This is probably the best case of timing we've had so far. A few months ago, and Whitebeard probably would have walked this, and in a months time, the same would probably be true. But for right now, it's three hours till the execution and three has been rather prominent of late.

God dammit, I'm kinda getting tired of this "recent character" whining. Yes, Mr. 3 is winning because he appeared recently. Mostly because he also got some character development that was a result of his recent appearance. Something Whitebeard is, as of this point, unfamiliar with.
I mean, damn, every thread an Impel Down character is in, this comes up… Being fresh in our minds is one thing, but y'all need to quit acting like it's making characters win.

Kaku was way more developed than Mr. 3 and way more likable…
What kind of development did Mr. 3 get? He helped Luffy slow down Magellan, because he knew otherwise Magellan would crush them all. It's not character development, it's called survival instinct.
So basically Mr. 3 > Whitebeard > Kaku implies Mr. 3 >> Kaku, which just does not make sense to me.
Concerning the recent character thing, this is the first time I mention it. I did not complain about Croc or Buggy winning since they are established characters, but I think we can all agree that Mr.3 is nowhere near their level, so in his case I'm pretty sure this is the reason he's winning.
Fans have short memories, that's the unfortunate truth. Until proven otherwise, that's the way I feel. Call it whining if you want, I'm just making an observation.

As for Kaku…i DID vote Whitebeard against him though. Kaku is bland as hell

Kaku was voted 9th in the penultimate OP character poll. Mr.3 was never near the same level. That's why it's so surprising to me.

This time I don't really mind WB losing 'cause Mr 3 is a pretty fun character. Even before he appeared in ID, I thought he was funny. Kaku was cool but I didn't like him that much to prefer him over WB. In these kind of matches, I look at who made me lol the most. WB did. That 'stache still gets me in hysterics. It's just too darn ridiculous for me.
Just put it on any character and you'll see the giggles that come out :'D

Although I would venture a guess that BW is more popular than CP9. At least in the US fanbase. CP9 ain't to popular on these shores…

Kaku was easily my favorite CP9 followed by Kumadori, Lucci, Juabura and Fukurou.
From Baroque Works I only liked Croc, Mr. 1 and Bon Clay. I guess CP9 made a bigger impression on me…
