ok, the hype has worn off.
Sorry, gotta be a bit of a naysayer. But I need to see the 3DS running before I plop down part of a paycheck on it.

Ok this is why the Kinect will fail.
I can see this happening in every household that has one.
Um….they have? Nintendo said they were showing How To Train Your Dragon and Rapunzel (or Twisted or whatever it's called.) movies on the 3DS
I mean like in movie theatres and in your house.
Anyway, on that Microsoft video here's a comment that made me facepalm.
@LoLCatLexington:
I'd just like to say, they've done better than you think, they have took the most popular wii games and put them on a different platform for use with Kinect so they have taken the games and made them playable using a system that will make the games far more enjoyable because they are played using far more sophisticated technology, where the gameplay experience is enhanced by far. That's awesome if you like Wii Sports, Mario Kart etc.
Although some of the Kinect stuff looks pretty cool, like that Star Wars game running on it matching your body movement.
Most popular Wii titles….
I didn't know Microsoft had the rights to Mario/Zelda/Mario Kart....well according to that post they do but XD

Dude…
THIS is all I need.

I need to not get a headache after playing it for half an hour, THAT's the goal.
Portal 2. That is all.
Yeah, I want Portal 2 as well, though I'm getting it for the PC. I know that it takes place in the HL universe and I hope they add more clarification of that.

I think a Kinect version of this is a bigger deal:

That block-breaking yoga game is comedy gold waiting to happen. :P

Instead of of throwing the Wii-Mote at the screen they throw themselves?
DO WANT!
Dunno if you guys saw this already but the customization if fucking awesome.

Oh yea, I can see it now.
"News at 6, local 5 year old throws himself through TV while playing Kinect"
The News is going to be good again!
Btw where was the so called PSP2???? Does this mean Sony is calling it quits?
I imagine if they weren't already they'll be rushing it out for TGS now.
3DS was pretty much far above what sony had to be expecting, game wise and tech wise. They can't afford to let nintendo get an insurmountable lead for another generation.
I need to not get a headache after playing it for half an hour, THAT's the goal.
Then you'll be happy to know you have the handy option to turn off the 3D :)
I suppose it just depends. I've put games in my Wii, packed the Wii up and then transported them across the country and then played the game with no problem.
The thing is, the 360 only scratches the disk when it's on. I've moved my 360 around with a disk off when the console was OFF and nothing happened.
So.. today is just the gamefloor? no more news?
Goldeneye has 1 change to it

As for sony..hope the game upcoming are good enough so i can get a PS3
I don't know if this has been mentioned in the last 20 pages, but the biggest potential problem I see with the 3DS is if it won't stop. I mean, I would hope it would stop working when you kill the power to it, but when you just close it like you do on the DS, it's still going to be killing battery power looking for stuff. And they still refuse to make batteries an option. It would suck to recharge the thing anywhere outside my house.:getlost:

Wasn't the DS's batteries integrated? Isn't a mingle mode (of most celphones) is two days? It is trully imposible to turn off the mode? I remember my gbc on 2AA, or the rechargeable monster lasted like 20 hours. I'm guessing that the ds has the ability to last as much, and the 3ds is aiming for that goal.
i believe they said the battery life is similar to the DSi
as for the sleep mode and searching crap, i know for the ds if i shut my ds with a game in it still on it can last a couple days easy without dying.

Wait, 5 maps? So we buy the game again for less content?
how many did goldeneye have?
i know golden eye is the love child, but personally i preferred perfect dark for 64 better. better graphics, better control, same maps + many more maps, new weapons and so on.
only thing it didn't have was as cool characters

That's got to be a lie, or just what's avilable in the demo. There's a demo?
how many did goldeneye have?
At least double.

Check the XBLA.

