I'd go for a shiny ponyta if you're willing to part with it. Or maybe some hard-to-find or expensive TMs. My dex is at about 480 and I have all the starters.
Which TMs are you looking for?
Because I have quite alot of those.

Stone Edge, mostly, Although I'll always take Ice Beam or Fire Blast.
My wireless internet is pretty ****ed right now, though. I'm using a wired connection to my laptop atm. If we trade it'll probably be on Monday at the earliest.

I don't have Stone Edge and I used Ice Beam,so that leaves Fire Blast that I could buy. But I found someone who needs a Cyndaquil so I'll trade that for their Piplup. Thanks anyway though!
lol I have been doing just that. Walked over 15,000 steps and used the entire of my watts. Nothing but Horsea and Chinchou. Thanks anyways tho =3 I'll get it sometime today! And now for another walk.
You might have the alternate in the rare pile then, the stupid octopuses. They're MUCH rarer, only like 5%. Next time you give it a shot, trade out your critter and thus leave the course, and that'll re-randomize what's in there.
There's also pokeathelon
I've been cursing the pokeatholon dome. For some reason I can't beat the record for the Penant Flag, that's the last thing I need left. Anyone has any tips for pokemon in that particular challenge?
I now have 7 out of the 8 gym badges in Johto. Instead of going straight to Blackthorn City and battling Clair, I'm gonna take some time to level up my Pokemon.
Here's my current team (Now a complete 6):
Typhlosion Lv. 36 (Fire Blast/Lava Plume/Cut/Flame Wheel)
Ampharos Lv. 35 (Charge Beam/Strength/Discharge/Thunder)
Quagsire Lv. 29(Surf/Rock Smash/Slam/Mud Bomb)
Noctowl Lv.30 (Fly/Roost/Shadow Ball/Hyper Beam)
Jumpluff Lv.27 (SolarBeam/Synthesis/Bullet Seed/Headbutt)
Swinub Lv.23 (Powder Snow/Mud-Slap/Endure/Mud Bomb)
I'm planning to play the rest of the game with this team. It's the first 5 pokemon I had and a Swinub (A Sudowoodo held the place for the Swinub I was planning on catching). Should be interesting, shouldn't it?
Can you advise something better? Shellder is currently my Water/Ice poke atm (I'm up to Claire atm.)
This will sound nuts to some, but believe it or not, Tentacruel is a VERY underestimated Pokemon. It's decently speedy. It can take Sp. Attacks and has quite a few type resistances. It can also dish out damage.
@Cyan:
Kingdra can't be killed by anything by that point in the game.
Except Clair and Lance's Pokemon. Kingdra still carries that Dragon weakness.
Roby gave me a good idea about making the fights against the Kanto gym leaders more of a challenge by switching my team to some Pokemon I barely use, and ones I brought over from Sapphire. Sabrina was incredibly easy because of my Umbreon and Absol, and I didn't want the rest of them to be like that.
I'll have to go back to Johto to level up, since my current team is pretty weak:
Pelipper (27)
Girafarig (25)
Furret (26)
Roselia (13)
Vulpix (26)
Swellow (35)
I've also been using my Pokewalker a lot, going on walks with my Smoochum.
Will the Pokemon I put in the pokewalker level up in there? I put my Swinub in because he was a littleweak compared to the rest of my team.
Yes, but he can only level up once per stroll.
Yes, but he can only level up once per stroll.
Oh, okay thanks.
Will I be able to tell if he's leveled up while in the Poke Walker?
@Badass:

…I'm not sure, actually. I just take the walker whenever I go running, and whatever's in there always levels up.
Completely sweeped Surge with a little help from Machoke and Earthquake.
I was going "Gurarararara!" the whole time.

Another method which I do is turn my game on Set Mode. Find out how many pokemon they use and put the rest of my team in storage to equal how many they have. (so Sabrina is 3vs3)
Makes it much more of a pain in the ass with the levels of pokemon on my team.
Took the Pokewalker out for a walk for the first time today with my Larvitar. Got around 370 watts out of my usual route.
Also did some of the Gym Leader rematches, and Whitney's Miltank is still a bitch. Between improbably high speed, Attract, Rest, and Body Slam always paralyzing…
Just need to take care of Blaine and Green and I'm done with Kanto leaders.
So I've learned that when a pokemon levels up by means of pokewalker, the number is the only thing that changes. It's HP limit doesn't increase and it wouldn't learn attacks that it would learn by normal leveling up.
Decided to level up my Swinub the Old Fashioned way.
Got to Green/Blue (whichever you choose to call him).
Apparently, he is the developers' way of saying, "Sorry if Kanto was too easy for you so our apology is Green/Blue".
That and his gym with the fucking Trick Room trainers kept pissing me off.
I'm currently leveling up my Girafarig so I can fight Janine. He's still at level 36, so it's going to take awhile before that can happen.

