The only manga since 2008 that didn't deserve to be cut was Double Arts.
Anything else including Lock On was terrible.

Lock On! seemed like it could have ended after 3 or 4 chapters, in my opinion. It's like at the end of each chapter the progress or whatever you want to call it between Sasuke and Sakura is pushed back or reset completely for the sake of another chapter.

The one shot is rather crude, the Zoo director holds interest for a while because he's so over-the-top, but I didn't care for anyone else, the plot, or heck any of the characters, even the main girl.

In comparison, most pilots are either better (Medaka Box) or up to par (Beelzebub) with the series. Here's hoping this one improves in serial.

Mx0 was by far one of the greatest jump series I read along with Double Arts. Those guys at the editorial department seriously deserve a slap to the face.

They're retards, their expectations are that within a couple of chapters, each serie has to be developed into a bestseller like One Piece without giving the authors the chance to grow.

The first two manga that I was deeply disapponted in getting cancelled. The first was basically cancelled without even getting a chance really and Mx0 got cancelled after they just revealed a new plot device.

Aoi Hana is a normal female high school student, though she is extremely clumsy and thus tagged as good-for-nothing. But Hana wants to change herself and decides that finding a part time job would be taking the first step in that direction. Being an animal lover, Hana's job of dreams is encountering animals day-to-day and taking care of them - the zoo sounds like the perfect place for that. So when she happens to see a job offer from a local animal park it's settled she'll attend a job interview.
When Hana arrives at the zoo everything seems just fine. The "Oumagadoki Zoo" might be going south but altogether it's your regular animal park. Just a very normal zoo, one might think. But that is only until Hana gets to meet the zoo director…

Also, the one-shot pilot can be read here.

The actual series is even better than the one-shot. Great stuff, really hope it'll have staying power.

I really like the director's design (the rabbit guy). A good scarf can go a long way. And he smokes carrots. Nice.

the story and rest of the characters need a little work or some better moments to get me to like it.

the "powers" and fighting didn't really grip me either.

It's different… which makes it interesting to me, but I hope the series is better than the pilot. I'll be checking back to hopefully be impressed.

Oh and I agree about SWOT being sucky

I see people hating on it in passing (which is cool) but I get the impression said people are deliberately avoiding confrontation. Which isn't cool.

I agree with everything you just said. Director is awesome, everything else needs to be refined.

Don't worry, it's been refined. None of the fighting and "this is an army of powerful warriors" stuff from the one-shot is really present in the first chapter.

Most of the recent Weekly Jump issues are scanned by Vicissitude (not Inumaru Dashi, though :(), and there's generally 5 or so different places you can get these raws.

And yeah, ever since Bakuman came out, nothing else new in Jump has really appealed to me. This looks outstanding to me. But I'm just basing this on the new and improved art style, and the one shot.

For Shonen Jump series currently following is One Piece, Bakuman, and hopefully now Oumagadoki Zoo too.

Its really sad that SWOT is scanned faster then Oumagadoki Doubutsuen.
Lets hope we get a scanlation group as soon as possible to scan this manga.

Just read it and it is one of the most most bats**t insane storys i have ever read.
It is enjoyable, but you would have to wonder if it will be good once the novelty of the craziness wears off. But for now i'll read more if realased.
That Giraffe through the elephant scene is beyond words…..

I came back from Japan last week and i read this anime up to chapter 7. I must say that this anime is a very unique and fun to read. The next few chapters are really fun and i have high hopes for the anime. I just with i could find them online.

Without spoiling too much, this anime really picks up as they make visits to the outside world.

but the point is that Oumagadoki Doubutsuen is a manga, not an anime. I won't even say "yet", because sadly new series often fall off rather quick.

but as to the actual topic, I think this is pretty interesting, the director reminds me of Neuro with his abusive ways…
