the last arc was good but this arc is atotal boredome so far.
Fairy Tail
-
-
ummmmm….any1 ever noticed/mentioned there is a huge ass scar on Natsu's neck...is that y he wears a scarf? to cover it up?
-
I think he wears the scarf because it was a gift to him from Igneel.
-
@Brave:
the last arc was good but this arc is atotal boredome so far.
i also am disappointed of this arc..
but well i think the last time FT rly lost much of his potential..
hope it will bring us soon a RLY GOOD arc -
Chapter's out already.
I thought the ending was done well, although I doubt very many of you will agree with me.
-
Ok uhh wow!!!!???
i dont know how to react to this chapter.
thanks for that link though -
Haha, my prediction became somewhat true. I knew they were going to do a simultaneous attack (in a way) and Natsu was going to do a super move, crash into Zero and "destroy" Nirvana castle. In a way. Though, I said natsu will be flown into the air and then rockets down at Zero w/ Erza and everyone else attacks the legs/focal points of Nirvana.
Put the bolded words together with the ones in the bracket which were added to make sense and you get this arcs ending in a way.
@Raider:I rather see Natsu getting flown high into the air along with Erza with her strongest weapon, then dropped down to Nirvana castle at high speeds (using natsu as a human rocket of course), with fists ablaze, while everyone attacks **the individual legs [[/B]Change legs to Lachryma] (**or the focal point[.]/A fallen Blaine/Zero thatNatsu** and Erza are **[is]** **going to impact/[crash into zero]**) of Nirvana **[Everyone]_ with their strongest magic** (maybe downloaded into them by Hibiki) [attack] simultaneously while Erza and Natsu crash_[[B]-es/charges into Zero]down on to Nirvana and destroying it [the lachryma].**
-
I enjoyed this chapter alot more than last despite it being in no way original and making less sense. That dragon image was badass as hell.
-
I loved this chapter! An amazing conclusion to the arc. Zero's final attack was really cool, Natsu's ending blow was smashing [lol], and Wendy's attack was cool too~
-
this chapter was a lot better than the last two, but i was dissapointed to see that Natsu really just created an image of a dragon, i hoped he would summon an actual dragon, which of course should be Igneel, cause random dragons usally don't have scars on their chest…
Zero's final attack was sort of interesting and everyone performing their attacks to destroy the crystals looked nice. double Lucy is always nice to watch and perfume guy and Wendy finally did something useful in points of fighting!i wonder if we'll ever get to see all grown up Wendy... i hope there will be some footage in the last chapters when Zeref was defeated and all.
-
newest chapter made me think of berserk with all those dead soul things in his attack
-
omg, HE WON?? WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED.
My favorite part was Wendy using her dragon magic.
-
my favorite part was when that big mean dragon from the anime showed up behind Natsu…real talk hes good at drawing dragons
-

