NFL Week 2
Giants at Dallas: The Giants are coming off a relatively uncontested victory against the Skins; The boys are coming off a sloppy victory against the Bucs (who had momentum multiple times within the game). The fact that the game is in Dallas means that this wont be a safe bet for the Giants to win, and that’s exactly why the line is in Dallas’ favor, but the Giants are still the better team and should crawl away with a victory when it’s all said and done.
Ravens at San Diego: The way that San Diego played against Oakland last week was akin to an uber-drunken bar brawl; They did come away with a win, but it was certainly not convincing. The Ravens game was oddly similar until the final quarter. Even before last week though, the Ravens were still the favorites with that defense.
Saints at Philadelphia: The Saints offense wont look nearly as good as it did last week against Detriot, but the Eagles also wont have as much success on defense as they did last week against the Panthers. This matchup wont be as good as it looked on paper before McNabb got hurt last week, but it will still be one to watch. The Saints defense will be good enough against Kolb to pull out a win.
Panthers at Atlanta: A divisional matchup that will be fun to watch only because Atlanta’s defense isn’t as talented as Philadelphia’s. The only way this game goes the other way is if the Panthers inherit a real HC before Sunday, and that’s not happening.
Patriots at New York: Upset pick of the week. It’s not extremely trendy considering the Patriots game versus the Bills last Monday, but Rex Ryan’s win against the Texans last week impressed me. ESPN’s coverage of this game has been about how the Pats defense will confuse Sanchez; I’m not so sure that will happen, especially since they didn’t really seem to be able to confuse a mediocre third year QB named Trent Edwards, last week.
