What has been the darkest/saddest moment in your life?
Can't think of a "dark" moment per say, but the closet and most recent thing on my mind is when one of my friends died last year.

There's a bunch of chickens that roam in my neighbourhood, and they're wild/feral and there's a group of folks on another street who hate them. One of those guys had a dog which attacked me while I was walking to school in pursuit of a chicken, and since then they've had a pretty deep vendetta against the chickens.
Allegedly, one of the families called the police that a chicken attacked his son. It's obviously a bluff, but I'm pretty fearful they'll take more serious action in the future.
What should we do about them? My mother is nuts and wants this system of having to not take care of the birds but feed them when they come around to continue, but it can't because the chickens are growing into roosters and when they all start to crow it'll create a real noise issue.
We're not calling animal control because they'd just kill the birds, but come winter they'll likely die anyway if out neighbour doesn't kill them first.
What's your view on this?

Anyway, I would call animal control. If they're that much of a problem and are out of their element/natural environment, they need to be taken out of it. There's no guarantee animal control will kill them anyway.
