Fuck you people, my speling is awesum.

Recently I held a private anime con by my house, where I met Eiichiro Oda, and he told me his real name is Toja Kageyama.
Some people never learn. :<

I hope so. Speaking of which, isn't Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood supposed to be starting this month? That'll be another thing I'll have to spend for as well.
FMA Brotherhood starts in May. Although the dub is already airing on adult swim.

Ah okay, thanks for the info.
I generally prefer to wait until the DVD release. Mainly because of my job, it's hard to watch Adult Swim as late as its on on Saturday nights.

Meh, you're better off waiting for full season sets, just like they did w/ the first series and practically every other series they do.

Yeah, but that takes like a year or two longer, don't it? I don't have the patience.

Well, yeah, but regardless, I've always found it to be frustrating to spend lots of money on getting a series as it was first released only to see the complete collection of it for roughly the same price as the previous "part" sets. I mean, Ouran, Negima, Shin-chan, etc. are all being re-released into complete collections, so it's only a matter of time for other anime like D Gray Man to be released like that too, especially since one season is comprised of two sets. But I see where you're coming from. I'm buying One Piece in the current sets because I really want to see them, however, I can't see these sets so easily being marketed with complete collection sets unlike some the other series. To each their own I suppose.
-
I wonder how would well full season sets sell?

Well I do agree with that. I do try and wait for complete series sets for series I don't mind waiting for.

I agree and i hate when they do that as well, theres been a few series where ive bought the first sets only to see that they release a bigger set much later on when id buy that more complete set from the start if it were there at the beginning. Im still wondering if they may end up putting the seasons on blu ray as a way of releasing the entire first season etc instead of a set, but im not gonna hold my breath since who knows if it will happen, but it is still possible i guess.

Well, Blu-Ray is possible, but I'm personally all for getting Blu-Ray anime when they're movies rather than a series (though some shorter series may warrant a Blu-Ray purchase)…especially for one as long as One Piece. But that's just me. Somewhere down the road, One Piece is bound to be re-released...it's Funimation we're talking about, the only question is to what extent (slightly bigger sets w/ more DVDs or full seasons) and when.

One Piece Season 2 Six Voyage is #23 of #25 in Amazon's top #25 sellers. It's good to know that it's doing well.

FUNi has listed the Season 2, Seventh Voyage episode titles and summaries on their OP site
See, FUNimation is already making the filler episodes better by having Koza
and Vivishow up!! -
I know I have the tv raw for episode 128 on an old hdd, if it still works (it'd be about six years old now), but I also have the hong kong bootleg for that episode, so I'll check that first.
Edit: it's on the HK, if someone wants to cut out the ending and host it somewhere, send me a pm and I'll email the iso. -
I'd love to, but I don't have any email accounts that'll accept that kind of size.

Silly FUNimation, they're not in those episodes.
It's a bit strange, though, that they keep referring to Robin as "Nico."

Heavy fog leads to a close encounter of the culinary kind when Nico fishes a marine out of the drink. The aspiring chef is…

Her name is "Nico Robin".
The person writing the website content obviously isn't someone involved in the production of the show, its probably some intern.
One Piece is the only series so far I've noticed where FUNi is leaving Japanese name order (For everyone except Vivi for some reason…)
They've made that mistake before and referred to Luffy as "Monkey".As long as they never let these Interns work on the actual show, I'm fine with the website doing this from time to time.
-
Yeah, I agree, it's fine with me as long as it's just the summaries and not the episodes themselves. It's just a bit awkward to read…but yeah, reading about how "Monkey meets Roronoa Zoro" was a bit more awkward.
I'm certainly glad that they're keeping the Japanese naming conventions for most of the characters in the shows themselves, and this is just something I noticed on the site.

I'm very glad of this. I was thinking the other day how weird it would be to hear the names in a western ordering.
Luffy D Monkey, Robin Nico, Zoro Roronoa, Hancock Boa, etc.
After hearing the names Japanese style for so many years, it would sound almost alien to hear them reversed.

