Did anyone catch the name of who voiced child Ace?

From the Raw episode thread:
@goty:Young Ace is voiced by Daisuke Sakaguchi.
-
That episode was really surprising. I wouldn't mind watching again, they actually had Luffy and Jimbei really talking about the past instead of just clip after clip.
-
I really wish it was easier to skip around on FUNi's video player .. I remember most of this stuff so no need to watch it again.
*Ok good, some newer stuff here so I at least only had to skip the first 15 minutes of the episode, I was thinking about just not watching at all if it was all going to be flashbacks of stuff we've already seen.
**or not, more flashback .. Ace vs. BB this time. Finally finished, only parts worth watching were the few minutes (probably more like few seconds) at the start and a few more after the eye catch. Thankfully though it's on to the good stuff!

seastone cuffs stop his powers
No, he was referring to the Alabasta filler with Ace. He was wearing clothes even though his powers allow him to withstand a large amount of heat, thus he doesn't need them.
-
From the Raw episode thread:
Hmmm…that's interesting. They cast a full grown man...but at that rate, I think they'd have done better to just use Furukawa for child Ace...
-
So next episode is another special… and it says its not airing until July 11th.
http://www.fujitv.co.jp/GPplayer/e/GPplayerJMe.html?anime/onepiece/100711onepiece&type=flv
Though this special looks more interesting. :) Looks to be following the Warlords and Admirals before the battle.
-
You know, I'm not a fan of clipshow episodes, but this one was done right. Definitely all the best moments of Blackbeard from the first point of his arrival until the latest fight.
And of course, the Ace Blackbeard fight is one of my favorites, so I didn't mind it taking up 1/3 of the episode.
I wasn't expecting more filler, but if they're gonna do it, this next episode looks more interesting. As Zach calls it, "implied filler" is the best kind of filler there is. And I'm perfectly OK with seeing some things that happen in between arcs here.

Wow. Toei is just really trying to buy time til Marineford. So much blatant padding.
O-chan
-
Hopefully it'll give us a better paced war.
Yeah, I like to inject hope into things.
-
Well, this next clipshow episode will most likely recap all the Warlords' runins with Luffy, and the Admirals as well. And we may see flashbacks like Zoro VS Mihawk, Luffy VS Moria, etc.
I have this feeling we're going to get another recap episode after this one where Buggy, Mr. 3, Crocodile and Mr. 1 all reminisce about the past, lol.
-
While they're at it, let's have Luffy think back to the Strawhats' separation.
-
Or even Enies Lobby, the big-big event that set Luffy down this path with the government (more so than Alabasta, it seems).
-
I know how we all feel about fillers, but I'd rather sit through a month of clipshow episodes with a little entertainment in between and having the best moments of OP flashbacked and then have a much faster paced Marineford arc.
Because there isn't much they can add as far as filler goes until the events after the arc. Sure, they can probably extend some of the side fights, but even with that, it'll only buy them a week or two. And these chapters are much shorter.
Actually, I'd enjoy an Enies Lobby flashback episode, showing the best moments of the fights. Especially the Sanji and Luffy fights.
Anything but an episode dedicated to how they all joined the Straw Hats, like we got in Enies Lobby.

An episode pre-war with Koby and Helmeppo would be nice, too. They're going to play sizable roles coming up so it'd be a way to ease them into the story again. Showing more of Smoker and Tashigi would be nice too. Maybe cutaways to normal citizens, too. Then again, maybe Toei's plan is to synch up with the manga by covering #550 in episode #460?

I would actually like to see something like that. More like the reactions of each one of them and showing how they prepared or something of the sort. I would love to see some of the ways that they train.

Yeah, good idea.
On top of that, I'd like to see the reactions from all the family/friends of the Straw Hats in their villages or something, and maybe Vivi as well.
Maybe they can also show some of the shit going down at Impel Down as well.

Clip shows are the worst kind of filler. This one was especially bad because the preview lied to us. I was promised a rousing adventure of young Ace and Luffy. What I got was a minute or so of contextless memory and then recap, recap, recap. Gee, I wonder why they didn't put that in the preview…
I'm sure the animators need a break sometime, but that's just a dirty trick.

