9:30 am I believe on a Sunday…which I agree absolutely sucks. Who the fuck is in the mood for an epic series early in the morning? They treat the series just as something for the kids and by solely focusing on one demographic, they lose money. Dumbasses.

Well it's stil not as bad as if they put a series you wanna watch on like 6:15 on a Sunday . It's fucking Sunday , I wanna sleep -_-

Sorry to burst your bubble, but in Japan One Piece is a series for kids. I know I know, it has violence, blood and boobs, but Japan has different standards than America or Europe. In America and Europe many people think "OMG ONE PIECE THEY FIGHT AND THERE'S BLOOD AND FANSERVICE" and automatically say it's not a kids show. But in Japan it is. Have you ever watched Japanese commercials? I saw a Naruto commercial with little kids with headbands and they jumped around. I saw a Dragonball Z commercial that presents eyedrops for kids.
In Japan those are all "kids shows" so those shows air Sunday morning.

I for one knew that , and I find the airing a little better then what it could get slated at here . Around here kids shows get shown like from 6-9 AM , max in the mornings . It used to be a pain when I stil regularly watched em .
! Also on the topic of "kid show" , as you said opinions what is and what is not a kid show varies in Japan and America . Especialy in america , most shows for kids tend to have little if any depth , and are made prety unbelieavable with no deaths , nobody smoking , drinking etc. Most of the shows of the "saturday morning" genre were either rather bland TMNT knockoffs with varying decrees of sucess (I actualy love Biker Mice from Mars , for example) , the rankin bass esque "moraly conscious adventure" (Thundercats , Silverhawks etc.) or a "quest" show . But unlike stuff comming from Japan (not saying all mind you , I know that this aplies to just a percentage but stil) , american shows of this type usualy fail to have a progressing plot , partialy due to the fact that executives tend to think kids are to stupid to actualy handle a multi parter to often , or a longer runing storyline for that matter . Now "Quest shows" suffer imensely because lots of american and european teams do not at all know how to make a progressing storyline .
! Take Samurai Jack for example . The story is about "finding a way back to the past" yer every episode is prety much just a huge cocktease , and is self contained . Heck some episodes don't even resolve why Jack wasn't able to go back (Jumping episode comes to mind) .It's these simplifications , more or less enforced by adults that make adults view kids shows with contempt .

Meh. I like my episodic formula thank you.

I know what their primary demographic is. I'm just saying if they try to reach out to the rest of the age groups, they'd make a much bigger profit instead of trying to squeeze out money just from the kiddies.

The only people that care about quality of animation and how it changes between animation teams are the people capable of reading this sentence in their native tongue.
Japanese children don't tune in and say, "WHAT THE SHIT IS THIS!!!??? HIROHITO FUKYUBUDDY'S ANIMATION STYLE IS HORRIFIC!"
They say, "Woah! Luffy is strong! And Buggy is funny! Hee hee."
The morning slot for OP is friggin' absurd. AB-FREAKING-SURD. It completely drains any fun from the viewing. I'd like 6 minutes alone with the exec that made that choice.
If OP was still paired with Maruko and Sazae it would be breaking all sorts of records with the momentum it has now.
BUT NOOOOO! 'SPORTS JUNK' IS JUST WAY TOO FUCKING INTERESTING.
I love this post.So FRIGGIN MUCH.

@ Hiroy : Oh it's not that I find it bad , it's just so many use and over use this format in america and generaly suck or don't even atempt the other one .

This reminded me of that American-made commercial with some 7-year-old Sasuke cosplayer and the Zabuza Sword….
...And then I cried.

OP was #2 again last week (13.5), beating the now #3 anime Chibi Maruko-chan (11.5) for the 2nd week in a row.
Maybe it wouldn't be far fetched to think that Fuji could pull the series back to Sunday nights…but with all the promotion the Dream 9 segment got, i doubt it. After Kai finishes, sometime next year, who knows what's gonna happen. -
Heh, a really bad episode pulled a 13.5!!! Nah, honestly that episode was pretty okay except for the dragging bits. I can't wait to see what kinda ratings the war is gonna bring. Man imagine if One Piece had its old time slot, what kinda killing it would have made.
-
On (or At? My englisch is horrible!) which time did One Piece air in the past?
-
Bullshit, fucking bullshit
just when will the ratings go down to make them realize their shitty episodes :getlost: but whatever, I guess very few people care about the quality of the animation and the art, and the pacing.

Yeah, what a bunch of fucktards. Who gives a shit about 'story' or 'love for a series'? Bunch of dumb hicks if you ask me!

The show is made weekly on peanuts, people. It's going to look like crap on occasion. This is a statement based on facts. Whee?
That said, oddly enough, the people watching the show legally and who make money for Toei and Fuji seem to like the product. Hmmm…must be all that too busy having a life to care that's been going around lately.

That doesn't matter one bit, anyway. People tuning in won't know how good or bad the episode is until after they've seen it.

I would so love for this to be true.
But I say it's near-impossible.
A Fuji TV exec (who I can't quote because I don't care THAT much about being precise) said since variety programming is more popular, they'd put more strength in the variety programming schedule.
The only reason Sazae-san hasn't been replaced with grown men in women's clothing slipping down a slide covered in lotion is because it's Sazae-san.
The series that many Japanese people say 'ends the weekend'.
-
When Kai ends, I wonder what they'll put in its place?
-
Knowing the Japanese it will be something-horrible-I'm-sure .
