Waking up with the sound of rain.
or with the sound of various birds.

When my brother reads a whole paragraph of a book to me with hardly any errors.
That is one of the best feelings in the world. -
(Sorry these are hokey no doubt)
meeting my newborn for the "first time"
the smell of a baby's head.
Meiji chocolate
A cool breeze on a summer day
candles during a black out
Crisp autumn days, Halloween decorating, and preparing for trick-or-treaters
finishing a quilt
finishing a thesis paper (48 researched pages with appendixes, references, and accompanying tri-fold board and Powerpoint presentation, DONE!)
graduation ceremonies when loved ones are there to share the moment
a new chapter of OP when the story is a good as it is now.
Sharing OP with people who like it as much as I do
a great new book, a cup of something good, and a throw to snuggle into on a cold day
that shared inside joke that doesn't hurt anyone else, just makes you feel closer to the person who shares it with you.
my kids
when my husband unexpectedly comes home early :wub:Asking a 4 year old big questions and hearing what/how they think.
that little grunting noise little puppies make
the way a kitten's tail is shaped like a triangle and sticks straight out

This is easily one of the very few threads on apforums that I can say I absolutely love. I'll post a list of my favorite little things later on, but for now, I just have to say this is a great thread. Really makes you appreciate life.

When a cat tries to hide and its tail sticks out in plain sight.
Kids at the zoo saying funny things like "I don't think that crocodile is real since its not eating the turtles" (the turtles were much bigger.. ) or other cute/funny things.
Revisiting an old TV/Book/Game series and being filled with nostalgia as its just as good or better than the last time.

As we've heard before;the rain. But even just a cloudy day in general. It's so much cooler, and the subtle light lessened by grey clouds is just relaxing.Makes me feel like thinking back on great times and daydreaming.Believe me though,a rainy day here is a BIG deal,as they're so few and far between here in Arizona…Hope it rains soon, because today it was 113 I think (and still 99 right now at 11pm!),and it's only supposed to get hotter until friday where it drops 3 degrees...woohoo...
-which reminds me of winter;loving being able to be snuggled and warm!^^Also, getting a good idea for a drawing, going through and finishing it,having it actually turning out great and having the satisfaction of knowing I can did and will! (same goes for stories too and especially if someone else loves it too!) I like being on writing sprees too, getting a ton of ideas and inspiration, then satisfyingly reading it again.I love coming up with descriptions and scenes that make you think and being surprised that something I thought of actually impacted my life.Ah,almost forgot;reading back on stuff that I wrote where I told everything that was on my mind and how i felt about everything;I love laughing at the silly stuff, smiling and remembered how I learned from those times,Occasionally being able to say in shock and awe "I really thought that?!?",being able to answer some of my old questions like how something did turn out,and being happy knowing all that's changed and all that's stayed the same and knowing I'll do the same thing in a few years on what's happening now.
- Oh,and meeting up with friends after you haven't seen in a long time and making someone close to you laugh.(aww, how cliche'!) Plus, finding amazingly hilarious quotes or strange wordings, reciting it to many, and still being able to laugh about it a long time after I first heard it. (and like that with my class, remembering the random crap we say and strange humor we find in everything as a group of friends!)
Ah yea, reading an amazing story and finishing it and being able to look back on it and share it with others.(and if possible like with fics, thank the author!) Oh yea!!Going to the bookstore and buying $150 worth of One Piece manga and seeing 6 people behind me with :blink: plainly written on their face when I smugly walk away with a huge bag.(and still seeing money in my wallet afterwards!)Then going home and splurging by reading until sunrise, then still waking up quickly in anticipation of more!(plus dreaming about OP afterwards too!) And I always thought the OP manga paper smells good (so do others but of course OP is my fave)...I always thought pokemon cards (like a big handful of them even with eachother) smelled good too.(this list could go on for a long time...!~)
Oh,and getting something cool in the mail!Letters from friends, packages and gifts, invitations, the works!(even if it is something that I ordered and expected!) Oh yeah, wanting a certain food sooo bad all day, then finally enjoying it to the last bit! (or a drink like a cold glacier freeze blue gatorade after P.E. and an hour bus ride, and oh!Biscuits and Gravy on Wednesday morning!!)Then, especially this one, being able to eat anything that I want and not feeling tortuously sick!! (Im not sure if anyone else here has heard of 'IBS',but it's unbelievably horrible feeling and torturous every time it happens.Look it up if you dare! But luckily I haven't felt too bad for almost a month, having been plagued by it for as long as i remember, and it was especially bad the last few years.)Yay for good health!!

