Someone hasn't actually played a board game with a friend to get the whole point to the more recent Board James.

I do believe the point to Board James is to bring back nostalgic memories of old board games from most of our youth. Remember, that's more among the lines of James Rolfe, NOT the Angry Video Game Nerd. So obviously you're not gonna hear any "This game is aaaaaass." or "Fuckballs" in those videos.

He showed the ad, explained how it was played and basically recreated an exact situation (well, CG effects aside) of playing that type of game with a friend. Especially when one has a cheating bastard of a friend. :P

yeah you`re right, but actually i hoped for more..
i mean showing how you played with a friend such an game sure is okay, but for my taste it was a little looooong and rly besides that nothing else

but i understand that this game hadn`t rly much more potential …and actually he showed good what all kids saw at that time while they were playing this game :)

That commercial was the shit back in the day and it still is, but as a kid i had no interest in playing it.

It's kind of a shame this barely qualifies as a game. The review would have been more interesting overall.

Well I just finished the AVGN review, and between his and GH's review, I guess they're about even humor and quality-wise. Even more interesting they pretty much went the exact same route. The AVGN diverted a little, but he pretty much did the same thing as Tom and Mickey. But yeah, he did have some really funny moments in this review.

I liked this episode. The only thing I didn't like were the comparisons (the I'd Rather lines), they felt forced and poorly written.
I've heard complaints there wasn't enough "reviewing" but that 1 level he showed is the entire game X50, there isn't much to say when it's the same exact thing over and over.

yeah but than FOR THAT giving us 14min bugs bunny fighting..:blink:
it was okay for my taste..i do enjoy it more when we see more when he actually is gaming and shows how hard he tries and fails here and their again and again hahahah :)
but i know james loves to make fight-choreographies, and actually some scenes were pretty funny..:happy:
but yeah overall…just middle class

I cringed when they were getting stuff on his posters. can those even be replaced. that stuff is 10-20yrs old. T_T

Wow, that was an interesting episode, definitely very different from the others. Even though it was different it was still good but like Nobodyman said needs more game bashing. The fighting between Bugs and Nerd was still entertaining but yeah. Man I feel sorry for those posters.

What I really like about the nerd. Is that sometimes he steps out of his box and does something different. Even though I always prefer to see him bash games, I respect the amount of work that probably went into filming that fight.

Man there was that Hugo-Game on Gameboy, which came from Denmark (if I remember correctly), and it seems that it happens to be the exactly same game as Crazy Castle 2!!

Yeah, I too like it way more when he focuses on the games but it's probably much more fun to film fighting scenes than playing games which, well, sucks butthole. This one didn't look that bad at all, tho.

According to his site this video took 122 Hours to produce! Pre-production in February, and filming in March, and editing in the spare time he had.
It really does show.

Well, actually it wasn't even a big deal in middle europe. It probably just got sold in France, Denmark, Austria and Germany.
But I liked the game as a kid.
And it got it's own game show on TV.

His 'Plumbers Don't Wear Ties' review has easily become one of my favourites. The Nerd doesn't even have to say anything. This 'game' is so bad, I just can't believe they released it.

And the Bugs review. Yeah, too much action, not enough reviewing. But I guess it was satisfying. Sort of.

True Facts: Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes weren't originally in the Japanese versions of the first two games. Instead, it was Roger Rabbit and Mickey Mouse.

The switch to Woody Woodpecker was likely due licensing issues with Warner Bros.

Moonwalker had the ending sketch.
Milon's Secret Castle was all review.
The Jaguar Reviews had some skits but were decent episodes.
Metal Gear was a review and overview of the series
The Odyssey… well you couldn't say much about the first video game console.
Everything up to Bugs Bunny was review-based.

You know, I could had actually bought that game if European release of it's 360 version hadn't been postponed. Now I'm going skip it because there are just too many other games coming out. But perhaps once there's less games coming out I might check it out. It looks fun.

Because they're scared that it comes to an end silently. Giving up on such projects after some time lies in the nature of itself. Especially on the internet. Some people just stop when they think "How long am I anyway planning to do this?".

But he seems to have fun with it after all. And to not lose this fun, I really would recommend that he does what he likes to do. Even if that means to us that 1 or 2 of 5 out of his coming videos are going to be less entertaining than the other ones. I can live with that.

Yesterday I decided to check out some AVGN videos. The first one totally knocked me off my feet. I don't really remember laughing out loud at anything I watch on my computer. Like, ever. Even things I like or find funny. Wow, this one totally had me laughing my ass off.

Now, I haven't played any of the games he reviews, except for a mario game (which I recently played on a NES emulator on my PSP) or maybe a zelda game in had on gameboy which he mentions on passing, but he reviews all the games so well, points out the annoying flaws, it's just godly. Except the live action bits which are annoying. And I thought nostalgia critic was funny, but this is 10x better.. have to go watch some more now.

Here he kept throwing around generic complaints like "why don't his legs move when he jumps", "I can't tell what these enemies are", nitpicking on the choice the first 2 bosses he encounters or the fact that there is a time limit. You couldn't even tell if the game was actually bad or not..
