far I like). I just hope that that starters have awesome evolutions (with excellent typings to boot). Haven't really liked any of the last two generations final evolutions (with the exception of Blaziken).

Wargle, Sarcophoghost, Wotter, Pyroink, and Zekrom are the shit.
You just be hatin'.

No no no, you stupid dumb idiot, Sarcophaghost is obviously this gen's Pikachu. Get it right!
-
Oh! Oh! Oh! You mean, this guy:
I'm sorry, but I haven't been following Pokémon Black & White.
-
Sarcophoghost is the ghost that looks like a Sarcophagus hence the nickname Sarcophoghost. That's smugleaf.
Frankly I'm very happy with 90% of the pokemon so far.
http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon.shtml about 2/3rds of the way down. You know him when you see him.
-

Crap! I wasn't thinking straight. I didn't have my 8 layers this morning.
-
@THE:

I'm liking most of what this gen's putting out.
Gen 4 just seemed like one big "meh" to me.
Crap! I wasn't thinking straight. I didn't have my 8 layers this morning.
He wasn't being serious.
-
From gen 4, I can remember loving Rotom and Empoleon's designs, as well as a few of the extended evolutions (Tangrowth, Dusknoir and Magnezone). Nothing else is coming to mind at the moment, though.
-
One of the only good things Gen 4 did was give Swinub another evolution.
The other extended evolutions were cool, too, but as a whole, Gen 4 was boring.
-
@Badass:
Gen 4 just seemed like one big "meh" to me.
That's how I was at first… until I saw 5th.
He wasn't being serious.
Yes, he was…......
-

I don't think he was either. Either that or both his and our sarcasm detector are totally fucked up.
No I wasn't being serious, KOS.
-
I'm going to be honest. I thought the legends since from Gen 3 and up started looking more like ancient machines from high tech ruins. While the idea is good, it just seemed a bit overused.
-
There are way too many legendaries now. It makes them seem so much less… legendary...
-
I like the pirate fish. He looks pretty cool.
-
@ZeArmyOfHalen:

I know…......

This.
I don't want 20 legendaries a generation.
That's 20 Pokémon I can't use. (Thanks to rules and my hatred of using legendaries)
-
I have high hopes for the crocodile, sarcophagus, pirate fish, and Wargle. If Wargle evolves/something evolves into it I'm definitely using it in place of the starting bird Pokemon like I usually do. I foresee it getting a lot of use among players regardless.
-
@serebii:
A new book coming out on September 10th in Japan, containing articles and interviews about Pokémon Black & White in addition to an introduction of various game elements, is going to include some passwords for the Pokémon Global Link's Dream World which will allow you to transfer and capture a Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle from the Dream World into your Black and/or White games. Like the other Dream World Pokémon, these starters have alternate abilities to normal. We'll provide more details as and when they're out. Click the picture to read up on the Dream World
Nice maybe they can get a Charmander with some ability to make him more usefull against rock types, Charizard has everything to be OU but the typing kills it.

FOR DA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH-GLE!
-
I really hope the sand croc evolves. He, Wotter and Wargle are my favorites this gen so far.