I always viewed Green as the "You thought Sabrina with her fucking death ray of an Espeon or Brock with his tank of an Omastar was tough? Get a load of this!" Gym Leader.
I hate battling online!
The thought of having a lost on my record makes my heart jump like crazy!!!
I had a dream this was remade on the consoles. 3D graphics, and attacks that actually looked cool(take Stadium improved). You also have the option to control fly and have air battles. Wild pokemon could also attack in mobs thus negating the one pokemon per battle rule…
That was some tasty milk. Too bad I woke up.
So, I haven't watched the anime since season 1 and wasn't sure if I should post here or in the other thread, but does Ash ever become a semi-competent trainer or does he still just go 'Lol @ your fire type GO GRASS pokemon.'

Yeah, Ash is an okay trainer now (barring the whole thunder armor debacle). But that's all he focuses on. Training. Training. Training. He doesn't even seem to have a personality anymore. He's just there to be there. Part of the reason I stopped watching it was because Ash didn't have that personality he add in the beginning.
Yeah, Ash is pretty competant now. The token new girl of the season gets the role of newbie that doesn't know anything at this point, while Ash is the experianced trainer that knows what hes doing. He doesn't even need to check his dex to recognize critters anymore,he just actually knows what they are.
I'm impressed with Ash's certain team. I'll give him that.
But, he NEEDS to stop getting rid of his fucking Pokémon.
Gliscor… and I'll add Ambipom to be an asshole.
He's like the kinder version of Shinji. (The rival in the DP anime)
Yeah I heard he got rid of Gliscor and I was like WTF, ASH-HOLE..
Atleast he still has his godly Pokemon with Oak (besides Charizard, which he CAN call at any battle he wants… right?)
I'd like to see Ash with a Fighting, Psychic or Dark Pokemon.. When's the last time he had one of those? I was gonna say Dragon but he does have a Gible.. which, we all know, most likely won't evolve (like his Larvitar.. wtf)
or he just might get rid of it…
I KNOW YOU'RE A FUCKING AWESOME POKEMON GIBLE BUT I MUST LEAVE YOU WE SHALL MEET ANOTHER DAY FAREWELL starts crying waving goodbye puts his head down and starts crying again with the shadow of his hat blocking the view of his forehead
I'm still amazed Ash didn't end up with a Riolo. I mean, really. Give how much they pushed the damn thing and how the 8th movie set Ash up to be like… destined to be a Lucario trainer.

Ash is not a competent trainer. He got stomped in that battle against Paul/Shinji. That was just horrible on Ash's part. Like no real strategy at all.
It was like a hardcore competitive player fighting some noobie casual.
Ash's battle tactics sometimes is really inconsistent though… There are times where he takes stupid loses to create a "I need to improve" subplot for an episode.

You mean he lost to his token rival character of the season? The guy who has to have a superiority complex over Ash for the duration of the arc, so that Ash can finally overcome him during the league finals and teach him that Ash's way of training is better?
Of course he fought stupid against his rival for the year. The plot demands he lose 8 or 9 times to that guy.
He's also using shitty starter critters he's had for like three weeks.
But none of these things undo his track record, like him being the only one to beat all 7 frontier brains, fair and square winning a couple dozen badges, top 16 a couple times at the pokemon league, constant dealing with legendaries, etc. He's at his most competent at the end of an arc with his fully built evolved team, until then, he's going to get hosed. He's STILL in the mentor role compared to token new girl of the season that has no idea what a pokedex is or what anything is or what anything can do.
I mean hell, his pikachu hits level 99 and is able to fight legendary critters, and then rolls back over to level 1 again at the start of every season for the sake of the plot and starts losing to random shmuck new critters to hype the new region. Same reason he Oaks everything now. Because it would be incredibly boring if Ash started a season with his full power team and just hosed everything. that was the big lesson the writers learned in Johto.
Well he just catches weak Pokemon and train them by fighting how it is supposed in the game (no strange virus or the experience share thing).
When I'd live in PKMN world and catch a Pokemon I want to train I have to give a strong one to Oak or the PC system (does that even exist in the anime?).
Though I wouldn't let go something like Charizard -.-
At least Charizard comes back to take on the Legendary/real big mutha of the season (heck, it fought Entei to a standstill if I recall can even defeated Articuno). Can't say the same for the likes of Pidgeot, Squirtle, or Heracross.
Heck, that's what I liked about Ash's battle with Gary in the Johto League, since even though Charizard stole the show, he used a bunch of Pokemon that he hadn't used in a while, like Tauros and Muk.
I can understand losing too his rival a couple of times over and over but that battle was just bad on Ash's part.
You're right, his track record is impressive, which made that battle all the more worse. All his wins, symbols and badges he should be on equal terms/greater than Reggie and Paul in knowledge. However that battle between the two shows how ignorant he is. He had no real strategy. It was like he was completely unaware of his Pokemon abilities. When one finally kicked in, it worked against him. There was also no actual teamwork between his 6 Pokemon. Paul using Light Screen and then switching Pokemon, what was Ash doing? Rushing straight into attacking. I understand he's using some new non-evolved Pokemon, so shouldn't he be trying more indirect methods to beat his opponent instead of trying to overpower them? Hell, in the video game, if I'm going to fight an opponent with pokemon ~10 levels higher than me, its either make mine equal strength or fight using indirect methods such as Paralysis, Sleep, Confusing, etc. He lost 6-2, barely knocking out 2.
I'm just angry with the anime in general like a lot of people. One of the reasons they try to adapt to the games too much. (Seriously, I only see like 4 different moves per pokemon a battle now. I know Pikachu knew more moves back then) That and they needed to just drop Ash in general and put a new protagonist each region.

