Looks like they came several hours after another anonymus torrent upload (during the summer nyaa is utc+2)
**_Name: [FUNi-Toei-Fuji] One Piece - 403 .flv, Date: May 30 2009, 02:55.
Name: [Lance-HorribleSubs] One Piece - 403 [360p].mkv, Date: May 30 2009, 07:09.
Further supported by HorribleSubs' encoding tag: UTC 2009-05-30 05:07:08 so they couldn't have spread the file elsewhere before.
For some reason the first torrent was vividly defended by user xscar.

He even went as far as to complain to Nyaa's admin about the torrent's deletion:
xScar ( 30/5 13:33 ) ā Why did the [FUNi-Toei-Fuji] One Piece 403 get removed while the [Lance-HorribleSubs] version gets to remain up? >>_
Highly suspicious behaviour for an innocent leecher if you ask me. As it turns out there also is a myanimelist user by that name.

That seems to have intimate knowledge of the black market.

Arucard, it was streamed with subs on JUMP's siteā¦ but you can find rips of it around...
If we go on to google his MSN nick we find out that he has been punished for flooding IRC channels in the past. Exactly the kind of antisocial behaviour one would expect from someone who h@(|<$ into the vaults of Funimation.
[22:27:40] Scar (~e1iteryan@adsl-224-60-102.asm.bellsouth.net) left irc: [irc.dats.us] Local kill by \dev\urandom (DO NOT FLOOD EVER AGAIN OR THIS WILL BE A KLINE AND NOT A KILL.)
Of course you don't know if this is the same guy or if he even uploaded the torrent but you might still wanna chase him all over the intarnetz just to be sure.

edit: encoding time tag.
@ecwcwwe:
This is such a bad week! First, one of my favorite wrestlers (Mr. Kennedy) gets fired for constantly getting injured, and now the Funi-subs have the possibility to stop :(
Well, that confirms it. If it was HorribleSubs, then we know the reason it was spread wasn't to help the impatient one-piece fans, but to screw funi
HorribleSubs have said so themselves, that they don't release subs because they like the shows. They do it to "piss off" the company who releases them
~ From their website
So It's obvious they are doing the same here. They like to tick off as many people as possible
Thanks for the helpful info guys. I have no desire to really start an internet war, but at the same time, I'd like to avoid their shit from now on. I'll never support this crap anymore, not after this. I don't get what the big thrill is about trying to piss off the companies anyway.
@Tsukento:
And risk having my ass being sued to the ground by THREE COMPANIES, along with risking jail time over a cartoon?
Hell no. I have patience. I can wait a whole day for the episode to air. Because that's how long everyone had to wait between the time the person leaked it and the time for the episode to air in Japan.
Not to mention, it also ruins it all for EVERYONE who did wait patiently and were hoping for this to be the key to helping One Piece become more successful in the US.
I second. As much as I love One Piece, I wouldn't go as far as to leak the show before it aired, and risk facing jail time. It's an awesome cartoon and manga indeed, and I'm willing to do much more for it than any other series out there, but I don't think there are many out there who would go to jail for it, no matter how much they love something.
It's not fair to say we'd act the same. I admit many One Piece fans are impatient and bitch about fansubs and stuff being laate (I know since I am also a fansubber) but how many fans have you seen do something like this? I consider this much worse than posting fansubs or raws that have already aired._**