I think it's mainly because One Piece isn't set in the real world and there is no need to try and adapt any localization for such things. And, as you said, it would just plain sound weird. It's not the same as your traditional Japanese name when reversing it, it doesn't sound so off the rocker.
-
Actually, I think the main reason they're not using Western name order is that the names are written on the wanted posters, and all other material, in Eastern style.
Frankly, I kinda wished they did use the Western name scheme, but that's just a personal preference.
-
My most major problem with the name orders is their odd choice of making Vivi's Western name order for seemingly no reason…
I don't mind when companies switch the name order... but using two different name orders in the same series?...
-
Maybe to convey a different etnicity….but this falls flat due to Vivi and Other Alabasta citizens looking no different than other OP characters.
-
Yeah even 4kids had to keep the name order because of that yet unexplained D.. Roger D. Gol wouldn't have worked. I'm not even that bothered by the Vivi thing, kind wouldn't been cooler if kept it as it was though, but whatever.

Yeah, I did found that bizarre myself. It makes me wonder if it will ever happen with any of the other characters in the future.
-
Yeah, 4Kids didn't change the name order either (they did change some names, but the orders were always kept "Portgaz D. Trace" etc…).
I'm guessing it's just a One Piece thing. 'Cause Naruto and Bleach's dub have the name order reversed for their dubs, but One Piece didn't for both of 'em.

I was referring to the discussion from a few pages back about the Family ending to episode 128.

They're probaby using western order whenever they can. If the name isn't written somewhere (i.e. Wanted posters), they're gonna go western. Otherwise, they stick to eastern style.

I'm not too sure about that. I honestly can't seem them using "Lucci Rob" instead of "Rob Lucci" when his turn comes around, even though I don't think his name was written anywhere. Same goes for "Sandersonia Boa," "Ivankov Emporio," "Cindry Victoria," "Hancock Boa," and "Moria Gecko."

Emporio Ivankov is written somewhere.

Several of them sound western when you first hear them, anyway. Rob Lucci and Victoria Cindry, especially. Doubt they'll change those. Ivankov's name was written on that list of prisoners, to boot.
-
It just occurred to me…..Whitebeard ALWAYS Had his name western style....Edward Newgate.
-
Whitebeard's not a D.
-
….................................
OOPS.:ninja:
-
But you're right about his name being in Western order. Strange.

@Badass:
Whitebeard's not a D.
Edwar D. Newgate? =P

-
Any news on the Season 3 DVD's? How the box art is going to be, and when exactly will it probably get released?
-
Nope, will just have to use common sense. Probably July, probably the saruyama alliance or Bellamy on the box with Luffy.
-
@Badass:
Whitebeard's not a D.
What about Nico Robin? (by which I mean she's not a D either, yet has the reversed naming, so does Zoro. Edward Newgate being western styled IS kind of odd, come to think of it)

Quick question for you guys..
I just ordered for the first time from Right stuff, just got the 6th voyage from season 2.
Um…
I put in my order, but..I dunno if they charged me or if I did it right? I got an invoice, but it was really confusing x_x;
Can anyone clarify it for me so I don't feel paranoid???
Thanks in advance, I've heard good stuff from you guys about Right Stuff, so here's hoping they'll treat me as good as they've treated you all!!
-
How is different naming standards weird? These characters are from all over the world. Of course some will be surname first and some will be given name first. Same as it is here.
Heck, most characters don't even seem to have surnames, so for a lot of them it's a moot point.

Check your bank account. If you got an email stating that your order has been shipped, you have been charged. This is not to be confused with the initial email you get immediately after ordering that just confirms that your order has been received.
Also, you can log into Rightstuff and check your pending orders to see what the status is.
-
oh thankyou!!! I only got the 'order received' email, no shipment sent yet, so I'll be on the look out! Does it usually take long to get that follow-up email?
Thankyou for your help Chopperfules x3 I really appreciate it!!!

Sorry, but what? You quoted me, but we were talking about whitebeard's name being in western order. I said whitebeard's not a D, because aegisrawks had whitebeard's name as "Edwar d. Newgate" (which he edited after I corrected him).
I wasn't saying only people with D's have japanese name order, I was correcting the fact that he wrote Edwar D. Newgate.