Same thing applies to previews.
-
Haven't since the newest episode yet… it's a clip show you say, hmm. I'll still probably watch it even knowing my time will probably be wasted.
-
Apparently if you live in Canada, you can't watch the videos anymore..anyone know a way around this? Damn Hulu.
-
Why not? Was there an announcement made saying such? If not, then you can contact Funi about that because the Simulcast was intended for ALL of North America, not just the US.

Aye..it's weird..some of the videos are streamed through Hulu, but since I'm in Canada, we can't watch…so stupid.
-
But what about the current ones that aren't hosted on Hulu? Can you see those?
-
Episodes 131 - 132 is up on Funi's One Piece site now. Since there is no new episode this week.
-
thanks for given info
-
I'm going to miss the next few episodes since I'm going out of the country, but that just means a marathon for later.
-
Marathons of One Piece are always good.
-
Are the two latest episodes (four seperate videos with Sub/Dub) not working for anyone else? I keep getting a 'Stream Not Found' error, but any episode before them work just fine.

Same thing is happening to me. Hope this gets fixed by the next new episode.
-
Other than the flashbacks they did everything they possibly could to make Moria look really bad in this episode, he either has a really fat face or a really fat body.
And the way this episode was set up it probably could have easily been called "A Special Retrospective Before Marineford! The Seven Warlords Come Together!" since like 15 minutes was devoted to the Warlords and only 7 to the Admirals.
*and here's the next ep preview

Interesting thing of note. Doflamingo's scene was presented in widescreen, which iirc was Episode 206, meaning there are widescreen masters even further back than 207.
-
hey onepieceofficial has been horribly slow lately. help?
-
Try telling it to go faster. That's what I usually do.
-
lol is there a way of making it go faster or a better website?

Hulu, Funimation, onepiece.viz.com
But those are all next week.

That scene is actually from 207..
-
Oh o_O My memory is hazy then. :p I thought there was some epic conspiracy going on here -_-
-
No, i got confused too, hehe. Had to check it.
But Darkstorm brought up an interesting question regarding HD. -
Having compared the 720p raw scene to the KF version, it doesn't look like an upscale to me.
I don't claim any particular experience with looking at this kind of stuff, so I'd appreciate if others take a gander as well.
Does look like one piece has been hidef since 207 though.

Is Funimation going to start releasing One Piece on Blu-Ray then?
Seems daft just to put out just a downscaled 480p version. -

Seems daft just to put out just a downscaled 480p version.Considering how Toei has yet to put out BluRays of the TV-series, (hell, they haven't even uncropped versions of episodes 207-229) I'd say the chances of us getting them are pretty slim.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they have put out Blu-Rays of some of the movies haven't they?
Might be a step in the right direction.
-
I wonder, are there any options for Canadians to watch the older Simulcast episodes? I didn't even realize they are all eventually moved to Hulu until recently, and it won't let me view them.
It kinda sucks, since I was in the mood to re-watch the Separation episode recently.
-
Not too bad an episode for a recap episode… Hopefully the fillers will end now though.
EDIT: According to the titles, Marineford starts next episode.
-
I know it was a clip show, but I thought that last episode was kind of bad. I like the angle of it, re-introduce the Marine side' and reminds us that many of these characters have indirectly and directly ran into the Straw Hats, but I don't think it was done in a way that was beneficial to the newer viewers of One Piece.
By never, I mean the fans of the series that started around Enies Lobby. They have new clue who Bellamy is, nor what he has to do with the Straw Hat pirates. And this episode gave little to nothing to his story or Don Flamigo's; kind of defeats the point of the clip.
To be honest a lot of the clips where like that.

I see your point. Last episode was done much better than this one. To a fan like us who've seen from episode 1, callbacks like this are nice. But a newbie would be totally lost.

I'm sorry if this is this is the wrong question to ask on this thread (I didn't know where else to ask though), but does anyone know when Funimation is suppose to start simulcasting Sengoku Basara 2?
It's already premiered in Japan yesterday and I'm really confused why it's not up on Funi's video site yet ;___; -
There is suppose to be a new opening with the upcoming episode right?