Really? Last I heard (ign.com), the 3DS is suppose to have the battery life of the DSi XL, which is better than the DSi's.
I hope that's true.

oh sorry dsi xl then. just heard dsi, didn't pay attention to end.
and wow would have thought dsi would have better than xl battery life.
but either way dsi has decent battery life anyway, not as good as ds lite, but all better than psp right
Dunno if you guys saw this already but the customization if fucking awesome.
Problem is the game's $50 and has a fucking subscription fee. And from what I heard, the game's not all that great, according to people in the beta.
Looking at the the DS games
http://e3.nintendo.com/ds/
FF looks like a fun game..but i got mixed opinions about the point attack system..and the job system is still something im getting used to in FFIII.
Pokemon ranger :guardian signs looks like another awesome addition to the ranger series( Ukulele Pichu :D)
Golden Sun:Dark dawn looks fun with its new puzzles, but i am a little sad they took out the creature abilities.
only other games i like is Professor layton and the DQIX games
Oh yeah, Golden Sun. I still haven't beaten the original . Dark Dawn looks fantastic, the double screen summons blew me away. Is there an over reaching story of those games or are they all separate?
I really can't wait for Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. I kinda wish my old games weren't stolen…
@Kairouseki:

Hahah, same here. I remember fighting the Kraken as the last boss I encountered, and I forget where I left off… hmm.
I hope I can at least get this game without ruining the story from previous games, but that seems unlikely.
I think it's still in my DS. I'm in the middle of the giant optional mission. Though before I lost my original cartridge I couldn't beat the dragon formed by the girl and the guy fusing. That was at least 8 years ago though.

Definitely over reaching. It's fairly accurate to say the two games represent two halves of one big story.
THQ have confirmed Darksiders 2 is underway. Nothing to show for it though.
I got a little surprise from Bungie, Reach will include Firefight from ODST now with matchmaking, customizable skulls and customizable enemy A.I. traits as well as changing custom sets/waves and obviously player traits as well.
It is now a fact (srsly) that Halo: Reach will offer some of the most features, options and customization in any FPS this gen.
Definitely over reaching. It's fairly accurate to say the two games represent two halves of one big story.
didn't they say that the first two games were essentially the prologue of the game series? Or something to that extent?
Now I want Pokemon Black & White to be released on the 3DS instead…
thought the penny arcade was pretty funny
didn't they say that the first two games were essentially the prologue of the game series? Or something to that extent?
Yeah, I remember way back the Takahashi brothers mentioning that they wanted the Golden Sun series to be a springboard for something bigger.
Speaking of Dark Dawn, I'm pretty impressed with how it looks so far. I think they did a good job translating the GBA graphics to 3D. The new train Mercury summon looks awesome, and I was also amused at how one of the demo videos had the protagonist burning up a badly-drawn poster of Saturos from the first game.
And speaking of Saturos, his awesome battle theme needs to be in this new game somewhere.
you know i keep reading nintendo talking about luigi's mansion in 3d and the more i think about it the more it just seems amazing
i mean the ghosts would just seem SO REAL being in 3d like that.
Today is a sad day. Last Day of E3 and I will get my hands on the 3DS as I will spend my time in that line haha.
damn you are so lucky, i can't wait until they toss up some kiasks or whatever you would call them for handhelds in stores around the coutnry so that people can start to see the 3DS for real
I mean really, that seems like the only real way to advertise this.
Word of mouth will get people salivating to "SEE" it for themselves, but word of mouth isnt' enough to get everyone to buy one. Just like word of mouth made everyone want to try out the wii and then once tried went and bought one
Well yea but the 3DS is still not done. We might get more news at TGS this September.
It's still not done?
Could you perhaps explain?
Been hearing that its still doesn't haven't a defenite model. But I could be wrong.

Put that in spoiler tags.

Like that E3 DS with the black borders from years back.
i have seen interviews with miyomotto or iwata and others saying that this is pretty much it, and won't be doing any big change like the ds prototype saw when it was released.
I think the 3DS is going to have a different look.
The 3DS at E3 (from what I saw) looks like a DS with a bottem screen that's fifty times wider. It looks a bit unattractive.
If anything, I think their final job is making it look nicer.
yea maybe some touch up asthetically, but pretty much just expect a dslite with a slider(analog stick) a bigger top screen and some cameras
its like same size, weight, same overall design