it's Igneel and he's been shown before. and yes the author is good at this.
-
I'll admit that I laughed when the perfume guy suddenly got all buff.
-
I'll admit that I laughed when the perfume guy suddenly got all buff.
Oh yeah! he did, didn't he.
-
I hope the next arc will be at least as good as the Luxus arc.
-
I hope the next arc takes a little bit longer this time. :/
-
I laughed at the buff Perfume guy. Wendy and her "Sonic Scream" was pretty neat, too. And of course, Natsu's finishing blow for Zero reminded me of Luffy using Storm on Crocodile.
All in all, though, a good chapter. Let's wrap this arc up and see what's next.
-
Chapter 161
- Natsu's a firin' his lazer. Cool enough, I suppose, but we'll never see it again. The Dragon visage should be really cool, but it feels somehow cheapened by the anime over using it.
- Perfume guy is all-around awesome. If the anime gets this far, I want more perfumage.
- Zero's final attack was purdy. Really liked that, and I still like Zero/Brain at the end of it all.
- Nirvana went down kind of easy. Remind me why it was sealed the last time, and not destroyed instead?
Meh. This arc should be over within a few chapters. Overall, I liked it. Maybe I'll go back and reread it all in one go.
-
@'[[\0_0/:
/]_Spider;1368889']my favorite part was when that big mean dragon from the anime showed up behind Natsu…real talk hes good at drawing dragons
Naturally, he drew Monster Hunter Orage, so he's earned some practice for Fairy Tail.
@Corsair:- Nirvana went down kind of easy. Remind me why it was sealed the last time, and not destroyed instead?
there probably weren't enough powerful urban bushmen back in the olden times ;)
(asked myself the same question tho.) -
The chapter was good enough and a nice way to end the oracion six. The drawings of the attacks were very well done and i cannot wait to see the two final attacks animated. I know it's not fully over yet but this arc was okay, not the best, not the worst. I liked the idea of the alliance and there was some okay fights if not as good as other arcs.
For me this arc had the same problem as some of the other ones in that was that is was quite boring and uninspiring at the start of the final main fight of the arc until it gets to the end of it. This has happened in some of them where he has written good fights with the other characters(including natsu against the lesser enemies) but when it comes to natsu's final fight in the arc he pulls out some bullshit power-up that makes natsu all DBZ like with the massive rage explosions. If the authour could just fix that and not make the final fight all about who has the most powerful magical brute force i think the series would improve even more.
But even with saying that i still enjoyed the arc overall. -
They didn't had magical internet, it had to be rampaging for it to be destroyable, in it's not comanded to destroy an specific place state it changes the alignment of anyone on it constantly, the ancients don't know how to destroy, they can only do the most costly and ineficient option, the sealing.
-
I hope the next arc will be at least as good as the Luxus arc.
but that arc sucked
you've got low standards, bro -
hey a fairy tail special is out and has all the girls in towels:wub:
and some nice pics of Lucy:wub:
What am i missing…. oh yeah a story too (i haven't got to that part though)
-
so we can say this arc is finally over..
what was good in it:
-wendy i rly like as a new chara who will have more storytime i hope
-lucy`s new spirits are kinda funnyyoooo
ehhm does this golden fire now mean natsu is "updated" or was it just an update for the moment and natsu has to reach in another way the "he fight like a real dragon"-mode? -
OMG I LOVE BTHIS CHAPTER!!!!
i don't think you can get more fan service than this it's over the tgop i'll post it one more time
http://www.onemanga.com/Fairy_Tail/161.5/000/
trust me the treasure that lucy must find is pure awesome
EDIT: well at least what she thinks it is at first
-
yeah, they should let it by the first treasure
-
@Don:
yeah, they should let it by the first treasure
Indeed, and this whole chapter was over the top fan service more than what you see in air gear but damn it was awesome

Screw this series.

….. i'm confused as to why you are pissed i thought it was fine i mean it's just for people who like fan service basically so i can understand if you don't but.... well i thought it was fine it was just a special nothing important
-
It's because they don't even give series like this a chance because they're too biased (it's anyone, really). This chapter is similar to the defeat of Crocodile. Everyone loves that chapter, right? Well, if this was a Fairy Tail message board and this was the One Piece thread, and this was the Crocodile defeat chapter that came out several years after Zero's defeat in Fairy Tail… guess which one they'd say was boring?
As for the fanservice... One Piece did the same damn thing after the defeat of Crocodile and no one complained. No one.
-
after reading the 161.5 i forgot everything thats been wrong in the last arc
and he should finish FT soon and write a Harem ecchi base on Fairy Hill but keep the characters
-
@Corsair:
- Nirvana went down kind of easy. Remind me why it was sealed the last time, and not destroyed instead?
To destroy it would mean trusting 6 mages any of who could turn on the others and keep nirvana for themselves. Plus with it's light and darkness switch they would be a even bigger chance of that happening.
@Fire Fist:
As for the fanservice… One Piece did the same damn thing after the defeat of Crocodile and no one complained. No one.
Was AP even around back then for people to complain?
Anyway sure they complained. This is the internet, since when has people ever needed a reason to complain?

