I dislike how all these self proclaimed "exxxperts of gaming" have annoying nerd voices.
The bias in this video is so strong, I can't ignore it.
Bashing on Madden (and I would never play Madden even if it was the only video game in existance) because he doesn't consider a sports game without substance to be up to a level of quality reflecting it's sales is complete bias that any sports game fan can quickly turn around and say "I don't want to play that kiddy bullshit Xenogears, what am I 4?"
Bashing FF7, has become as popular as bashing Christianity, or anything else that ends up revolutionizing the world into change, change that causes social outcasts to fit in even less, despite the world popularizing many aspects of their own lives that used to be unpopular (Memes, Internet, Gaming, blogging).
So by bashing FF7, you become the tool you claim fans of FF7 are.
I played FF7 when I was 13 and yes it was the greatest fucking video game I ever played, because guess what? Even after playing every single FF before it, I was at an age where shit like shakespere's kingly faggotry and brothers whining about who gets the kingdom bored me to no end, I had enough of it at school. A story about a young guy that joins a revolution, carries a big sword that slices everyone up and ends up saving the world? Yes please. This is what interested me, this, seeing naked girls and being the best at basketball.
And yes, the Zone of the enders villains were all superior to Sephiroth, but Wii Fifa 09 despite it's graphics, is also a superior game to Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty, because the controls are disgusting on a PC.
Games change across genres and over time, most of the examples he used have nothing to do with 1997, or RPG's. It's facetious whining from intarweb nerdz trying to make their e-penis bigger by gaining the approval of their fellow peers.
Which by the way, went out of style back when Maddox's website was still getting hits.