The smell when it has just rained after a long time of sunny weather.
Sitting around a fireplace with a thunderstorm going on outside.
Listening to John Frusciante's album The Empyrean late at night.
Coming home after a sucky day at school and finding out that your mother has made your favourite food.
Going to sleep friday night knowing that you don't have to wake up early the next day.
Walking through the streets on a sunny day listening to Post-Rock. (seriously, this is the best feeling in the world)
The satisfaction when you get a great grade for a test that you've studied long for.
-
When you pour a drink and the ice pops. I love that sound.

Although cleaning my room is a pain, it affords me with the oppertunity to find things that I thought I had previously thought lost to the void known as my room. There is no feeling better than finding a piece of nostalgia in your own backyard.

-Home made food, especially tortillas.

- Walking outside on a sunny summer day with your sunglasses and headphones on, listening to your favourite music and feeling so good you can't help smiling. I believe this counts as the feeling of "being alive", which many other users already listed. This works on a winter day as well, when the sun shines and snow sparkles like thousands of little crystals and the air is cold and extremely fresh. Ahhh.
- Waking up after a sleepover to the sound of your friend's chattering cheerfully and then they notice you're awake and wish you good morning with a grin, making you feel special.

OMGosh how could I forget this: The smell is rice cooking in the rice cooker. Sooo yummy.

@I:
Asking a 4 year old big questions and hearing what/how they think.
Hehe I like that.

I also like babies holding my finger in their tiny little hands.

Hm…

- Visiting someplace new: country or city or hey, even a new store. ^^
- Turning on the overhead fans and then curling up under the covers.
- Candy-striped roses. Most excellent.

Hearing my boss's secretary say "A-cha-cha" when she gets a papercut.
Cooking a really difficult dish and having people tell you it's delicious.
The little neighborhood kids calling your home the "cool house"
Waking up to the sound of rain and getting to go back to sleep.
Warm sheets fresh out of the dryer.
Getting the fresh batch of donuts straight out of the oven. -

Last night made me remember this:
- Sitting on a balcony in a cool summer's night, when it's already dusky but not yet pitch black, and talking with your best friends may it be deep pondering or lulzworthy joking.
-
I love staring into the darkness of the nights, taking a few steps and feeling like I'll fall through the cracks in space that lie beyond light.
That's deep, man
The calm sound of the wind playfully passing by on a warm spring day, as I doodle with a calming anime melody of somesort playing in the background. My best art usually comes through in those conditions
-
When you smile at a stranger and they smile back.
-
realizing that I can just sit downa dn relax and then play some vidya.

Yeah! Also going back and playing games you've forgotten about, especially old SNES titles and such. Nostalgia's a beautiful thing.

Reviving this thread.
Last week at band camp, Florida pulled one of its funky weather moves and went from blazing hot and sunny to SUDDEN DELUGE in an instant. The whole band was out on the blacktop (parking lot of the school) and everyone was soaked. It felt so good to be wet and cool after standing in the sun for so long. We all went inside, dripping and laughing.
And right now, my A/C is set to 76 and I have my bedroom fan on…all wrapped up in jeans, long socks and a hoodie. Makes me think of winter, and Christmas, staying up late and reading...it's a good feeling. -
Coming back home and sleeping in you own bed after sleeping in hotels for over a week and getting off a long flight.
Also, reading comfort books. like the first manga I ever read, Saiyuki <3

Band was definitely one of those little things for me. Just picking up my Euph could make may day a ton better.
It's a shame I had to quit band though.
When you attend the University of North Texas, it's already hard to make the band, when you're a Euphonium it's damn near impossible! Seriously, every Euphonium they have made the state band at some point, and state only takes 2 euphs each year! Sadly I was never quite that good…. -

True.
Managed to get hold of some banging lemon haze from the dam whilst on holiday. Ended up sparking up with the really sound girl I met….
...woke up with her in my arms overlooking the sunrise on the coast the next day still feeling that mellow buzz.
Precious memories indeed.

a smile and hug from my girl.
always the highlight of the day
