Imo, there is nothing to feel guilty about. I mean, the only difference between watching it "legally" and "illegally" is the ads on the Funimation website. If you have sat through the ads 10+ times, only for the stream to freeze on you every single time, you already "paid your dues" for watching the episode. So going off to some other source shouldn't really matter.

I don't read the manga (only the anime), so I don't know if it has happened yet, but Luffy seems to be completely oblivious as to what "Haki" really is. So there is a good chance that someone will eventually explain it to at least him, thus allowing the viewers to know that it is the "strong ambition to do something". Until then, the viewers are just to expect it to be some new ability.

HorribleSubs have said so themselves, that they don't release subs because they like the shows. They do it to "piss off" the company who releases them

Sensei has a direct translation too, and guess what!? That word tends to stay untranslated in most american movies/shows/cartoons. Does that mean that all of those are "weeaboo" now too? I guess to you they are, right? I mean, no word that any english-speaker reads should ever be foreign, right? That is what you are implying, after all. Screw people being able to culture themselfs, it is all about translating every last word!!!

Lol… Seriously, you were/are judging Nakama fansubs just by their name, without even bothering to see how they actually sub. I would tell you to "not judge a book by it's cover", but I doubt you would be open-minded enough to even try it.

Oh, and fyi… I never said I liked Nakama fansubs(I actually prefer yibis). I came in here because I thought they were releasing a same-day sub (the 5 at the end caught me offguard), then saw you with your factless and opinionated attack on the group, and decided to respond.

And before you start throwing around the "weeaboo" word(it seems that lately, people have been using that word without any thought), realize that some words are best untranslated(great example: the word "sensei". Any american martial arts movie/whatever uses the word "sensei" rather than teacher/instructor). And if you already know what it means in english, then don't worry about it!

Back on-topic, glad to see Nakama getting active again. Hopefully they will get caught up soon. When I saw the topic, I actually thought it said "395", meaning they would have done a same-day release :P

Well, it's still a great series, considered an essential shonen by many. If you don't mind the outdated animation, go for it!

Anyway, is MAR that good? I keep reading good things about it here and there, but i'm still not sold..

Outdated animation is alright. I still have plans to watch Slamdunk and Hokuto no Ken somewhere down the line.

MAR is actually pretty good, but the plot tends to lag quite a bit(at least in the anime it is, but doubt the manga is slow).

Yea, from what I read, the first season focuses more on the main character getting stronger, while the second is about the tournament

It's 114 episodes, although if you're looking for a tournament don't expect too much…it's just the story introduction, which goes on for 5 or so episodes.

And stay away from Flame of Recca anime, just go straight to manga.

Gonna fix what I said earlier. Just started downloading the Saint Seiya batch torrent (only 1 episode though, just to hear how the voices sounded), and it turns out that it is indeed fansubbed. So, no worries about being forced to watch it in an english dub

And, yea, dunno where I got 112 from.
Well, for so many episodes, and only 5 of which have the tournaments that I am looking for… I will probably have to pass on it. I already have a list of some good shonen anime, so...yea

From what I'm reading, Beet looks like a good anime in general, though I can't find anything about the tournaments. I will probably end up watching it sometime in the near future anyway, though.

Seint Seiya looks pretty good. 112 episodes + 31 episodes worth of OVAs, and according to the descriptions I'm reading, it sounds really interesting. Only problem is that it looks like there is only the english dub available, so gonna need to look into the voices and such before watching it

With Gash Bell, I am waiting until Anime-Destiny finish up the subbing on the series before downloading/watching. They only have about 13 episodes left to sub, but since they only up an episode once a month, Id hate to be in the middle of a great fight and be forced to wait a month

Havn't heard much about Baki(not too much info on it either), so kind of on the edge about sitting through the first season just to get to the tournament in season 2.

Okay, recently I have found myself in the mood to watch some animes with quality tournaments in them, but don't really know any that might be good. So, I am hoping some people here might be able to point me in the right direction of some animes with excellent tournaments

-Animes in which I have seen, that had tournaments in them-
Yu Hakusho - Had a few budokais, which I LOOOOOVED
DragonBall (Z) - Only the DB tournys were really any good
Hajime no Ippo - Drools at the tournaments and fights
Hikaruo no Go - Pretty decent tournaments, though they did kind of get a little boring
Hunter x Hunter - While the anime was excellent, the tourneys themselfs were a little lacking
Shaman King - Decent tourneys. Not great, but decent
MAR - Good tournaments, and really unpredictable. Though, Static Subs has been a bit slow with the subs, so kind of strayed away from this anime recently)
Yugioh - Saw this when it aired on KidsWB, so pretty much know the end-result of each matchup already, which kind of deters me from sitting through it again. While there are major differences between the FailKids dub and the original version, I don't think itd be enough for me to watch it again.
Hitman Reborn - There technically was a bit of a tournament in this one, so felt included to include it in the list.

Now, I know animes like Pokemon have tourneys in them, but I am looking for something that doesnt have 300+ episodes just for a few tourneys >_>
So any help would be greatly appreciated.
