Anyhow, I do believe that Oda isn't the type to "carelessly" use her character towards that regard as how the other user, Zephos, figured. I'll probably use interviews to try and elaborate concerning this stuff, since it seems needed now.

Perona is a side character who functions entirely on being amusing and cute (though it pains me to think this works). She comes in, does goofy ghost shit, fucks with main characters. And that's all.

Do you think the combat/amusement existence of Mr. 4, Mr. 5, Ms Valentines, Kurobbi, Smack, Pearl, Butchi & Siam, Mohji, Cabaji, Absalom, Satori, Ohm, Shura, Gedatsu, Ms. Christmas, Ms Doublefingers, Ms Goldenweek, Marimo, Chess, Furyoku, Califa, Jyabura, Kumadori, etc.

Do you think these are careless and wasteful in that they were used as little more then amusement and combat?

This is exactly the breed of people Perona belongs to. How is she a waste when these others are not.

Her function is minor and surface. She will be fulfilling her purpose.

I think Hancock and Jinbei will join but only as temporary crewmembers. Jinbei will leave once they get to Fishman island and Hancock will leave if or when Chopper can cure her of her love sickness.

I doubt there is a "cure" for it, or I'm sure the AL doctors would of had it, I mean the went through like a dozen empresses. I figure they would of sent someone to find a cure.

The official reason was "guro with bad intention" or something.

So you're saying that because the character in question is your beloved Perona, that Oda could not possibly use her in such a way? You can't deny that Oda HAS brought characters back before without having any divine purpose in doing so. Like, you know, Fullbody and Jango? They pretty much came back solely for comic relief. That's bullshit. His tone does not mean you can just pretend like his argument isn't valid. Which is that Oda MAY have brought back perona to serve as a comic foil to Zoro. This theory is not completely unfounded, as Oda has brought back characters previously that had little importance (Mr. 1, Mr. 3) and some that were brought back solely for comedic value (Fullbody, Jango).

You're theory however, has no basis whatsoever and is driven by personal bias. Perona was shown to be nothing but a fodder character in TB. She was fodder for both Usopp and Kuma. There is nothing about her that makes her any more special than a character like Mr.1. The only reason you see something there is because you have some insane perpetual hard on for her. I'm a Moria fan, but you don't see me saying that Oda is a shitty writer because Moria did almost nothing during the War.

With this post you have basically come out and said that Perona could not possibly be reintroduced into the story line and not serve some grand purpose, simply because she is Perona. You have finally shown everyone definitively that your theories are based on nothing but pure fan boy-ism. Congrats.

I'm not arguing in favor of Perona joining, but she has the power to cripple almost every pirate crew with her negative ghosts. Most of the Strawhats have a optimistic attitude, so negative ghosts would suck that away and leave them depressed. Usopp is consistently negative when approaching unfamiliar territory, so he's rather used to it.

However, she's extremely bossy and uncaring, not just a sassy, mischievous wench. Nami at least has a kind heart toward the needy. She's just bossy toward the carefree members of the crew, which is every male Strawhat.

As for her standing against the most powerful warriors in the world (Shichibukai, high-ranking Marines, Yonkou and crew), obviously she doesn't stand a chance. She's like a middle-tier destroyer, but not above.

I think Hancock will keep her position as a Shichibukai and keep her island save from the Marines. Jinbei might be travelling for a bit with them, but I cannot see him join the Straw Hats either. Also… no matter how much I'd love to see Perona join, I can't see her join the Straw Hats either. So none of the three according to my opinion, but I could always be wrong.

well new chapter makes me want to go back and edit my previous theory a tad to fit with the current new events such as law and co being gone (though in theory had wrote no idea what they woudl do anyway so not like they change it) but now have to fit in rayliegh somewhere it seems.