I'd still say the Crocodile fight end is way better than the Fairy Tail one. If we're going by how the ending was handled, One Piece still ended the fight way better than how Fairy Tail had ended theirs in this chapter. The FT chapter was good though, but it's because Luffy didn't get a random powerup which makes the Crocodile fight end better than Natsu vs. Zero.
Also, are you comparing Crocodile's defeat and Zero's defeat because Crocodile was referred to as Mr. 0?
….. i'm confused as to why you are pissed i thought it was fine i mean it's just for people who like fan service basically so i can understand if you don't but.... well i thought it was fine it was just a special nothing important
Fanservice is fanservice. People hate it, people love it. It's just a lower, more non-tactical way to get fans IMO.
-
Natsu vs Zero was awesome
The Special has great Fanservice :D -
Predictable climax is predictable, but you gotta hand it to Mashima. The man REALLY knows how to draw a dragon double-spread.
I would whine for more, but in retrospect I think Mashima is keeping the dragons in reserve. Any time the series needs a little booster shot, he throws us some awesome dragon stuff.
Oh, and Wendy was cool and the Macho Perfume Guy was highly amusing. The end.
As for the special. . . . .
Okay, I admit it, I loved it. It may be the Women's College Grad in me talking, but I thought it was very sweetly written and well drawn. Loads of fanservice aside rollseyes Mashima did a good job with all the female characters, especially Erza and the Dorm Matron. And it really made me miss my college days when I lived with all my friends under the same roof (although we didn't have a house mother . . . .)
The Cat Princess thing was over the top, though. Obviously done for fanservice and fanservice only, but I'll overlook it. For now.
-
Even though the chapter was boring, I was okay with it. And then I read this.
Screw this series.
We'll see you at the next chapter, k'bye.
EDIT: Episode 7 aired. They went through 3 chapters this time (ended when that wind/shinigami guy powered up and rendered Natsu's flame moves useless). It was okay, but lots of censorship. It seems who ever does the anime wants NO blood whatsoever. And I'm getting tired of Natsu's fights getting replaced ('cause that's what they're actually doing) to those same ol' stock attack animations of his that result in an explosion the next scene. Seriously, those need to be gettin' rid of, fast

One Piece made me wondering if Luffy was ever going to win up until the last moment, and even then, I wouldn't have been surprised if Croc still had more in him. I was on the edge of my seat and completely captivated, whereas here I was just waiting for this arc to end even though I find the main villain rather interesting for once. For you to even begin to compare the two of them though…they're on completely different levels. I can't really say anything to convince you, because your standards are much lower than mine and you'll accept anything as good as long as it doesn't completely kill itself in the process of telling a story. Up until this arc I genuinely loved Fairy Tail; I could overlook all of its faults because it was pure shonen action and never pretended to be anything more. But its faults have become so staggering now that my love/hate relationship has been completely tipped to the latter side. Considering the downwards quality of the manga for the past three arcs, can you really blame me?
One Piece did not do the same damn thing after Croc's defeat; it was one moment of fanservice that was very childish and for comedic effect. That, however, does not mean I'll defend it; while it was no where near as intolerable as the ecchi chapter of Fairy Tail (which, to be fair, had some merits in its story but managed to kill off what little charm it had at the end), I did not like Happiness Punch. I've actually said as much on AP Forums. But guess what, no one cares what I like, just as no one cares that most people still defending Fairy Tail are drooling fanboys who pissed themselves when Igneel appeared behind Natsu (though that was one of the reasons I could deal with the chapter itself). No one cares that I'm done trying with Fairy Tail, but honestly, Mashima sickens me. What better place to say so than an internet forum where other people have actually read what I'm talking about?

ha yea, no kidding seems every other week we have people saying they quit this series. yet they are always back next week to bitch some more.
but yea i'm getting tired of the dragon cuts, i just want a nice fluid fight. It feels like i'm playing a final fantasy game and every move is a cutscene that shows some long ass scene (which seen a hundred times) and then at the end cuts to the group of bad guys and shows their damage. Oh and plus it ruins the awsomeness of those type of things on a new super cool special finisher on a boss.
otherwise besides that whole final fantasy summoning cutscene thing they have going on, i really like the anime. much better than rave was. saw a few episodes of that after reading manga and it just seemed like a 4kids one piece.
i don't mind, hell i mean i dont' notice the lack of blood at all. i'm not sure what ot think of the maurco flashback (filler thingy). I mean it was kind of cool and enjoyed it, but also at the same time it was kind of nice thinking that natsu had just winged that move out of nowhere thinking "hmm wonder if this will work" so whatever i guess, both work for me.
but at same tiem watching that made me think of recent fairy tail, would be nice to see him try some more unique things with fire. i'm sure the author checks out his anime, so hopefully watching it he thinks "oh hey i should have something new with his fire"
-
good chapter ! hope next arc is better
good special ! funny ! erza lesbien ! -

