And for those that are interested, Snocone's old post.[hide]So, with the ever-growing Heart Gold and Soul Silver thread, I can see there are a lot of pokemon fans here. I haven't really kept up with the games. I haven't picked up a Pokemon game since I stopped playing Diamond/Pearl about 5 or 6 months after they were released.
After all this time, there has been news of a 5th generation.
(However, I'm sure many here know about this already. If this thread is useless, feel free to merge it with whatever you like)
Apparently the first revealed Pokemon of the fifth Generation is named Zoroark.

From the picture, it seems like it has an evolved form.
Zoroark is also the star of the 13th pokemon move: Phantom Ruler Zoroark.

I'm actually considering getting the new game. It would be a big nostalgia rush for me. (I'm young, so 4 years is a long time)
So, with this, what are your expectations for this 5th generation? What do you think of this preview of the new Pokemon?

Looks promising to me.

EDIT: Oh, also another website lists the release date as TBA 2011. And I was hoping it'd come out this year.[/hide]

They need a Tyrannosaurus Pokemon badly. I too don't know what they're going to do with the legendaries and the villains. Don't know how they plan on topping God and remaking all of Creation.

This'll probably be the last generation I play, so I'm all for it being an excellent one.

Also, I found this and got excited. Turns out it's a fake, but a damn good one. I would've wanted the fire starter if this was real.

I've always wanted a pre/evolution for Lapras for some reason.

I hope for the fifth generation they have a lot of fire types… I've been dying for a generation that had lots of fire types. I don't want anymore generic water types that are just clones of the others. Take more risks! As in a fire/water type! Or a fire/psychic! Or a Grass/dragon! Or... well you get it...

Also, the fire starter better not turn out to be a fire/fighting... I'm sick of it...

I can't see a "Lion" Pokémon be a "Darkness", although, when I first saw Luxray, I thought of it as a Electric/Dark type.

Yea but there were alot of Fire types in the previous generations so I have the feeling they decided to tone it down a bit and focus one some other typed for a change.

Indeed, was wondering when someone'd get round to creating a thread. Hmm, I'm excited. Some might say Pokemon's jumped the shark long ago,
but it's sorta jumping the shark that's made it great .. if you get me o_O (though i think G&s were the best, which is why I'm eagerly anticipating HG&SS!)

But I'm still wondering what they're gonna keeping calling the new games. You'd think they'd run out of Colours/Stones

But, for this Generation's remake, I can see "TerraRuby" and "MarineSapphire".

I really don't want to see a R/S remake to be honest…
I'd love to see them "pimp out" the Secret Bases though. :D

Spiritomb. Pne of the best pokemon in the game. Literally has no weakness because of its Ghost/Dark type.

I think it would be cool for the games if one started with Team Rocket actually being bad asses and having control of the world, and having outlawed pokemon training. Then our character starts out on a journey to over through them. He trains in the underground at night away from prying eyes. Battlesthe old gym leaders and elite 4 members in secret to become more powerful. Finally when he's strong enough he makes his move to take down team rocket. Except it won't be easy, all of Giovanis' pokemon are level 65 and above.

That would be insane in my opinion. It would add that darkness to the game that Sarus wanted.
Plus they coud remodel the pokemon. Mewtwo can be missing an arm and half of his tail; Pikachu can have an eye patch, be smoking a cigar and have a beard; etc.

I'd also like to see a version that connects all four regions and has an "Ultimate Elite four" with the 3 champions and Red as the ones you have to beat. That would also be cool.

47 Bug Pokémon

That's ALOT of Pokémon.

33 Fire Pokémon
25 Fighting Pokémon
22 Ice Pokémon

That's a few (rare) Pokémon…
These are the "new" types.
25 Dark Pokémon
26 Steel Pokémon

Of course, they'll have a few.

I'm not trying to say that it won't happen, but I think Eevee's evolution is based on "Special" elements.

Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon and Glaceon.

The only one left is "Dragon-type"

Same. Steel's always been my favorite type. I am a total whore for Steel, I'll admit.

I'm also hoping for some kind of Pokemon Stadium/Battle Revolution kinda deal, to have online battles via console. First of all, because my DS' WiFi is wonky and doesn't like to connect, and also because I had fun with all the extra trainer crap in BR. Particularly strategizing various teams and having said teams saved for future use, instead of swapping out Pokemon each time.
