The only fault I can find is that Oda didn't throw in a panel at the end with Luffy saying, "We're here!" but considering that we can atleast start assuming some match ups and considering that this a war in which 99% of it is being fought by people other than Luffy and his group I'd say Oda did show more than enough in this chapter.
Remember Luffy's group is a drop in the bucket compared to all the other forces battling at HQ.

Also I bet a lot of people spent the time that should've been spent dissecting the chapter pics prematurely in the spoiler section which of course would ruin the chapter later at full release considering that it isn't a dialogue heavy chapter.

People complained that it was a fast chapter, but I spent more than 10 minutes ogling the details of each page. So many characters. Plus I get to see uber-class legendaries start fighting.

Bleach is like the worst comparison you can ever make. One chapter of warm up action is compared to a series with literally fifteen chapters of boring nonstop action.

God, this chapter is just too epic for words. I mean Whitebeard summons two humongous tidal waves, and then Aokiji comes up and instantly freezes them, and what does Whitebeard have to say to it?

You've never seen fast moving people look like they're teleporting? Do you even read manga? He doesn't teleport he just moves fast. If they didn't put the lines there everyone'd be confused as to where he went. THAT would look more like teleportation.

And there's no real reason to say this chapter is epic, it should be assumed because it's One Piece.

I dunno, I just thought this and the long-range Ice Age was a bit inconsistent with what he had previously shown. Makes me think he could have raised a lot more hell on WB and his ship+crew than just launch some ice torpedoes, but then I'm getting dangerously in the land of wild speculation, heh. But no big deal, it set the stage for the continuation of the war.

Error of judgment my ass. Mr.Oda intentionally made everything a double spread. Because this is the biggest war of the series and he wanted us to dazzle us with visually appealing double spreads. If every chapter of the war were like this, I think I'd start a religion dedicated to Mr. Oda.

Actually all he did was imply that it was a boring chapter like bleach with better art (still a bad comparison to even mention though), and I don't think we will be getting a lot of dialogue heavy chapters save for the beginnings of the 1v1 fights so I expect the main battlefield to be remain filled with skirmishes like what's already started.

Why was it inconsistent? He most likely wasn't using his full power when he fought the Strawhats. It's just like how Ace can shoot fire.

You are literally implying that regardless of this involving about half of the most important people in the One Piece world, that it's not relevant or important enough since it doesn't involve the main cast.

Dialouge is not a goddamned requirement for telling a story in a comic book.

And I already laid out why this chapter is if anything more packed with progression of plot then most. And certainly most of the Impel Down chapters people have been letting through their system without blinking.

I like the chapter. I do not think it was boring. There was plot, not a lot, though, because of all the two-page spreads. And I think Oda just wanted to do something different once in a while.

And yes, it is hard for me to empathize with others. That's probably why I make myself out as some kind of fool.

There was more plot in this chapter than most. What there was a lack of was dialogue.

Hey, I'm the guy they used for the translation for the scan on onemanga. I admit my translation was pretty rough, and there's a few mistakes. For example Jose-> Jozu, Palachizan-> partisan, and the royal seal thing.
And I have to correct the part that has so much controversy too. Mihawk wasn't using first person singular, but plural.

Hold the phone dude, I don't care there was a lack of dialogue. The opposite, the lack of dialogue made the chapter all the more better. I could just enjoy the art and aesthetics and the sheer concepts and implications of the actions being done with regards to power scale and overall coolness. Adding a bunch of dialogue would have detracted from that. Which is why I'm sure Mr. Oda did the chapter the way he did. For us to just enjoy the freaktastic things before us.

Um, the plot consisted of: the fights started. And that could be divided up as: Aokiji stopped Whitebeards tsunami and attacked with ice spears. Whitebeard broke him. Then pirates started to come out of their ships to attack. Hawkeyes slashed at Whitebeard but was blocked by Jozu (or is it Jose). Vice Admirals lined up in front of the pirates (sans Garp). Kizaru attacked Whitebeard, but Marco blocked his attack. End of chapter.

Alright, so maybe there wasn't that much lack of plot afterall. But now I don't understand what makes this chapter boring.

They'll obviously be fighting others, do you honestly expect no 1v1s? So in your mind it'll be a big battle royal orgy, with the big guys spamming their ultra destructive attacks indiscriminately into the enemy ranks without any of these strong guys singling each other out?

Battles are part of One Piece, those things would be relevant to progressing the story. Otherwise you might as well say all war novels do not have a a "lot of" plot (though I don't see the relevance or the exact meaning being used here in quantifying plot.)
