RoboBlue and I just watched the DVD which I got on my big screen with 5.1 surround sound. It was fanfuckingtastic. The sound was amazing. Probably the best of any of the One Piece movies so far. The animation was different, but I got used to it. Overall, I enjoyed this movie a lot.
XD, did you watch the HK subs or just the raw? The sound from the raw was pretty good for my 2 channel speakers. And what's the movie about?
The ACTUAL DVD has no subs.
The sound also caused things in the room to fall. It was fun.
I watched this last night and really enjoyed it. I like that they tried something new both in terms of animation and the amount of emotional resonance. I was very entertained and can't wait to see it with subtitles (though I know I'l have to).
Oh boy, the way you guys put it, i would love to get my hands on a subbed one. Patience again…
I'm glad that a raw finally came out. I have to redownload it because I thought I would be cool to try and convert it to avi >>; it didn't work so I messed up.. If anyone has a good way of converting from .mkv to .avi, that'd be very good '' b
I split up the video file and audio files and tried to put them together as an avi with VirtualDubMod, but when the video file was apart from everything else, it seemed like a corrupt file already, and by that time I had already deleted the original mkv because I needed space. Woo~
I liked this movie overall, but I was frightened at the end :o

Btw, I have a question. Would the guy's name be Danshaku Omatsuri or does everyone translate his name to Baron Omatsuri?

I watched Saiyaman's raw, but I had to download something capable of playing mkv files. It was kind of a bother. Great movie though.

I haven't downloaded this file, but why not? AVis can contain AC3 streams which a lot of DVDs use, and can definitly contain MP2 and PCM which some others use. An AVI can easily contain 5.1 channels.
Secondly, it's an MKV, which means it can contain better audio streams such as OGG, which can also do 5 channels (not sure about the .1)
Just watched it, and I have to concur. Fanfuckingtastic.
The animation was different, but it blew me out of the water in terms of overall quality and I loved it. Likewise with the sound.
The story was different, and I absolutely loved every second of it. The sheer intensity of the final scenes was fantastic. The whole Luffy-field of arrows scene made me shiver.
In fact, I'll bite the big one and say this is my favourite One Piece movie ever to be produced. If Movie 7 is even half as good, God knows I'll love it.

Okay, in the interest of having a copy of this without the Chinese subs at the bottom, I downloaded the raw, and then a file I was under the impression would allow me to play .mkv files. Evidently I was mistaken, as the file is still unplayable for some reason. Can anyone show me (and anyone else in here wondering the same thing) a link to a file that'll work or offer some advice as to how I can get it to play? Thanks. ^^;
EDIT: Okay, crisis averted. Apparently it decided to save itself under the file name "[K-F]One_Piece_Dance_Carnival" for some reason. It also erased my copy of Jango's Dance Carnival from K-F to do so. Did that happen to anyone else, or am I just special?

To be honest, I wouldn't know. I spared myself the hassle of downloading the pack and simply went with downloading the supported Media Players listed there. Like I said, with me the movie runs fine in either VLC player or MPlayer. VLC is a handy player to have in the first place, so I recommend you use that.

This movie sucked ass. Was like a totally different series. Even the animation style was whack. The last 40 minutes were rushed into oblivion. Reminds me of a certain videogame's plot except replacing "dust" with a flower. Movie 4 is still my favorite. It kept its characters true to form and delivered a non-boring, stellar story. Oh, it made sense too.
Edit: You could argue about who the real "villain" was. The intent of the baron and was questionable but you could also say that the Lilly was simply just doing what it was supposed to. This is a non-spoiler way to answer the question. The real question here is whose intent was it for this movie to suck ass?
I was sort of dissapointed with the ending of this movie..
I wanted to see Luffy just go beserk and kick Baron's ass with a ton of cool Gomu Gomu moves…
but it was still an alright movie. (even if I didnt understand anything in it >>;; )

i thought the animation and the art work was whacked... they shoulda kept it plain and simple not trying out something new... i guess its better to experiment on the movie rather than the anime... if i had to watch these eps with the same animation i think i'll retire from k-f XD

I'm about halfway through and so far I really like the animation and the character art (Sanji just looks cool as hell in a few spots). The backgrounds I'm still a little iffy on but I don't hate anything so far.

I finally finished the movie and can say that that movie is my favorite so far. It might be different after I know what people are saying, but for now i like it.

Edit: Nevermind, I got it working. This movie is weird, I'm not sure I like the animation.. especially the way Robin looks. That whole "get the giant fish in the bucket" scene was pretty cool, though.

I'm still hoping for subs in the near future. I did watch a portion of the movie unsubbed, but I started feeling like I didn't want to watch anymore without a translation. I enjoyed what I did see a lot.

Once you have installed the MKV splitter, most media players will be able to play it well, though Media Player Classic is no doubt the best IMO. You can get it at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84358&release_id=314365 (requires no installation and no hassle)