Actually his Squirtle and Bulbasaur beat that Frontier Brain,Brandon I believe, how the fuck that they haven't evolved yet is beyond me,but their strong unlike things he never uses. Like Butterfree that he let loose to go breed.
And whats with Brock's Team? He was a Rock trainer and now his team is inconsistent crap…
@robbybedfart:

That is true… but isn't Pokémon movies non-canon?
Then again, I swore I thought there was a special about Riolu in the Diamond/Pearl anime with a little dose of Movie 8.
Like Butterfree that he let loose to go breed.
and die. :ninja:

Wait, Ash beat Regi/rock/steel/ce with goddamn unevolved starters?
That Butterfree went to breed with a shiny one. That fucker ain't coming back anytime soon.
He makes it a rule to have at least one Rock-type and one Poison-type (Why he didn't just stick with the Crobat is beyond me) on his team.
@KingofSarus:
That is true… but isn't Pokémon movies non-canon?
The first one plus Mewtwo's Revenge are the only one's that are canon, if I recall.
Yeah, that's what I thought…
Maybe it was just the dub, but I do remember Ash making a reference to the second movie during Johto (I saw one (Lugia) in the Orange Islands once).
how the fuck that they haven't evolved yet is beyond me,but their strong unlike things he never uses.
They both had opportunities to evolve early on and they chose not to, preferring the way they are. (Cute and marketable) Same as Pikachu. They'll keep those forms forever. (May, using the exact same critters, has pretty much fully evolved them.)
And whats with Brock's Team? He was a Rock trainer and now his team is inconsistent crap…
His home gym fused with a water gym when his mother came back from the dead, so he's not constrained to a singular theme anymore. He tends to keep one rock and one poison tho.
That is true… but isn't Pokémon movies non-canon?
The movies tend to not get referenced any, but only as much as previous episodes don't get referenced but they all fit the timeline. You can generally tell when they take place by what critters are in the group at the time. And Ash will sometimes comment on a legendary if he's seen it both in movie and in show. (And the movies themselves DO have a continuity.)
And one episode did have aura seeking riolu, and another referenced Aura and the ancient kingdom and stuff from part 8. It was a popular element that they're trying to fit in without actually making the series cool.
@Cyan:
Wait, Ash beat Regi/rock/steel/ce with goddamn unevolved starters?
Level 100 unevolved starters, though.

I was going to mention that… but I was like, nah, dubs sometimes add unnecessary shit...
Which they probably did with the Butterfree thing.
But, I thought the PokéDex did say he dies after mating in the Japanese version...

Fan made myth to make it seem like its cooler and more adult in the Japanese, to help alleviate the fact that we're watching a children's cartoon aimed at 5 year olds.
Jesus Christ. Sabrina needs to die.
Fuck her and her Espeon.

Just take a dark type in, with a dark move. They slaughter psychics. Not only are they immune to the attacks, they do double damage. (Its why dark was created to begin with, to balance psychics out.)

I don't know about that.
I beat the shit outta those lovely ladies when I played my HeartGold.

Oh yeah, also use Fighting types…
Nah, I'm kidding. Bug and Ghost works too.