Your random babbling/complaining about the fan service in One Piece/Fairy Tail has left me and probally everyone else that read your post with one question.
Are you gay?
-
Fairy Tail specials are great! i not gonna point out the obvious and say that Lucy has a huuuge ass, no, i'mma gonna say that grandma has a wonderful smile which was really worth waiting for!!! muhahaha….!
btw, Erza's "Latest Fashion Expression" was totaly Rave Master, wasn't it? not as over the top as with Haru, but you can plainly see the origin.
-
eugghhhh… both both chapters were just pathetic (in their own way). the real chapter for obvious reasons and the special because mashima is the most blatant fan service writer in all shonen jump, save a few select mangas like to love ru.
what a fucking stupid special. so unnecessary; it just made me hate most of these characters even more.
fuck it, mashima should just become an ecchi manga-ka, that seems to be the only thing he can do nowadays. -

Fairy Tail isn't in Jump, it's in Shonen Magazine. If it was in Jump, then these past chapters would be less horrible.

Crocodile was the villain of an entire saga. The badass mofo that mocked, hurt, humiliated and laughed at people basically the entire time. The guy that effortlessly kicked Luffys ass twice. You couldn't wait to see this bastard getting beaten. And then during their final match, which was a close and suspensful one, Luffy punched that guy through solid bedrock and with his defeat it started raining and the entire war stopped. That was great.
This was just a generic, boring villain getting punched into a crystal. This would have been much better if Mashima had builed Zero up as a villain. But nope, he was only around for what, five chapters? No memorable quotes, no exciting or creative fights, no personality. Nothing.
@Fire Fist:As for the fanservice… One Piece did the same damn thing after the defeat of Crocodile and no one complained. No one.
You're comparing two pages with a full chapter? Really?
-
hate compariring crocodile with zero !
-
It's getting really really really hard to defend this series now after these last couple of chapters. Zero went down like a ton of bricks (not a compliment) and the fanservice special was more to please Mashima's libido. Yes, the heartwarming relationship between Hilda and Erza was a nice touch but the cons outweigh the pros here.
And now the anime…
the anime.
This is getting ridiculous. The pacing is going way too fast. I honestly can't believe we're already at Erigor vs Natsu and judging by the next episode preview, the Eisenwald arc ends next week. This makes the Eisenwald arc the same length as the Buggy arc from One Piece. The static fights didn't help that much either. And another thing:
! Karakka's icing of Kageyama was censored all to hell. In the manga, Karakka simply stabbed Kageyama in the back with a dagger. In the anime, he just puts his hand through his body in the most…non...graphic...way...POSSIBLE!!! The fuck???
I hate to say this but I think Zac Berschy from ANN may actually be right about the anime…for once.
-
What's the problem with the special chapter? It does'nt affect the story in any way as it's not canon and did not replace a chapter this week, it's just a little extra thrown in for fun.
-
Well I just got done reading chapter 160,161 and that special chapter.
As the chapters go this arc's ending was bad and I did not enjoy the dragon being behind natsu like that reminded me too much of those stupid dragon animations in the anime. Not to say that it was drawn horrible cause it wasn't. Zero's defeat was too sudden to me. The perfume guy and wendy's attacks were awesome if the perfume guy could come back next chapter and actually DO something that would be great.
that special was nice and the ending was funny
as for the anime.. I don't get how they can't show natsu punching kageyama yet they can show him hitting that fat guy through the wall and the battle between natsu and erigor was kind of weird, some of the battle scenes felt like erza's fight, you see the slash than show the character do the pose after the slash no fluid movements. Also the endings for the last two chapters were cool but that fucking stupid song ruins it each time.
